Who: Cielo and whoever else is out in this weather
Where: The island! On the beach!
When: Afternoon
Style: Whichever [suits you]
Status: Open
[Cielo didn't know it was raining when he went up to the island, but once the doors to the elevator open, all he does is look up for a moment and then step out into it. It's the first time he's seen rain in Vatheon - the bubble's weather is mostly the same and every other time he's been on the island, it's been bright and sunny.
He loves that bright and sunny weather of course, but rain brings back memories. Memories of the Junkyard. Cielo has no love for the world he comes from, but the rain is soothing all the same. If he were to be honest, sometimes he did miss the sound of falling droplets.
The beach looks really different like this. It's not bad. Just...different. He had originally come up to fly and swim, and that was what he was going to do. He gets right into the water and swims for a while, eventually returning to the beach where he sits down and takes a break, looking out at the ocean.
In the rain.]

[What Cielo means by that incredibly vague statement is that he can't use magic as a human, and he's a little jealous of all the humans here that can.]
I could show you, though.
no subject
I'd appreciate that a lot, if you don't mind too much.

[Although it could be dangerous, Cielo always likes it when people express interest in his abilities (and by extension, his Atma). The tattoo on his right leg glows, and and that sure is a demon where Cielo once was. Without even waiting for a reaction, he starts casting, clasping his hands together and releasing the spell with a roar, a soft light surrounding his body. Had Cielo been injured, wounds on his body would have started to mend.]
no subject
[His confidence on that point wavers slightly as a looming, humanoid creature appears where Cielo was just standing. Before he can begin to process the physiology of the being before him, his eyes struggle to adjust to the superhuman glow it begins to emit.
His eyebrows rise as he pushes his glasses closer to his face, straining to absorb every detail of Cielo's sudden transformation.]
Fascinating. Is this your true form?
[He'll get to the less obvious questions once the shock wears off.]
no subject
[His voice is deeper and beastly, fitting for this form. He hops off the sand, hovering a couple feet off the ground. His demon might be humanoid in shape, but he was much more comfortable in the air.]
One day, this was forced on me.
[There's no bitterness in his words - he's grown to appreciate what Dyaus gives him.]
But this is also a part of who I am, so you could say I'm both human and demon, ja?
no subject
That's...interesting.]
So someone gave you the ability to turn into a demon, and now you can change forms at will?
[He's almost physically itching to get a genetic sample from Cielo, but he'll get a little more background information before he starts asking for those kinds of favors.]
no subject
[There was more to it than that, of course.]
Don't know who did it or why or why - just one day everybody in the world I come from got demons and emotions.
[And hunger but nope, not talking about that.]
no subject
[Shinra continues observing Cielo's demon form as he speaks. The creature seems fairly homologous to humans, excluding the unusual crest on top of his head. Perhaps it serves as some kind of sensory receptor?]
no subject
[He's aware that this sounds strange and far fetched, but that's what happened. His memory is unclear about what exactly happened after that, but he knows what happened. It wasn't pretty.]
no subject
A black object? Like a sort of stone or meteor, or was it something artificially made?
[Far-fetched isn't too much of a problem for him. His own life is a bit of a fairy tale, so he's pretty used to suspending his disbelief.]
no subject
Definitely manmade. Nothing natural where I come from.
no subject
[Interesting really doesn't begin to cut it. He's burning to peruse deeper into the world Cielo came from, but he has a few more pressing questions to attend to while he's still in his demon form.]
So, can you do any other tricks with that body?
no subject
Other kinds of magic too. I know electricity, support, and sleep magic. [And he could learn more, except the means to do so do not exist in Vatheon.] Like this, I'm resistant to electrical attacks.
[And weak to ailments, but that's not a perk so he doesn't mention it. He does a little backflip in the air, flapping his wings.]
I can fly too, as you can see.
[Funny, seeing is one of the things he can't do in this form due to a lack of eyes.]
no subject
How exactly does that work? Does your body insulate against electrical currents?
[He starts to lift up a hand to test the demon's skin just as it leaps into a backflip. Startled by the sudden movement, he chuckles and instead runs his fingers through his hair.]
I was able to figure that one out for myself.
no subject
I think it's just a natural affinity for it, ja?
[Oh, did you want to touch his wings or something Shinra? He'll hold still for you now.]
no subject
[He takes a step towards the demon and runs a few fingers against his skin, humming thoughtfully as he takes stock of its texture.
Granted, his curiosity for what lies under that skin is growing with each passing second. Hooking him up to some electrical capacitors might be interesting too...ah, so many options.]
no subject
[He was certainly surprised the first time a demon tried to use Hama spells on him as a human and he found they did nothing.]
no subject
[Just when he thought he was starting to get a handle on this whole demon-alternate-universe business, Cielo throws something else at Shinra's poor baffled mind.]
As in...lasers...?
no subject
Opposite of darkness, ja? We call them Expel skills where I come from.
no subject
[He has pretty much no idea what Cielo's talking about now.]
Would it be too much to ask for a demo?
no subject
All the ones I knew disappeared when I came here, and there isn't any way for me to relearn them.
[All of that macca that was spent learning them down the drain.]
no subject
[The 'relearning' process raises a few more questions, but he's already got a pretty long queue of ideas to throw at Cielo. Understanding takes patience and perseverance, a wise man once said.]
I wonder...is the trait for being able to shift into that demon form hereditary?
no subject
I don't have a family.
no subject
[He fails to notice his own awkward silence as he taps a finger on his chin, just staring at Cielo's form for a bit longer.]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't seem to have any eyes in that body.
[That only took him ages to realize.]
no subject
You're right. I can't see like this. But I don't need to.
[He can hear, smell, feel, and in general just sense where things are and what they're doing.]
