*Five minutes early. Well waiting wasn't so bad, she supposed. Leaning against the coral, she stares up at the waters above.

Meeting a total stranger face-to-face is rather nervous task for her, but she'll try her best to, in a way, fulfill her duties. Come to think of it, this is her first time doing anything else a Welcoming Committee member, isn't it? She hope she can do a good job of guiding him.

She checks her communicator - it's eight - and searches the streets for the red-haired man.

He won't be late, would he?*

*Of course he wouldn't be late! In fact, he's just around the other side of the coral the entire time. It isn't as if he has any major commitments he needs to take care of first. In fact he suspects Zelda would much rather have him out from under foot, but that's to be expected, considering.

At three minutes past, Zelos does a round of the coral and finally comes across Fuuka. He puts on a sheepish, apologetic expression; it wasn't lost on him that Fuuka seemed more comfortable when he wasn't blatantly flirting during their previous conversation, so he could definitely play the hapless idiot if it would put her at ease.*

There you are! I'm really sorry I'm late. Guess I was just standing on the wrong side of this thing. *He points a thumb at the coral behind them*

*And it does. Although the missing flirtation doesn't go unnoticed, she's relieved by it. She starts with a reassuring smile.*

Oh, so that's where you were. It's okay! It's pretty big coral after all.

*And she's pretty sure he's still disoriented from being thrown into Vatheon - she can't be too hard on the guy.*

By the way, I don't think I introduced myself yet? My name is Fuuka Yamagishi. Nice to meet you, Zelos-san.

*Yamagishi. It sounds Mizuhoean. Mizuhoish? Mizu-... Sounds like she was from Mizuho. He remembers a mention Sheena made about the "Sun World" once, a place that people from Mizuho say they're from in the time of their ancestors or something. Truthfully he hadn't been paying much attention, but now he wishes he had. Perhaps it wasn't all bunk and Fuuka was from that very world. In any case, he knew enough of Mizuho culture and honorifics from Sheena that he might be able to surprise Fuuka.*

Oh. Nice to meet you tooo ... *Fuuka is surprised to hear the honorifics used because Zelos looks quite different from what you'd expect a Japanese boy to look like with his red hair and blue eyes. She blinks up at him.*

I don't hear people call me that except from my friends ...

Aww, are we not friends? *He pouts handsomely for a moment, then looks sheepish.* Well, I guess that is a little too familiar for a first meeting. Sorry about that!

[angelicvoice]

Ah no. It's okay. I'm rather happy.

*It feels like the part of her that was always afraid of others was beginning to fade away. So she smiles back, equally sheepish.*

You can call me that if you'd like Zelos-san.

*Ahh~ She's so cute when she smiles~*

You can just call me Zelos, hunny.♥ So are you hungry? I thought maybe we could get a bite to eat before heading to the pet shop.

*Not that he needed to eat, but a lunch date calls for a meal.*

O-oh okay ... Zelos. *It is still a little awkward, calling him without an honorific. Even with Minato or Junpei, she had always attached some sort of honorific behind their name.

But it is a new experience. She will just need to try her best to adjust to it.* I promised that I would introduce a good restaurant to you after all.

*So maybe it was a little difficult to tone it down; at least he's careful to keep his hands to himself.*

*Fuuka gladly does so. The restaurant is thankfully not that far away from the coral. It's not the most fancy place in Vatheon but the smell in the air is enough to tell the pedestrians that their food is delicious.*

We're here. *She turns to Zelos* It's not that big, but I really like their dishes here. I hope you do too.

If you like it I'm sure I will too.

*And frankly, it does smell very good. Nothing like Wonder Chef, but that's too much to ask even on his planet usually. Unless you're Regal.*

Do you have a favorite food? Maybe we could have that, if they can make it with local stuff. I'm always up for trying new things.

*He has to try very hard to keep that phrase from sounding dirty but somehow he manages.*

We're in luck in that case. They have my favorite dish on the menu.

*Happily oblivious Fuuka thinks it's rather gentlemanly of him offer to eat her favorite food. Maybe she should rethink about the statement she said about Junpei-kun and Zelos being similar.*

It's type of seafood pasta. So the ingredients are, well, fresh.

*His eyes light up and his grin grows wider* That sounds great! Pasta is my favorite.

*He takes a step ahead as they get to the restaurant and holds the door open for her to go through first. Gentlemanly indeed! Say what you will about Zelos, but he knows how to treat a lady.*

Thank you ...

*She says gratefully as she enters. She feels like she should bow her head too with the thank you, but she also didn't want him to have culture shock either. And as soon as they enter, a chic interior welcomes them. She points to the table near the window.*

How about that table over there?

*And with that single word he slides lightly over to the table she'd indicated and pulled out a chair, flourishing with his hand to indicate she should take a seat.*

Um, thank you.

*It's a little embarrassing to take the seat b-because isn't this what a couple would usually do on dates ...? But Fuuka based on her observation passes it off as his personality. It does make her cheeks stop flushing though. Once Zelos too sits down, she hands him the menu on the table. *

I know we decided on the pasta but here. Just in case there is anything else you might want to get.

Hmm, maybe if they have those garlic bread knots. Have you ever had those?

*It may not be a date, per se, but really any time with Zelos feels like one. He's really only got a couple ways of interacting that he's comfortable with and showing a girl a fun time is default.*

So how long have you been in Vatheon?

*-That indeed is the impression she is getting ...*

I had garlic bread before but not garlic bread knots. Are they similar ..?

*The next question is fairly common here, but whenever someone asks her, she has to recount the months she has been here. It's always a surprise just how long she has been here.*

It has been ... wow, almost half an year. Time flies by very quickly.

They're pretty much the same only they tie the dough in a knot before they bake it.

*He glances over the menu briefly just to see but it looks like he's out of luck.*

Hmm, not here. Guess I'll have to make them myself sometime.

*a blink*

Really, half a year? That's quite awhile. Anything interesting about the city I should know?

O-oh you cook. That's very nice ... *She wishes she can say the same (mental sob).*

Anything interesting about the city ... Well, there is a 'curse' every month or so for a week. A lot of different things have happened, to harmless handicaps to a monster attacking.

It's very unpredictable place ...

Yeah, mostly to pass the time.

*The curses he'd been told about, but not what they entail. Monsters weren't a big deal, he'd had a lot of experience with those, but handicaps worried him*

Handicaps like what?

Well, there has been so many ...

*What would be a good example? Fuuka pauses to think about this.*

It varies. It can be something harmless like singing a song or being in different clothes. It can also be something troubling like losing a certain memory or your body suddenly changing.

*Singing or changing clothes he could handle, but memory or body modification? Out of the question!*

[angelicvoice]

I don't think so. That's why it's a big problem for us foreigners.

*Fuuka looks apologetic. If it weren't for these curses, Vatheon would be a pretty decent place to live ... It's no fun, discovering the bad side of Vatheon*

But don't worry. From what I've seen, we aren't always affected.
