ROAR. HISS.
Who: Cielo and Serph and Guest Starring Heat
When: Morning
Where: The Park
Style: Starting in prose. Whichever afterward.
Status: Closed
The park was often where the people of Vatheon went to hone their battle skills, whether it was with the shooting range or striking the practice dummies.
Or directly sparring with one another. And today, there is quite the match going on.
Most people have probably seen the demon Dyaus at some point or another, as it's a creature that regularly flies around both the bubble and the island. That demon is also known as Cielo, the Embryon's scout. This time, however, he's not flying near the top of the barrier, but rather down low, close to the tree tops. The blade from the top of his crest emerges and Cielo makes a high speed dive towards his target.

that moment when you realise you've accidentally deleted your demon icons
Well aware Cielo is fast and can adjust his flight path, a hiss makes it past Serph's lips, green energy wrapping around Dyaus in a Sukunda.]

He retaliates with a roar, energy forming around Serph as Cielo performs the Mind Scream skill.]

The problem with fighting an opponent such as Cielo is that Cielo can very easily just fly up high and throw down spells without much retaliation. But Cielo can't spell spam if he cannot cast.
Serph would be more cautious if he had people backing him up (friendly fire is a very real risk), or if there had been others who could be hurt in the crossfire, but the situation seems safe enough to release a Makajamon in the general area, taking the risk of being left wide open while being unable to truly detect where Cielo is right now, in favour of potentially disabling Cielo's magic, given his weakness to ailments and his now more limited movements thanks to the Sukunda earlier.]

The spell had hit his weakness and while it didn't leave any physical damage, it immediately disrupts his movements and he drops from the air midflight. Luckily, he doesn't collide with the ground, and manages to figure which way is up quick enough to land on his feet in the grass. Add disorientation sprinkles to the misery mute cake.
He needs an extra moment to clear his head before he can get airborne again, something he knows leaves him vulnerable for an extra, costly moment, but he would rather take the time to steady himself than try to take off and crash face first into the dirt.]

No ice; he doesn't intend to kill Cielo.
So instead, Serph rushes forward, intending to tackle and pin Cielo down to make him yield first--]

he was sure this was some sort of training exercise for the two of them, but for him... it was a chance to prove their inferiority. an opportunity for them to see that he was the strongest!
as he saw cielo take to the ground and serph rush towards him -- heat saw his chance. leaping into the scene, he landed between the two of them hard, the ground beneath him taking the brunt of his weight as he remained close to the ground, claws digging into the earth -- ) So it's a fight you want, huh?

Whoops. Muted. Right.
Now that Heat has put a temporary halt to the fight, he uses the moment to do something about that problem.
That is, hack up a Dis-mute in an incredibly graceful and dignified manner.]

It's not easy to miss the larger form of Agni, even in his stunned state.
Serph straightens, partly to conceal how difficult it was for him to clearly pinpoint Heat's movements, partly to speak to Heat properly. Serph shakes his head.]
I don't want to fight you.
[Nothing good will come of it. But he will defend himself, unlike that time he'd "died". Tiir was right. His death would lead to the sadness of his friends left behind... even if death isn't permanent here. And... without knowing the root of Heat's anger, how can he know that dying would solve anything?
But he remains guarded, waiting for Heat to make the inevitable first move.]

( it wasn't always about what you wanted, serph! and with that, heat launched himself forward. mid-air, he wound back a fist with the intention of bringing it down hard right in varna's face, if he could manage it. he seemed to forget cielo's presence entirely for the moment, what with being wrapped up in punching faces and all.
he was far too helpless in this place, in vatheon... and while some might argue that getting into a fight with "comrades" wasn't the best way to spend your time -- it was the one of the few things he felt he could do. it wasn't just to prove his strength to everyone anymore... now he did this for himself )

Oh right. Sukunda. He works on fixing that with a Sukukaja.]
Hey! Cut that out, Heat!
that moment when you go to track a post and then don't
Too quick for Serph to completely avoid getting punched in the face.
Serph reels from the impact, spots flaring across his senses as his ability to 'see' dims. He isn't entirely certain whether Heat's broken his jaw or not -- there's definitely a loose tooth -- but he doesn't have much time to really think about that. Instead, Serph twists and sidesteps, trying to take advantage of Heat's momentum from his leap to shove Heat to the ground from behind. And, well, in case that fails... Serph sucks in a breath, temperature chilling...]
we forgive you, leader! now c'mere and lemme punch you some more! hope the spell usage is okay
This is between him and me!
( truth be told, he was feeling good with that first punch having connected. however, the push was unexpected -- he stumbled forward, faces down into the ground.
it was with an animalistic roar that he attempted to push himself a back up to his feet in time -- just to catch sight of what the dear leader had in store for him next.
with another cry, he threw his arms up in front of him, attempting to execute a void ice spell before the damage could be done...! magic was never his strong point, and it was never going to be... )

Here, they could be happy.
But no, Serph and Heat are fighting again and Cielo doesn't want them to and what if it turns out as badly as it did last time and...
Frustrated and upset, all he does is let out an anguished roar.]
no subject
What is?
[Between him and Heat, that is. Why?
Though, as he says it, Serph moves to try and pin Heat down with his own body.]
no subject
as he focused wholly on serph again, he was far too late to dodge the pin coming towards him. he grunted in a reply, trying to take hold of varuna's wrists, squeezing hard -- )
Don't play dumb with me! Or are you really that clueless?
no subject
It's time for one last warning.]
You two stop this right now!
no subject
Tell me.
[Oops sorry Cielo.]

one of agni's heads gnashed its teeth while the other shouted -- ) I'm going to be the one that takes her to Nirvana, do you hear me?! We're going to settle this once and for all!
