Who: Yukari and Mat
Where: The plaza
When: Backdated the morning after this.
Style: [brackets because we're cool cats]
Status: Closed
[The morning after she'd spoken to Mat, Yukari slept in as planned; though by the time 11am drew near, she was already dressed and ready to go. She's not particularly a fan of keeping people waiting-- and plus she's eager to see these bows of his, and to make her own, so she scurries to the Plaza, where she knew she'd have to wait.
She doesn't mind that, though. Luckily there are benches near the coral, so -- she's sitting comfortable with her SFC in her hand, staving off the wait by texting, as she usually does. Occasionally she'll look up to see if Mat's arrived, but . . . well, it's not like he's late.

This walk isn't very long at all, but, instead of small talk, Mat explains what they're going to do when they get there and how. He'll show her first, but since this is her bow, she should be the one to do most of it.]
Got it?
no subject
Yeah, I think so.
[Then she'll just repeat his explanation back to him for confirmation, as they reach the end of the path.]
no subject
You got it right, but I'll still show you first. Hearing it and seeing it are different.
[He walks over to the plant and follows his own instructions, laying the piece beside him when he's done.]
no subject
I'll use this one.
no subject
no subject
. . . No.
[She'll just be holding out her hand, ready to catch it.]
no subject
He tosses it with a flourish, sending it end over end in an arc toward her.]
Catch.
1/2
no subject
Phew, she caught it. She looks relieved, because that could've ended horribly; especially since he seemed more worried about the flourish than handing it over safely.
If he were Junpei, he would've gotten an earful, but since he isn't . . . she just lets out a sigh, and uses the knife to carve and do exactly what Mat just did.]
no subject
But that was why he wanted to toss it next to her. After she held her hand out...him tossing it next to her and her trying to catch it seemed even worse than just tossing it too her.
It was still a relief she caught it safely.]
I won't do that next time I need to give a knife to someone. [She kinda looked like she wanted to scold him...]
no subject
[Said dryly, and she even takes a pause in her carving to give him the full effect of her Look. A few seconds later though, and she's back to work with a shake of her head --
And eventually she finishes. It's lucky there's still some good light out here, despite the trees.]
There. How's that look?
[Not quiiiiiite done and it looks a bit different from his, but --
Progress?]
no subject
Good for the first time doing it. [He nods and continues to carve some more pieces himself.]
no subject
[He looked at it so critically that she does the same; and she scratches the back of her neck a little, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Shrugging it off though, she continues as well. And eventually, after copying him, messing up, redoing, nitpicking --
She finishes.]
(( ooc: okay with a timeskip here? :> ))
no subject
He'd forgotten how long it takes when someone first starts making them.]
(( ooc: Yep! ))
no subject
Whoa -- nice progress.
[More than her, but that's to be expected.]
no subject
This is the third time I've done this since I've got here. I've just practiced more.
I think if we make a couple more we'll be done.
no subject
She figures if she makes one, she can make the other.]
Good.
Not that I mind breaking a sweat, but it'll be nice how this all turns out.
no subject
He shakes his head. Enough with that. He gets back to finishing his last piece.]
no subject
. . .
Another quiet moment as they both concentrate, and suddenly she holds up the piece in triumph.]
There!
no subject
Let's go back to the Winespring then. I can show you the next step when we get back, or we can continue tomorrow. Your choice.
[It really shouldn't be put off more than that. He grabs his pieces, carrying them rather awkwardly because of the ashandarei.]
no subject
Let's finish this.
[She's carrying her own pieces, but, using body language, offers to carry some of his as well, if he needs it. She's pretty sure she can manage . . . maybe.]
no subject
Ready?
good handwaving point around here, if you want to :>
[Seems like he's got it. She simply watches as he rearranges everything, but when it seems like he's ready as well, she leads the way. She knows where the Winespring is now, after all!
And off they go again; with the ocean above them considerably darker than before.]
\o
Now with that finished, Mat leans back in his chair.]
You'll need to wait a bit before you can use it, but except for that it's done.
