[ That topiary garden was most definitely not in the forest clearing yesterday but hey, it's up now and looks to be the sort that should have taken weeks to set up. There are rosebushes in both white and red (some of those red ones look red. How odd.) as well as several pieces of topiary shaped like leaping hares and mock turtles and dormice. Amongst the topiary in a clearing are white tables and chairs set for what seems to be for tea. The maids of the cafe are dressed in blue and lace, along with matching striped white and blue stockings and mary janes. It seems the Master of Ceremonies has chosen Alice In Wonderland as the underlying theme for the maid cafe's debut event.

The food is, as well, similarly themed. Tea comes with delicate little sugar rabbits. Pastries are adorned with tiny playing cards. Feel free to order whatever your little heart pleases.

Mephisto himself is seated in one of the chairs in the corner, eyes trained on the girls and any incoming would-be patrons. He's calmly sipping his tea, stirring in one of those sugar rabbits and looking quite pleased with the way things seem to have turned out. There's a small sign on his table that reads "Kleine Engel - now hiring".

When evening comes, paper lanterns begin to surround the parameter of the topiary garden and setup. Fireflies start to come out, adding a surreal glow about the area.

Care to take a load off? Have some tea and cake? Inquire about any open positions?]

Then again, I suppose I wouldn't expect anything less.

[ Looking up from his tea now. ]

Finally awake, I see Miss Egin. And how was your sleep?

Ugh, I overslept.

[ Same old, same old. Let's keep the subject off of me and put it on you again. ]

So then, is this little event about finding more staff for the place?

Finding more staff and bringing the cafe to the public eye, so to speak.

[ Sipping his tea, motioning for a chair to float over for her. ]

Would father come rampaging in protest were I to ask for you to join us?

[ She takes a seat as it is offered, making herself comfortable. ]

Somehow, I think your father would be in full support of seeing me in a short skirt. In fact, I think he would complain it's not short enough.

[ Oh, Yuri. ]

However, he's not here. And I am the one who has to ultimately agree to that anyway.

[ Have a long suffering sigh. Somehow between him, Amaimon, their father, their youngest brother ~~and the unshown siblings inbetween~~, Mephisto seems to be the only self proclaimed gentleman amongst them. ]

Then by all means, it would be an honor for you to join us. However, that little sentence has sparked my curiosity... I wonder if there would be a being in this city, barring Shiro-pon and yourself of course, strong enough to serve as father's vessel...

[ She holds up her hand. ]

Now, Mephisto. I never said I agreed to do it. I thank you for the offer, though, and I will take it into consideration. After all, Shiro did ask me some time ago to be a teacher with him, whenever he gets that school of his up and running ...

[ Though she's still not sure what she would teach, or how she would even begin to teach it. Shiro had quite a bit of confidence in her, but she wasn't sure she was suited for something like that. Mephisto's next comments were interesting, too. ]

There's always a chance ... though, it may be best that Satan isn't here. As much as I would love to turn around the way people here view Satan, I'm afraid it's not going to be as simple as introducing him to the masses and hoping everything will be all right.

Of course, of course~

[ No pressure really but the offer was up in the air. There's a small lift of his brow though at the mention of Shiro putting up a school. So his little lion was going to take up teaching again. Interesting. Mental noting is a go. ]

I doubt father would make the most favorable first impression. Given a stable vessel and a chance to roam free of Gehenna...?

[ At any rate, there's a teapot floating over. ]

But where are my manners. Might I interest you in a refreshment while you're here?

Ah ... hah. Well, you know your Father.

[ She shrugs and sighs, then looks to the teapot and nods at his question. ]

I would like that very much, thank you!

Reluctantly so...

[ And he does indeed know his father. While the knack for destruction is predictable, he can't forgive that foul mouth and the poor example he was setting for Amaimon.

Have a teacup and milk jug floating over as well as a small plate of macaroons poofing up. ]

It seems like only yesterday he'd attempted to recreate the Gehenna gate over my beloved Academy. Much good that did him, of course.

It wasn't one of his most well thought out plans.

[ She sighs. ]

And involving the boys to that extent ...

[ It's clear to see she didn't approve of how much bodily harm came to her babies. And mental trauma, too, but ... she had known that they would have a hard life because of who their father was from the start. ]

I'm certain you didn't quite approve of his brashness, but alas. That's just how he is.

[ That tea is making itself now. Oddly, it seems to know just how to control the level of cream and sugar to make it something actually pleasant to someone else and not diabetically oversweetened. ]

Father can be such an impulsive animal...

[ Yuri ... isn't surprised at the tea, to be honest. She's seen weird things in her life, and in her afterlife too. This isn't all that weird to her. Fascinating, yes. Weird though, not really. ]

I didn't. I really don't like seeing my boys hurt like that. He didn't quite understand what I was so upset over, and kept giving the argument of 'they've got my genes, they'll be fine.'

[ She pouts. ]

He really can be ...

[ And have a laugh for that. ]

Whatever did you see in him, mother, really?

Sometimes I wonder ...

[ She sighs. ]

You can't help who you love, right? My relationship with your father is based on helping him understand Assiah for himself, though, and so I suppose this is just another thing to help him with.

... Don't get me wrong, though. I'm still sour about how hurt the boys have been.
