A bookworm thought that it might be better to practice sword-fighting
Who: Ruca and anyone else!
Where: park
When: early evening
Style: staring in prose but anything is fine!
Status: OPEN
He had never really practiced sword fighting before. All the skill he had were thanks to his past life and the endless battles at home were always too much to him. But here there was no need for him to fight, yet he couldn't forget that there might come time he would have to pick up his sword again. He had heard how the city was attacked in the past, and wishing to help, if it would be in danger again, he sighed up to the defense force. It wouldn't be good if he forgot how to fight before that time... and that's exactly why he was trying to practice now.
It was kind of strange holding the sword again, but not actually fighting an enemy. Maybe he could ask someone to spar with him? For some reason, it didn't seem like a good idea to him.
For anyone who would spot him right now though, he would probably be an interesting sight. He looked so weak and yet he was holding a heavy broadsword as if it didn't weight much. But all of that was only thanks to Asura's power. Without it, Ruca would be too weak to even raise the sword.
It was a good thing that there didn't seem to be anyone who could seal his powers.

The thought he should let certain people know via the communicator was for the moment put off and after using local hospitality to dry off and get a change of clothes, the SOLDIER has instead decided to go for a walk while he's silently sorting out those memories before he actually deals with the people in them. Thusly, Sephiroth can now be found within the park, carrying a sheathed Masamune, while dressed in surprisingly casual clothing.
It's the sword that gets his attention first and causes him to pause, he notices its small owner seconds after. The fact that the small man has no apparent issues hefting such a sword didn't really phase him over much though. "Do you know how to use that properly?"
The question wasn't meant to be a slight, more along the lines of actual curiosity. It would be nice to know if there was someone down here who could spar later with him to give him exercise.

"Um, y-yes. I do..." he said timidly. It was no lie. Ruca knew perfectly well how to use the sword, even though he didn't seem like much of a swordsman. Asura's memories were full of battles and Ruca himself also had to defeat countless numbers of enemies during his travel.

Before he'd realized it, he'd found himself in the park. He glanced up at the bubble, eyes darting between the dancing light sbefore he returned his gaze back to the ground level. It was around then that he'd spotted Ruca -- recognizing him from a previous encounter over the network, Shing had approached, but stopped short as he noticed the giant sword in Ruca's hands. Pausing, he watched for a few moments as Ruca practiced, impressed with how he was able to lift such a sword, much less practice with it.
After several minutes, Shing cleared his throat, clapping a little -- it wasn't meant as an insult in the slightest, since he was obviously awed. "Wow... that's so cool! You can really use that, huh...?"

He turned to see Shing, slightly surprised by his words.
"Ah, no... I mean, yeah. I can, but..." Ruca looked sheepish. He wasn't used to people praising him or his skills, so he didn't know how to respond to that.
Especially that those weren't exactly his skills. He himself didn't have that kind of power.

"S-sorry about that... I didn't mean to scare you, but I couldn't help it. It just looked so awesome..."
There was another pause before he glanced at Ruca with a curious expression on his face. "So you're training, I'm guessing?" As if it weren't obvious from what he was doing...

At the question he nodded.
"Um, yeah. I thought... that it might be a good idea to practice sword fighting a little." he looked away. "... I've heard the city was attacked in the past." Thinking about this, he closed his eyes, his shoulders dropped a little. He really hoped he wouldn't have to fight in the future, but... "I just thought it'd be better to be prepared, just in case, something like that would happen again..."

There was a slow nod of sympathy from Shing as he sighed, his gaze wandering around the park. "I know what you mean... when I first arrived here, a bunch of people had gone missing. We found them, but... some of them attacked others on sight. I... I'm glad we got through it all right, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared for everyone involved."
no subject
"That's... the first time I heard about this."
But it just proved his point. This place was peaceful for most of the time, but sometimes it could be dangerous... even though Ruca himself was yet to see it for himself. He hadn't been here for that long, so other than curses, he did not encounter any danger here.

"I'm glad everyone came out okay in the end, but it was still scary, I'll admit."
no subject
"I'm glad everything was okay in the end."
If Ruca was slightly reluctant to practice at first, now he was certain it was better to be prepared for everything in this place.
no subject
"Is this just gonna be practicing by yourself? Did you find a sparring partner yet?"
no subject
He gave Shing a curious look.
"Why are you asking?"
no subject
no subject
"Sure."
Actually, despite everything he thought earlier, a spar might not be such a bad idea.
no subject
"All right. Ready to go?"
no subject
"Huh? We're going to spar... right away?" he muttered, getting prepared for the fight anyway. Even if it was probably pointless, Ruca could use a moment to think everything over once again. For a moment he looked as if he changed his mind and wanted to say that the sparring was actually a bad idea.
