Still a Coward
Who: Izaya and Jacob
Where: Jacob's home
When: Friday Night
Style: Actionnnn
Status: Closed
[His first plan had been to run off to the island but that wasn't that smart on his part. He wanted to be entirely alone. It made him realize that he needed to get a second place for when he needed these moments.
But then at some point as he was running from literally everything, he suddenly thought of one person that maybe, just maybe, would take him in. Of course he had plenty of people in Vatheon just below his fingers.
Right now, he just needed the right type of person to be around.
That person just so happened to live in a mysterious cabin like house. It took Izaya a while to find it- it really did- but once it did, he couldn't entirely deny how relieved he felt.
He was sort of a mess. He had been running nonstop for a while now and looked worn down, a bit sweaty, and most of all- sleepy. It didn't deter him from grinning a little as he approaches one of the windows.
It's not a second before he has it open and is crouched inside of the threshold, peering into the home.]
((Hope that's cool for Izaya breaking and entering like that. If not, you can just say that Izaya knocked at the door~))

That's cool! I'm fine with that. :)
[And then Jacob speaks, without even turning his head or stopping his work, in a level tone of voice:]
What brings you here, Izaya?
I figured :3
[He's a little breathless. A little shaky in tone and stature but he's just fine.
No, really, he's totally fine. He glances at the bird as he staggers by it towards Jacob. The chocobo doesn't really register anything in his mind though. No.
Then he kneels down beside Jacob, as if about to assume the position of prayer, but when he bends over- it's to put his head into Jacob's lap and he just turns his face into his thigh and goes quiet.]
no subject
[Jacob immediately stops spinning the wheel the moment Izaya rests his head on his lap, and looks down at him with a slightly confused expression.]
[He takes off one of his hands from the thread he's been spinning and rests it on Izaya's head gently, like a father would do with an upset child.]
Izaya...something happened, didn't it?
no subject
Of course something happened.
His shoulders shake like he's about to----but no, he just sighs heavily instead and shifts his head under Jacob's hand.]
I killed someone tonight.
[That's not what he's upset about though.]
no subject
[His eyes narrow slightly, but his hand never leaves. Yes, killing people was wrong. But many of the candidates he had chosen back on the island had killed others for more reasons than not...that didn't count them out completely, in Jacob's mind.]
[A murderer still is a person, in the end.]
Who did you kill?
no subject
[That's the truth. He was pretty sure he'd never be able to take a gun to someone's head and--
Okay, he probably could but the type of killing that he preferred suited him more.
He shifts his head just enough to peer one slitted eye up at Jacob to gauge his expression.]
I merely convinced him to kill himself. It's not really the first time I've done something like that.
[Nor is it the first time he's indirectly killed someone at Vatheon.]
Sola. Er. Dark Link.
[He turns his head back into Jacob's lap and his shoulders shake- this time with a low, barely audible chuckle]
I was actually jumping with him. I was pretty curious about what death would be like and I figured since we come back here, I might as well find out, huh? Besides, I think that the sensation of immortality would have probably really set in had I--
[He trails off though. Despite the tangent being somewhat true, it wasn't entirely the reason he had stepped off the ledge with Sola.
Actually, it was just a spiteful, stupid reason.]
no subject
[His voice saddens somewhat. He didn't know this Sola, but still, it was sad when someone died like that. And now his indirect killer is here, resting against him.]
And you decided to see what death would be like in a place where you couldn't die.
[How ironic- just a week ago, he had been the god of the dead, and right next to him was a man who had fallen off a ledge, who had almost died...He mused on that- he had taken on the role of guardian in this place just like back home, but had he taken on the role of the guardian of the dead as well? Everyone flocked to him, after all, here and back home. He had brought people to him and to the island to see if they could change. But the first groups didn't. They had all died under his watch.]
[Death was like a burning lantern, and all the people around it were moths who couldn't resist seeing what the bright innards of the lantern looked like. And maybe, just maybe, Jacob was that lantern.]
But that's not the whole story. There's something more. There always is.
And you didn't die when you stepped off, did you?
no subject
[He shrugs but then slides his head onto its side and looks back up at Jacob.]
It wasn't that though. I had arranged the situation to have an audience. Sola was in love with this woman named Zelda and I told him that she'd understand the depth of his love if he were to kill himself for her. So he agreed. And I contacted her to have her come watch--
Along with someone else.
[He sighs heavily and closes his eyes.]
I knew it would be destructive towards everything we had worked to. But he's never had any faith in me. I don't understand what he expects from me when he has no faith in me. I guess I was just proving him right.
I know he's going to say that I did it purely to hurt him and Zelda. Which is kinda true. He wouldn't understand or believe anything else even if I told him though.
[Izaya's just going to fall quiet now though because he really is understanding the gravity of the situation. It could very well be the one thing that he will come to realize that he actually regrets.
It's just not something that he really wants to think about right now though.]
Can I stay here for a while?
no subject
What you told Sola...it wasn't exactly for him, was it? It applied to you, too.
[His hand moves to Izaya's shoulder, and then Jacob nods, smiling slightly.]
Yes. Yes, Izaya, you can stay.
no subject
And Izaya just didn't feel like caring.]
Thanks, Jacob. You're such a nice guy.
[His voice sounds a little bit more its usual cheeriness. He slides forward on Jacob's lap and moves his arms to hook around Jacob's waist in a tight hug, his face pressed into his stomach.]
((OOC:....lol oops. I just realized what a big misread I did just up there. Jacob asked him if he died. UH. IZAYA OBVIOUSLY DID NOT. I thought he asked if he didn't want to die. What the fuck.
I am sorry. That is embarrassing xD))
no subject
[He pauses at the gesture, still not entirely used to such close contact from others, but he eventually slowly, even a tad bit awkwardly, wraps his arms around Izaya in return.]
It's going to be okay, Izaya.
[ooc: FFFFFF it's okay! WE rolled with it anyways, so no problem! XD]
no subject
[Jacob, you are a lucky, lucky man. Probably one of the few that Izaya doesn't have the compulsive urge to completely destroy.
No, he actually likes you. He's not this close with anyone so- so it's pretty special. Of course, he's not about to explain this all to Jacob because that's just getting too personal.]
Maybe.
[He's a bit surprised at Jacob returning the hug- but after a while, shifts up more entirely onto his knees so that they could hug more completely.]
I just need some time to think. That's all.
[He won't be in your hair long. He slides away from Jacob just enough to look at him, smiling again- his usual smile.]
I didn't know you had a pet- by the way.
no subject
[He blinks at the shift, but doesn't detach himself yet- embraces weren't things to be broken, were they? But when Izaya finally releases his grasp, Jacob smile bad at him, eyes unreadable.]
No, that's fine. I understand.
[And when he mentions the chocobo, he glances over at her, which causes her to chirp a little, as if curious what is going on.]
Ah, that's Ma'at. She's a chocobo. Come here, Ma'at.
[As if it understands him, the black chocobo stands up from its resting place, approaching cautiously as it stares at Izaya.]
She's very friendly. Still a little unsure around strangers, but she likes people.
no subject
He approaches the chocobo and stretches out one of his hands towards Ma'at's beak.]
She's a pretty girl. Nn. I didn't know they came in black. Then again, I've really only seen the yellow ones. Never got on the whole chocobo farm thing.
[He finally rests his hand over the curve of her beak and smiles a bit wider. He always had had a soft spot for animals.]
When did you get her?
no subject
Yes, apparently she was one of two black ones. When she gets to be older, she'll be able to fly around.
[He smiles as he watches the two, as if watching his child meeting a very good friend of his.]
A few months ago. She was very small when she first came in. She should be almost my size in a month or two.
