Chocobo Timez

Selphie had first to drag the birds all the way up to the island for rescue, and then she had to drag them all back down again. They didn't seem to appreciate all the pushing and pulling, but they did seem happier to be back in the place that they recognised. Some of the birds were running happily up and down the field, while others were taking a nap beside the barn. Selphie, meantime, was decked out in her chocobo farm gear - tshirt and shorts, but complete with cowboy boots and hat. Feeding time, and she was dragging a heavy sack of feed from the barn out into the field, slowly, slowly, pulling it along with all of her weight, hat tipping off her head. Some of the birds turned and chirped - at least someone was amused.

Sora had meant to help Selphie get the chocobos back down into the bubble, but one thing after another and before you knew it he was too late. After his adventure with Roxas on the island, he'd come back down to the bubble and was now beating feet over to the chocobo farm to make sure everything was okay or if Selphie needed anymore help.

He caught sight of her pulling bag along and ran over right away.

"Hey! Selphi! Need a hand?"

Selphie smiled at Sora when she saw him running over, and she thought about waving but then she'd drop the sack of food, so instead she just nods. "Yes please! These guys are super hungry. Can you help me pull this into the middle of the field? I can tell they're staring at me to hurry up!"

"You got it!" Sora went over, an rather than just helping Selphi pull the bag he picked the whole thing up and hefted it onto his shoulders.

"Where to!"

Selphie stared at Sora for a moment as he picks up the sack, and she laughed quietly to herself. "Just a little more over there, into the middle of the field." She pointed to a distance just a small way in front of them.

"That's not too bad!" Sora walked over as if the bag weighed nothing. Despite his small frame he had some strength to those limbs.

"Here okay?" He started to put the bag down.

Selphie laughed, shaking her head slightly as she followed Sora into the middle of the field. She nodded once he got to the right place, "Yup, that's perfect!" Then Selphie took a small folded knife from her pocket, and split open the sack. Soon as she did, the chocobos rushed towards her, so she jumped out the way of the bag of food. "C'mon, let's spread a little." Selphie had gathered a handful, and was beginning to spread it along the fences of the edge of the field, "Dinner time!~"

"Whoa!" Sora laughed as the chocobos ran over. He two handfuls worth of food and started to back up with it, but one of the birds followed, trying to eat straight out of Sora's hands. "Hey! Wait your turn." Sora laughed as he followed Selphie's lead to spread the food out.

Selphie looked over her shoulder to Sora, laughing too as she watched the chocobos pecking at his hands. There was a string of birds behind Selphie, following where she was dropping the food. "You might wanna just drop it! They won't hurt you, but they will eat outta your hands if you let them!"

Sora did as he was told, dropping the food and moving out of the way so the chocobos could have their fill.

"Don't worry there's more where that came from!"

He went back to get another hand full to try and spread it around so they weren't all pecking at the same bit of ground.

Selphie was finished with her couple of handfuls of feed, and she moved aside to let Sora continue. The birds seemed to enjoy having someone else around who is willing to feed them, and some of the more adventurous ones nudge Sora with thanks. Selphie laughed from the side, hands on her hips, "I think they appreciate their dinner!"

"Ya think?" Sora reached out to pet one of the chocobo's that was nudging him. He laughed as the bird nudged him a bit harder in the face so he had to steady himself. He really liked this.

"This is fun. I wish I could help out more." Not that there was anything stopping him.

"Well, you're more than welcome to come by any time that you want!" Selphie smiled, reaching to pet a chocobo that had wandered close to her, planting a small kiss on its beak, which it appreciated with a small flap of its wings. "I could always use an extra hand down here. Though... you will have ta get yourself a hat." She grinned at Sora, tapping the edge of the cowboy hat she was wearing.

Sora and hats didn't really mix, but for this he'd make an exception.

"Okay! Count me in!" Sora's face broke out int a wide grin. "From now on, I'll be your assistant!"

Selphie laughed at the idea, loving how happy Sora looked, "Perfect! Come down whenever you like! You'll be racing with these guys in no time!~"

"You really think so?" Sora grinned. "I'll make sure to stop by every day then!"

Selphie smiled and nodded, moving to pick up the empty sack, "Great! I look forward to seeing you around!"

"You can count on it!" Sora gave Selphie a thumbs up. "Do you need help with anything else?"

Selphie glanced around at the chocobos, who all seemed very happy eating away, and she shook her head, "Not for now. But feel free to hang around and get to know the birds if you like."

"Okay!" Sora wouldn't mind doing that. He stuck around for a bit, talking with each of the chocobo's as if it were there most natural thing in the world. He even petted a few that seemed more than willing to be distracted for a little bit on their food.

He'd stay there for awhile, but eventually he would head back home. He had his own animals to take care of after all.

_{[Ever since he had been introduced to one of those odd birds by Celes, Grimmjow had been keeping a close eye on them purely out of curiosity's sake. They were...

Weird.

Weird, but oddly intriguing.

He wasn't even aware that another foreigner was tending to the odd creatures until he picked up on the small commotion that was attracting the attention of a few of the birds, but he didn't leave his spot on the fence. Well well, what was this?]}

Ah, c'mon! Don't tell me it's that heavy!

_{[At least he's in something a little more casual than usual.]}

*The hat was just about to fall off her head when she hears someone calling out. She pauses, tipping back her head to see beneath the rim and she smiles*

Naaah. I'm just dragging it along like this cause I'm super lazy, ya know?

*But she rolls her shoulders like they might ache, and continues to drag the sack out into the field*

Don't they have wheelbarrows here?

_{[Gosh Vatheon, what even. He stretches his legs out before he hops off the fence and heads over to make a vague 'shoo' motion with his hand.]}

Move it, girlie. Just tell me where you need it.

Oh! They do! Pretty sure there's one at the back of the barn somewhere...

*Selphie can't help but laugh, happily jumping aside to allow him to take the feed. She points vaguely towards the middle of the field, where the chocobos are starting to move now that they know that dinner is coming*

I didn't think of that!

[So this is An's first time seeing the Chocobos, so as she walks by the barn, she looks pretty impressed.]

These are very interesting creatures...

*Selphie let's go of her sack of food, letting it drop to the ground as she looks up at An and smiles, waving*

He-ey! They're cute, right?

[An studies them for a moment.]

Yes, they look like a mixture of... chickens and ostriches... Or maybe an ostric and a tropical bird? But I had never seen any bird like them.

*Selphie tilts her head as she looks the birds over and nods in slow agreement*

Yeah, that's what people who've never seen chocobos before usually say... Do you like them, though? They're real friendly. Well, most of them.

[An takes another look at the birds and nods.]

Yes, they do look friendly enough. May I touch them?

Of course! They all love the attention, really.

*Selphie smiles, motioning for two chocobos in particular to come forward. She knew they'd be nothing but sweet, and chirp in their appreciation of being given affection*

[An carefully moves closer to the birds and gently pets one of them first, and then the other.]

They're so soft...

Mmhmm. They take a little bit of grooming some times of year, but mostly they look after themselves.

*Selphie smiles, watching as the birds nuzzle closer to An for more petting*

They are quite nice... Though I regret to say I do not have enough place at my home in this world to keep one.

Mmm - but if there's one that you really like, you'd be more than welcome to come along and visit them any time you like, and groom them and take it for a ride and all that. I've named a few of them, but it's not like they're all really mine...

I would not mind visit them, when I have some free time from the clinic yes. Is it hard to ride one?

Great! Well, they'll all just be standing around here, pretty much.

*Selphie shakes her head, patting the side of one of the birds*

Nah, it's pretty easy. Can you ride a horse?

[Angelina nods.]

Yes, I learned how to ride when I was young.

*Selphie grins and claps her hands*

Then it'll be a breeze for ya!

Wonderful! I am certainly eager to try!
