[The second Sola discovered the nature of the bubble's new game, he hit the ground running. Quests? Potions? The chance to help everyone and be a hero? This is definitely right up his alley!

This week and next Sola can be found running around more than usual. He's even taken up residence in the "Inn" for the duration, sleeping there every night instead of at his own house. The innkeeper will be happier that way, right?

Sola will take on any and every task and in order to find them all, he's going out of his way to talk to everyone, so he can be seen conversing with NPCs a lot. Y'know, when he's not out fighting wolves for their teeth and shanks, delivering a message for a lazy shopkeeper, or cleaning up in front of the bakery every damn day this week (rotten kids!). Of course, some of these quests he needs help with; what's a warrior on a group quest without some support, right?]

((ooc: Sola's all about the level grinding for this curse! If anyone would like to help out/ complete a quest with him, please just comment below with the quest title in the link. I'll set up a few that I've already worked out with people (as such, those are closed to just the people in question). The threads don't have to be the quests themselves, they can just be talking after, or setting up to go out! And don't be surprise if Sola mentions something about the coral to every single one of you.))

[On their way back to the Bug-eyed man, Sola just can't stop taking the jewel out to stare at. It's just so pretty...]

...What if we just said we couldn't find it?

[He hadn't really been paying attention, he was more than happy to just get this one over with, but Sola's question caught his attention and he gave the hylian a curious look.]

Why? So we could keep it? There's no real reason for that. Besides, that wouldn't really be getting the quest done, now would it?

[He was going to say something about lying was bad but he doesn't feel like being a hypocrite today.]

But it's really pretty...

[He holds it up to the light, watching it sparkle.]

He wouldn't ever know, since he lost it anyway.

[Where was this coming from..?

Regardless, he shook his head and held out his hand.]

That's not the right thing to do Sola, we should give it back.

If you want something pretty, I'll find something for you later.

[Instead of handing it over, Sola recoils from Johnny's hand, holding the gem to his chest.]

No, I want this one!

[Okay, no, this wasn't Sola behavior.]

What's going on with you? You're not acting normal.

[Maybe...maybe it was the gem? He'd heard of cursed objects, and they'd always seemed to be a popular thing in Toki's games so maybe that's what this was.

He put his hand out and kept his tone even but firm.]

Sola give me the gem, I think you've held onto it long enough.

I'm acting fine, you just want it for yourself!

[Sola stops and steps back from Johnny suspiciously, as if the vampire would take the gem from him.]

It's mine!

[Ok, this was just ridiculous. There was that one spell he had...well, he might as well try it.]

Sorry, Sola.

[He moved within reach, pulled his arm back and slapped Sola clean across the cheek. He did his best to make sure there was minimal strength behind it...]

[Sola freezes in place, staring up at Johnny with wide eyes and his cheek stinging.

Johnny hit him?

True, it broke the jewel's spell over him, his expression no longer twisted in greed as he silently hands the stone over without so much as a glance at it, but he looks so utterly betrayed. Johnny had never raised a finger to him in violence yet here they stand with Sola's cheek smarting and red. Tears sting the corners of his eyes.]

You hit me...

[Johnny tucked the jewel away without even a glance.]

I'm sorry, you weren't acting yourself, I think you were under some kind of spell...it was the only way I could think of to snap you out of it.

[Yeah, that didn't really help the guilt any. If Sola would let him, he was going to pull him into a tight hug.]

[He lets Johnny draw him into a hug, patting at his cheek. It's swelled a tiny bit, but the sting is mostly faded already.]

It's okay... It just really surprised me.

[He does feel like a fog's lifted from his mind though. He indulges himself for a moment, burrowing into Johnny's shoulder before pulling back to look at him seriously.]

I think the jewel has a curse on it or something. We should tell him when we give it back.

[Johnny put his hand against Sola's cheek and let a heal spell take the sting away.]

Yeah...though, it might be that he was the one who put it there himself.

Why would he curse it so other people would steal it? That's kinda stupid.

[He closes his eyes as the magic soothes him then darts in to plant a peck of a kiss on Johnny's cheek. A split second later he's pulled away and on their way again, the tips of his ears bright red at having done so.

It's not like he forgives you or anything, Johnny.]

Sometimes people are stupid-

[Oh...ok.

He smiled to himself, his own cheeks taking on a bit of color, before following after.

The sooner this dumb jewel was out of their hands, the better.]
