[Colette hadn't needed to stay in her apartment as she had for most of the week, but being outside was still a relief. So was being able to talk again. She grinned and leaned forward a little, moving the straw in her own soda around slowly.]

Yep! A lot of people gave me ideas and someone sent a robotic training partner to my apartment. I'm not sure who the person who sent it to me is though.

[She blinks, remembering something. It wouldn't hurt to ask...] And I'm trying to find weapons like the ones we had when we started, or joined, the Journey of Regeneration because a girl named Kairi wants to learn how to fight and those were the things I think I might be able to help her learn how to use. Do you think you can help me get them?

Huh? Sure, I'm pretty sure we can find some lower tier weaponry somewhere. That Nostalgia Nook place might have some old chakram.

[He stretches a bit, nibbling at one of the sandwiches.] I'd be careful with the robot though, if you don't know where it came from. Who knows what it might do.

Yeah, I was thinking about checking there first. It wouldn't just be old chakrams though. It'd be...[She thinks for a moment, still moving the soda straw around.] an old axe, an old pair of swords, an old sword, an old dagger, a kendama, a staff that isn't very heavy, an old pair of greaves, and I don't think we'll ever find cards like Sheena's. That seems like only something Sheena would know how to teach to someone else anyway.

[She blinks and takes a drink of her soda.] He seemed nice! And I think he's one of the trolls. He typed in blue or indigo and before all his sentences he put...hold on.

[She grabs the sketchpad she got last week from the small bag she's taken to carrying around with her and writes D --> like it was in all the texts she received. And showing it to him now. She must've really missed talking] this.

[Zelos takes a look at her little drawing and lightens up a bit]

Oh, must be Darkleer. He's not so bad. Zelda trusts him, at least.

[Maybe there's a good segue...]

Actually, that's something I wanted to tell you. See, Zelda kind of asked me about my crystal and I know you didn't really want anyone to know, but.. well, she's sort of persistent. I kind of maybe possibly told her what it was and about the chosen system.

[Smooth, Zelos. Real smooth.]

Darkleer? I'll remember that.

[She blinks. He told Zelda...? She giggles and hides her mouth with a hand, even though she already laughed, to hide her grin. It's probably a good thing he told me that; otherwise I'd have to find some other time to tell him I'm not actively trying to hide it anymore.]

I haven't been trying to hide it since the confession curse, not really. If it comes up, I'm going tell them now. I already told Kohaku about my crystal, since I mentioned I can't get sick, or at least I can't get sick back home, so don't worry about telling Zelda. I won't tell them that you're a Chosen if you don't want me to though, if it ever comes up.

Besides, no one seems to act any different around me because of what I said during the confession curse, so it might not be as important as I thought to keep it hidden!

[That was the entire reason after all. I didn't want people to know because I thought they would treat me differently after they knew. If I hide it from them, they'd probably treat me differently-worse than if I had just told them the first time it comes up. She stops talking and looks down, thinking again. After a moment she looks up. It may not be all that important, but...]

Remember how I said Shing and Kohaku's world uses Gald? During that curse, Shing told me that they have two worlds too, but one had been 'calcified' because it lacked life. The other world was full of life, just like Tethe'Alla was. From what Shing said, it sounds like no one was trying to keep both worlds alive. And the man they fought was trying to resurrect his love, like Mithos tried to resurrect Martel except Martel was Mithos' sister not his lover. Those two tried to end a war with the help of one of their friends too, like Mithos, Yuan, Martel, and Kratos did.

[She's quiet for a moment, idly moving the straw around. She frowns, obviously troubled by the similarities between Kohaku and Shing's worlds and their own.]

...He also said Kohaku basically lost her heart for a while. Their world sounds so similar to ours. Shing doesn't think there's anything like the Chosen One's system there though.

[She takes a bite out of a sandwich, done talking for a moment. She had almost expected it to hurt to talk so much so soon after the last curse since she lost her voice. Then again, it hadn't hurt to talk when she got her voice back so long ago in their own world either.]

[There is no way Zelos will allow the amount of horror he feels show on his face as Colette explains this other world. It shouldn't even be possible, the parallels between there and Aselia, but he knows Colette has no reason to lie.

Zelos sips his drink to buy himself some time, still looking as impassive and unaffected as ever. Finally he just decides it's too much to deal with and has nothing to do with them, anyway.]

Seems like everyone's world here ended up going through some kind of trouble.

[A subject change right about now would be great.]

So have you seen Lloyd lately? He was trying to pawn some of his dad's soup off on me during the curse, I hope you were spared!

[He doesn't need to show it; she had felt that same horror when she first found out about herself. She doesn't know for sure that he's horrified, but since she was, he probably is horrified too. They may not be very similar, but they still are similar.

She finishes her sandwich and starts on a second one, just taking a bite before setting it down. She nods in response and drops that subject. Huh?]

No, I haven't seen Lloyd since we talked during the fairytale curse.

[A blink. He mentioned Lloyd's dad and he hates Kratos so he must be talking about Dirk! Dirk's soup...]

You mean he tried giving you Dwarven potluck surprise? It's really good!

You mean you actually like it?! You must have a cast-iron stomach, Colette! I swear he puts rocks in it or something.

[He polishes off his drink and looks at Colette sidelong.]

I'm surprised he didn't bring you any during the curse, though.

[She grins and closes her eyes.]

Yep! Heheh, he might've! You make it by turning off the lights, grabbing everything you can, and tossing it into the pot! I've gotten a boot before.

[She smiles at him, looking a bit uncomfortable.]

I lost my voice during the curse, remember? It's been a long time for us, but from where he's from I only got my soul back recently. That might be why. I still clearly remember everything that happened then, so I'm actually kinda glad he didn't bring me anything during the curse.

[Ah memories...She's just going to drink her own drink now and take another bite of that sandwich.]

I can't really get all that excited about a boot in my food.

[He laughs a little.]

Look, I know I was the one who wanted to be careful but I've thought about it a lot and there's really no reason to avoid him or anything, so if you want to contact him or talk to him about anything, it should be okay. I do get that it's awkward though, talking with him like everything's the same but knowing he doesn't remember everything.

[Sigh.]

The boot didn't taste bad...

[She blinks.]

I'm not trying to avoid him! I only left my apartment once last week to get some more food so I never sought him out.

[She shakes her head. Not remembering everything is the same as forgetting something and he hasn't forgotten anything. Whoops you accidentally triggered some feelings there Zelos.] There's nothing Lloyd's not remembering because it hasn't happened for him yet! Things not happening yet is different from someone not remembering those things.

Ahh, Colette, calm down Hunny, you know I didn't mean it like that. I just mean... there's things that happened - or will happen, for him - that sometimes I sort of want to bring up but he won't get it 'cause it hasn't happened yet for him. I didn't mean anything about memory but you can't remember something you haven't experienced yet, you know?

[He's honestly apologetic, though. The last thing he ever wants to do is upset Colette.]

[She smiles at him, though its a bit forced. She can't pretend to be fine immediately after yelling like that.] I know...just not remembering reminds me of when I lost...

[She trails off and an honest smile crosses her face a moment later.] I sometimes want to talk about things that haven't happened yet for him too. Sure, some things I don't ever want to tell him, but others...I think I just want to talk to him again without having to hide anything. Growing up, there was so much I couldn't tell him, and I guess that habit stuck. You know I hid things from all of you during the journey.

[They sure could use a change of subject again...She takes another bite of a sandwich and drinks some more of her own drink.]

[Yes, yes they definitely could. Zelos isn't about to touch the topic of hiding things with a ten foot pole. He's the king of secrets and misdirection, after all, and Colette hid things so as not to worry everyone. Zelos hid things because he's a coward, or so he tells himself.]

So I'm sorry I never ended up getting you that puppy. We should get on that one of these days. What kind of dog would you want?

[He didn't even bother with a segue. That's how uncomfortable that topic makes him.]

[She really doesn't mind the lack of a segue. A different topic is very much appreciated. She blinks, thinks for a moment, holding a finger close to her mouth, and smiles.]

A big or a medium sized dog, not a small or huge one. It'd probably be a good thing if it's easy to train since I haven't trained a dog before...Heheh, I've been reading a lot of books about dogs recently and I think if we can find a Border Collie, that'd be the one I'd pick!

[Luckily, she got a Border Collie plush at Christmas so she knows what one looks like. reference Can you tell I like Border Collies?]

Well, there's a pet store here in the city we could check out if you wanted, but the last time I was there the idiot who runs the place lost control of a snake and it bit the hunny I was with. We'll have to keep on our toes, if we go. I'm not sure if I trust the place.

[She blinks.]

Wouldn't a pet store be the first place to check for a pet? Unless someone else here owns a dog, I don't think we'll be able to find a dog anywhere else. If someone here is a dog, I don't think they'd like to be someone's pet or have their child be someone's pet.

I'd rather try the pet store, even if it means there's a chance of getting bit. We've both gotten bitten before.

[She smiles. Basically, "Let's try the pet store, Zelos. We can take care of ourselves if something does escape."]

Yeah, I guess it's kind of the only place, I just want us to be on our toes. I'd be pretty pissed if something happened again, y'know? I did sort of want to ask that big white dog I see around sometimes; she seems smart and ready to protect someone, but she's got a mind of her own so I guess that's out.

[Whoops, did he let out that he wanted to get something to protect her? Well, it's not a huge secret. Obviously he cares about what happens to his sweet little angel cutie.]

Yeah. I'm glad you mentioned it. It's nice to know something might happen when we're there.

[She smiles and shakes her head at him. It's really not a secret at all; he's told her that before as well as shown it.]

All dogs protect people Zelos. No matter what kind of dog it is, they protect their owner, friends, parents, kids, toys, anything they like. It's just how they are.

I guess I can see why you like them so much, then.

[He smiles broadly at her.]

Just let me know when you're ready to go and we can see what kind of puppies they have, okay?

Heheh, I'm glad!

[Dogs didn't treat me differently from anyone else who they liked and their owner didn't mind. She grins and finishes her drink and one last sandwich.]

Then can we go now?

[She's nearly bouncing in her seat. Puppies to look at!]

[He laughs again and rises from his seat, having expected that reaction.]

Sure, c'mon. Maybe they'll have that boarder collie you want.

[He holds his hand down to her to help her up. He's such a gentleman in small ways♥]

[She's really kinda predictable when it comes to dogs...She grins up at him and takes his hand.]

I hope they do!

[Just look at them so cute.]

[Zelos rests her hand in the crook of his arm, just like a noble, and starts strolling off with her down the lane for the pet shop.]

They might have more exotic stuff too, y'know? I've been wondering about those giant birds that some people have. And the pokemon, but those seem pretty dangerous if you ask me.

[He glances off as they walk.]

I wonder if I should get a pet too.

[She's really not used to holding onto someone's arm as she walks and it shows as she starts walking a bit faster, then slows down to match his speed. Even if she had been used to holding someone's arm as she walked, the same thing would've happened. She really wants to get to that pet store. She smiles up at him.]

They might! Maybe you should ask someone who has one about it the next time you see them. If you don't ask, you might never know!

[She grins.]

Do you want to get a pet?

Hmm, I dunno! I've never really had one before so I don't have a frame of reference. Maybe something like a bird or a rabbit? If Zelda'll even let me have one in the house, she's got all these rules!

[He wiggles his fingers like rules are some detestable thing but really he doesn't mind.

He's also worried about what would happen to a pet if he were to suddenly get transported home but he's aware that if he voices that concern, it would worry Colette as well so he keeps it to himself.]

[She frowns a little and looks towards the ground, thinking.]

I'm not sure how you'd take care of either of them...You should ask Zelda before you get a pet though, since you live together.

[A couple moments later she blinks and looks up with a smile.]

Do you know what kind of animals she likes? If you get a pet that she likes, she might help you take care of it!

[She's already thought about what would happen to her puppy if she disappeared. She's already decided ask Zelos or Lloyd to take care of him/her if they're still there (and if Zelda's okay with a puppy or dog in her house in Zelos' case).]

I've got no idea, though she's got a bird on one of her dresses so maybe that?

[He'd noticed she was enamored with him as a damned unicorn but since he'd chosen to forget all about that curse he didn't bring it up. Plus he doesn't really want a horse anyway.]

I'm not gonna make her take care of my pet though. If it's mine, it's my responsibility. It's not like I don't have the time, anyway.

Maybe!

[Poor Zelos. She blinks.]

I didn't mean...I meant that if you were busy out of the house and she was home, she might feed it or let it exercise if it needed to.

[She laughs a little.]

We both have a lot of time, don't we?

Pretty much nothing but time! I've been teaching myself some things. I mastered cooking and I've got card houses down. Lloyd's supposed to maybe teach me some metal work, actually, but I haven't brought it up again yet. I should do that sometime.

Heheh, yep! I've mainly been making sure that when I actually get a puppy I'll be able to take care of it. [Which is to say she's been reading and organizing things so her stuff won't get all chewed up when she gets one. And getting Frisbees, agility stuff, and toys. A grin.]

You should! We should make the best of our time here and learn all we can, even if we won't remember if or when we go back home.

Mostly I'm just trying to keep from getting bored, but with all the stuff the bubble throws at us I guess I shouldn't be trying quite so hard. Still, learning things to better my already fabulous self can't be bad~♥

[He flashes his charming smile at Colette and reaches to hold the door of the pet store open for her, checking first for runaway snakes or other dangers.]

I guess it'd be hard to get bored here! Between the things thrown at us and the new things here, there's always something you can do that you haven't done before.

[She smiles back and goes inside the pet store. Looking around, she spots the puppies in a corner.]

Over here, Zelos!

[The red-head trots after his blonde companion to take a little at the puppies. They're certainly adorable little critters, all wiggly and happy like that. Honestly, they remind him of Colette and Lloyd. Especially the sable puppy trying to climb its way out of the pen to say hello, not so much wagging its tail as it's whole body.]

Look at that, they're so cute!

Yep!

[That puppy is so cute. She reaches in the pen carefully to let the puppies sniff her before she tries to pick one up. The first one she reaches for is the sable, noticing its excitement. She giggles when it licks her and continues wiggling.]

This one seems nice! It's a Border Collie too!

[The puppy in her arms turn to look at Zelos, still wriggling.]

[Zelos leans in to take a closer look and gets treated to a barrage of wet puppy kisses as well. He sputters a bit and laughs, trying to get his head back out of the way before the little dog tangles itself up in his hair.]

Pretty friendly, too! You sure you don't want to look at the others too, though? There's lots of choices.

[He looks over the rest of the puppies in the pen, all squirming around for attention and being completely adorable with their little yaps and full body wagging.]

I dunno, I couldn't choose. They're all so cute♥

[She giggles and looks back at the puppies in the pen, still holding the sable puppy.]

None of the others are Border Collies. And this one seems to like both of us already!

[And he/she is really really adorable!~~...is this puppy a guy or a girl...~~She looks at the puppies in the pen again, thinking. They are all cute...She's not sure how many of them would like Zelos, and like she said none of the other are Border Collies.]

Do you think they'd let me play with the puppies once in a while? I can't take them all home but I'd love to play with them.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Actually, since we were just talking about being bored, maybe they'd let you work here! Y'know, feed all the animals, walk the dogs, that sort of thing. Then you could play with the puppies all you want.

[He scratches the sable behind the ears, causing the puppy to yap happily.]

Best part is I bet they'd let you bring your dog in too since it's obviously an animal friendly place, so he wouldn't be alone all day. What are you gonna name him, anyway?

[She grins at him.]

I should ask them then. I think it'd be fun! And it'd be good for him to be around other dogs too.

[She blinks.]

What about Caramel? [She looks at the puppy in her arms.] He looks like a Caramel.

Caramel's a great name! It really suits him. Why don't you go ahead and talk to the shop keeper about a job while I grab some food and things for you and maybe have a look at the birds.

Alright! I'll help you carry them out though.

[She walks over to the shop keeper with the newly named Caramel in her arms and starts talking to him.]

[Zelos, on the other hand, does a round of the shop, picking up a few dog-related supplies for Colette on the way, but he pauses in front of the large cage of birds, a pair in particular in the corner catching his eye. Eagerly, he takes out his SFC and puts in a quick call to Zelda, showing her the birds via video, but she tells him they'll discuss it later and he pops the starfish back in his pocket, mildly disappointed.

Of course none of that shows on his face when he heads over to Colette at the counter, puppy food and a collar in hand.]

Well? What's the verdict?

[She grins at him, noticing the food and collar in his hands and his lack of a bird. Whether that means Zelda didn't say yes or that he didn't look, she doesn't know and she doesn't ask.]

He says I can work here as long as I don't skip a lot of days in a row! He also gave me some tips for taking care of dogs.

Great! Well it sounds like you're all set up, Colette-hunny.

[He smiles broadly.]

I wasn't sure what you'd already gotten but I figured food and a collar you probably hadn't yet.

Yep!

[She grins.]

Thanks Zelos! Did you see any leashes? It'd be hard to get back to my apartment carrying Caramel the whole way.

I didn't snag one. Here, we'll put the collar on him and I'll grab a leash for ya~ Just sit tight!

[He plunks the food down and snaps the collar around Caramel's neck, using two fingers to make sure there was enough room for it to move around and not choke the little dog, then he heads back to the rack of all the dog things and grabs a few other supplies; a leash, a brush, some treats... anything that Colette would need to get started with a puppy. It's all free, so why not get one of everything?]

[She just nods and stands there like he asked, petting or scratching Caramel behind the ears and giggling whenever he licks her. He tries scratching at the collar a couple of times, but she always moves his paws away while telling him "bad".

And if she needs something else, she can just show up and get it!

She grins when he comes back.]

Let's hook his leash up and bring all this stuff to my place.

[It takes several minutes to get Caramel to sit still long enough to put on his leash and Zelos looks quite harassed after the ordeal, though not in poor spirits. He takes all the bags of puppy supplies in hand and trots along after Colette as she walks the puppy back to her apartment, confident in his fellow Chosen's ability to take care of it.

He's happy for her. She'd always wanted a dog but being the Chosen, well... You don't want to leave anything behind. Now, though, she has the chance since there's no sign of being sent back and he's glad she's allowing herself to indulge.

The dog is pretty damn cute, too.

He helps her get set up around the apartment, playing fetch and tug rope for a little before he needs to be on his way; he's going to do some research on places they can get a good training workout. With a smile and a promise to come play, Zelos heads back out into the evening air.]
