The start of something monumentally stupid
Who: Rin Okumura, Yukio Okumura, and Night
When: Evening
Where: Throughout the city
Style: Action
[Rin knew good and well that playing any prank on Yukio was going to instantly turn in to him biting off more than he could chew. But... it was Rin. And even when he knew better he would still do something stupid just for the sake of getting a laugh out of a situation. And with how their relationship had been edging towards something a little less difficult and stressful, he had hoped that he could at least try to return to being a proper pain in the ass to Yukio in ways that wouldn't get him punched.
Yeah.
That was really, really dumb.
But kind of worth it at the same time, even as he was now tearing through the city attempting to throw Yukio off his trail before he even had a chance to start.
He had run a good fifteen minutes, though, before realizing... there wasn't anyone following him. The locals milled about him casual as ever,
but no where amongst them was there any sign of the glasses-wearing exorcist.]
.. tch. Shoulda known. 'Run, niisan', who is he foolin'? He's just gonna be waitin' for me at home!
[Oh Rin, if only you knew...]

[Oh Rin, if only you knew...]

Yukio had settled himself atop a tall building, a rifle in one hand and a small bag of special ammunition beside him. He'd had to make a quick trip to the Nostalgia Nook to find what he needed, but it would be worth it in the end. He peered over the edge of the building, checking Rin's location one more time before picking up his SFC and dialing his brother's number.]
I wonder if he'll pick up. [He glanced toward Night as the phone rang, a strangely evil-looking grin on his face.]
no subject
His tail sways lightly over Yukio's back, ears flicking forward.] What'd ya get from the Nook?
no subject
He could have let it go to voice mail, but... no. Sooner or later he was going to have to face the consequences of what he'd done. If that meant getting yelled at, so be it.]
... what?
no subject
Night-san told me that your stamina needs work. You have a ten second head start. Run, Niisan.
[He didn't wait for a reply before hanging up and setting his SFC aside, reaching into the bag so he could start loading his new ammo.]
Non-lethal rounds. [He held one up for Night to see.] Bean bags. They'll sting, but I'm sure he can handle it.
no subject
[He leans forward to sniff it- more out of instinct than genuine curiosity for its scent.] Not bad! With how he's been fairin' during trainin' it'll be like shootin' fish in a barrel.
no subject
[But Yukio had already hung up.
So this was going to be his retribution for a little marker on his face? God...
Rin spent two seconds staring at his SFC, three more looking around for his brother on the street before finally giving yet another two to actually looking up and realizing--]
... aw fuck he's on a roof.
[That was when he finally started running.]
no subject
He's learning. [Rin's ten seconds turned into twelve or thirteen while Yukio shifted down into a comfortable position, Night still balanced on his shoulder. He'd have to be careful to avoid the locals, but he had no doubts about his own skills where that was concerned, and the special silencer affixed to the end of his rifle would keep alarming noises to a minimum.
And the first shot? Was going right between Rin's shoulder blades.]
no subject
[Night's ears thank you.
He watches Yukio pelt Rin with little bean bags, tail wagging happily.]
That's definitely gonna bruise.
no subject
The locals glanced at him with expressions barely registering mild curiosity and maybe amusement, but no one seemed to really care that a teenager was getting pelted with projectiles and falling flat on his face swearing and cursing up a storm.
He was back on his feet quickly, though, not willing to give up just because some one had indicated to Yukio that his stamina was lacking recently.]
no subject
[He chose his shots carefully, the next two aimed for each of Rin's calves and sure to send him tumbling.]
How long do you think it'll take him to stop scurrying and find decent shelter?
no subject
Give 'im a few more pelts before he thinks about it, I bet. Hard to tell when he has such rare moments of common sense...
no subject
But... Night has a point. It takes the two hitting his calves and sending him careening in to a table outside of a cafe before he finally decides that it's time to find some place to hide.
Unfortunately... he's not smart enough to realize the direction at which the bags are coming from, so he picks an arbitrary building to duck behind, back against the wall as he slides down it to catch his breath.]
no subject
If he'd just think a little he could avoid the worst of this...
no subject
[His ears fall back as he watches the bags hit Rin, tail quietly thumping against Yukio's shoulder blade.]
He isn't that type of fighter, relying on his instincts more than his head. At least he has natural talent going for him on that. [As expected of someone with his kind of blood, Night thinks to himself.] But he'll learn the hard way. Eventually.
no subject
[Rin's voice came out in a near-shriek, the half-demon falling over himself to avoid the second shot. It narrowly did, striking the wall behind him.]
Damn it, Yukio! I'm sorry, okay?!
[Rin yelling at the sky-- er, bubble-- really isn't going to win you any points here.]
no subject
[Well, isn't that something? Doesn't stop Yukio from loosing another round.]
I can't say I'm entirely convinced, though. What do you think, Night-san?
no subject
no subject
[Well... that got him running again at least! He's back on his feet, managing a half-way decent bit of thinking that gets him in between buildings through narrow alley ways. He's still a target, especially from Yukio's angle, but he's gotten to be a little bit more difficult.]
no subject
Keep trying, Niisan...

For a moment he all but vanished in them, nothing but limbs at odd angles visible, but soon enough he was crawling out, a mess and fairly pissed.
But he knew Yukio wasn't about to stop any time soon, which meant he, some how, some way needed to figure out where the fuck those shots were coming from!
... good luck on that, Rin.]
no subject
[A little vindictive, yes, but not cruel.
He takes a moment while Rin's tangled up in the trashcans to pull his rifle back and slink a ways across the roof for a better angle, all with Night still balanced on his shoulder. He knows better than to stand up and risk giving away his locations.
Aaaand the shooting begins again~]
no subject
There's a small snort as he watches Rin try and pin point their location. Of course if he ever tried to hone his other senses, namely smell, he might have been able to sniff them out. His loss.]
If he learned to sharpen his other senses he could become quite the predator.
no subject
But he was fifteen when all this shit went down, what'd you expect from a teenager? Especially a teenager like him?
He's still going to try, though, narrowly dodging another shot while running by swinging around a corner to head down some stone steps as fast as his feet will carry him. Going, of course, away from where the shoots were coming from.
Good job, Rin.]
no subject
[Assuming Rin keeps heading in the right direction, anyway. Yukio peers through his scope an fires off a few wider shots. They're intentional misses, meant to strike near to brother dearest and hopefully hit things at odd enough angle that Rin might confuse exactly what direction they're coming from.]
no subject
We could always meet him back at the Villa, if that's the case.
no subject
... QUIT TRYIN' TO THROW ME OFF YOU FOUR EYED MOLEY BASTARD!
[Well that certainly was a turn around from 'I'm sorry'. Amazingly, though, it shows a certain level of intelligence he doesn't usually have.
And leads to him wheeling around with even more intent to find Yukio.]
no subject
Looks like I spoke too soon. I'm almost impressed.
[Almost. Yukio holds his shots for a few moments, waiting to see just what Rin's going to do... and possibly taking potshots at his brother's ass if he sees the chance.]
