Who: Little Washu and Denzel Crocker [Closed]
When: After the end of the latest curse
Where: ~~Washu's lab~~ Their home!
What: A little experiment with a new machine. ~~Beware explosions!~~
The Log:

Now that the most recent disturbance in the bubble was over with and things were mostly back to normal, It was time for some science! Which would be why Washu was quietly sneaking out of her lab and into the rest of the house. She needed a guinea pig. A very specific guinea pig at that.

So, what was the best way lure the elusive and rather excitable wild Denzel Crocker away from one of his strange little inventions? Surprisingly, food and not just any food, but his favorite food. Washu set to work making those shrimp puffs he mentioned liking. She may or may not have laced them with a trace amount of sedative.

Maybe.

When she was done, she sat back and waited. Where ever he was, she was sure he could probably smell what she was cooking. Now it was just waiting for him to show up.

Crocker is in the lab, as usual muttering to himself bizarrely as the man does his work. Basically, nothing out of the usual. A few whiffs of the air, Crocker smells his favorite food ever!

"SHRIMP PUFFS!" Dropping both the marker and wrench, Crocker dashes to the kitchen, "Where are they? Where are they?!"

Denzel almost literally bounces around the kitchen in search of the shrimp puffs.

"Just about to come out of the oven. Now sit down like a good little boy and be patient."

True to her word, she had on oven mittens and just about to pull out the tray of the delicious smelling food item.

Denzel reacts rather groggy at that statement, "Very well." Acting like a trained dog.

Considering, how much Crocker likes these shrimp puffs, immediately picks one up, only to slightly burn his fingers for a moment, "Ow!" Denzel blows quickly on his fingers to cool them.

The man waits a few moments before trying any again, which goes to Crocker indulging his favorite food, as he does remarks, "Ha! And here I thought you where only going to give these to me if I be - be - " A nauseous - dazed face appears on Crocker before his head splats straight into his plate and begins to snore lightly.

Bingo.

She just grins as he falls over after eating the drugged item. Her little experiment will be so much easier without a spazzing, protesting test subject.

Once Washu was sure he was fast asleep, she transfered Denzel onto a soft floating cushion and headed off towards the basement. Once she was there, Washu wasted no times strapping her roommate into a chair and attaching electrodes to his head and various other monitoring equipment. And like any good scientist, she double checked her work when she finished before fetching her latest invention. It looked like an unassuming metal headband with a few lights attached and wires running from it.

By the time she finished and was ready to flip the switch, Denzel should be waking up.

Denzel is having pleasant dreams for the moment, considering he's not sleep spazzing and almost on cue, Crocker mumbles himself back to consciousness, "Where am I?!" Crocker jerks his body or at least tries too and finds himself constrained. Something the man really didn't like, "WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?!"

After a few minutes of continuous body jerking, Crocker finally wears out for the moment.

"Welcome back to the land of the waking." She just smiles pleasantly at him. At some point, Washu had taken the liberty to dress in a nurses outfit simply because she could~.

It's not like she needed to get samples or anything this time at least, though... that could be fun while he's tied up but maybe later.

"It's simple really. There are discrepancies in your memories and I want to know why. So I built this machine that should let me see what the problem is. "

Denzel continues to struggle being restrained simply because he's being restrained and doesn't like that. Reminds the man too much of when the men in white take him away and put Crocker in a straight jacket back in his home world.
“Oh, right that.”
Crocker recalling at the very least when Washu had said that Crocker was a good little boy and overly all very different to how he the man is today, “Took you long enough.”
Before shouting in anger,
“WHY THE HECK DIDN’T YOU SAY SO?!" Wait, did she? Knock him out!? Denzel side eyes Washu. There’s a pause, as the man mumbles, “Actually, I wonder myself.”
Then once again tries to struggle out of his confinement, “UNHOOK THESE!” The built up of insanity is slowly being seen in his eyes. Again fail attempting to pull himself out of the restraints.

"It wouldn't be as much fun if I just asked."

She ignores him for a few moments as she checks the equipment one last time. Above her head is a large floating holo-screen where she was hoping the problem would display itself as she wandered through the boy's memories.

As she starts to delve through his memories, she works her way backwards, most recent first and then going further and further back until she reaches a strange set...

Crocker continues to struggle, that is until for the moment the man wears himself out.

On the screen, it seems to be a view of the plaza in Vatheon, Where the fiddle sticks am I? There's only one possible logical explanation for waking up wet where ever the heck this is - FAIRY GODPARENTS!

Crocker over in the chair remarks, "Hey, that's the day I first landed here."

The memory seems to pass on to a time before that, there's apparently a man dressed in all pink sitting at what appears to be a school desk and the man dressed in pink looks uneasy, You see I know you're staying childlike in order to keep your - FAIRIES! But I'll play along with your game because soon I will catch them and then it will be I, MR. DENZEL CROCKER WHO WILL BE MAKING THE WISHING AROUND HERE!.. Go ahead. Make a wish. I DARE YOU.

The screen flicks to show a giant person in blue apparently hovering over Crocker and engaging in some kind of battle, with two brown haired boys...

Another quick transmission, a peek inside Crocker's lab and it almost appears to seem like the man had been napping...

Than suddenly, another viewpoint in the same background of the lab. Something that looks like a portal is being worked on. Finally, my super secret portal to Fairy World is complete! Now, I can get to Fairy World and seek revenge on those FAIRIES!
The scene quickly changes and now the background looks like a corner of a street and speaking to a younger Timmy, Thanks, Mr. Crocker. But why did you save me?
Crocker states, Have you ever heard the phrase, the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Timmy replies, No. Followed by Crocker saying,
Then you get an F, tomorrow! But today you get this. A gold star!
All of sudden, that same brown haired boy is very muscular and chained to a stone wall with a shadow that kind of looks like Denzel but also seems to be a dragon and Crocker’s voice can be heard, On second thought Turner, I will pass you. THOUGH MY DIGESTIVE TRACT!
Crocker in the chair states, “I miss having been a warlock.”
Again the screen flickers and shows, that brown haired kid again, this time in a white futurist clothing and what appears to be a large talking brain in a jar with robots shooting at them and them shooting back, Great plan, Turner. They captured us. If I where your teacher, I’d give you an – F!
The next time video shows something visible on the screen, it’s Crocker. Unlike the other memories where Denzel wasn’t visible though his own eyes, now you can see the man but it’s not a mirror because the viewpoint appears to be lower and looking up, And now that I’m you. I can finally go to house and search for evidence of – FAIRY GODPARENTS! The screen shakes, like someone is having a spasm and switches to yet another memory.
Which a man in a wheelchair and staring apparently at Crocker, The renowned physicist Stephen Hawking?! My old college roomie! Come to lure another Noble Prize from me, I suppose.
Meanwhile, Crocker in the chair remarks, “I feel like I’m seeing my life before my eyes. I’m not dying am I?” Looking over in Washu’s direction for reassurance because this machine creates that illusion after all.
Looking back over at the screen, a floating smoking green guy with sunglasses can be seen by Crocker. Norm speaks, Hello, insert human’s name here. I am the all powerful genie – Norm! Lights with the genie’s name magically appear, And you -.
That’s when the screen starts flickering and looks like someone needs to adjust the rabbit ears. Meanwhile, Crocker appears to be going though pain...

Her eyes remain focused on the screen as her fingers fly across her keyboard to keep delving deeper. "No, you're not dying. My invention's working." Though, it could easily result in death if she wasn't careful.

Sort of. It really depends on how one would view a permanently vegetative state for the rest of their natural lives. But, those were the risks that came with SCIENCE.

"...I find it hard to believe you were college roommates with Stephen Hawking. How did he put up with you?" She muses for a few moments on that until the part about a 'genie' comes up.

Up goes an eyebrow as she studies the figure briefly. That... looks like something out of human mythology. What in the Universe...

As soon as it starts to flicker she starts attempting to define the cause of the disruption while ignoring Crocker in pain. Washu was determined to get to the bottom of this!

Denzel remarks back in disgust, "Well... Yeah, part of the plan originallyto become a scientist - I think more of the question is how could I stand him?" Remaining silent, Crocker wasn't going to tell Washu how at one point in his life that the man was aspiring to be a scientist, who studies magic. Which is what Crocker is to a degree. The young man however long ago, Denzel thought the scientific community would be more open minded about the matter. Unfortunately, Crocker crashes and burns. Though oddly enough, looking back how Crocker could stand Stephen at the time now Crocker hates the man, again different point in Crocker's life and Crocker himself was a rather different person to a degree as well.
Considering, Crocker prior to 1982, wasn't a blabbering crazy about magic and fairies. The man than did believe in them but kept that secret.

Meanwhile, Crocker continues to be in pain and as Washu tries to pry more at the flicker, it's more and more a blinding light.

She frowns as she continues to pry. The light gets brighter and there's more flickering. By now the images were impossible to make out and that only serves to make her work harder at trying to break through the interference.

Then as suddenly as it started, the flickering stops and quickly switches over to a blue screen of death. Washu's eyes widen as she starts to type frantically once more.

"Nononono..This can't be happening!"

As the light becomes brighter, Crocker can feel his back and teeth causing pain more than they usually do and begins to scream during the groans of agony, "Schnauzer! SCHNAUZER!"

Before completely passing out.

....And just like that her machine explodes into a cloud of smoke moments after Denzel screams 'Schauzer' and passes out.

What in her own name is going on here!? She waves a bit of smoke out of her face as she tries not to cough and glances over at the passed out boy.

Well that definitely did NOT work. Now the question remains, was it her machine failing or something else that made it go boom. Washu had to pour over what data she had to figure that one out.

Who knows how much time passes, however, Crocker at one point starts to moan awake and tries to move and still can't...

"What happened?"

By the time he starts to come to, Washu had the smoke cleared away and the broken machine laid out on a table. Otherwise, Crocker was merely sitting in a chair, though still lightly restrained for the moment.

"....You made my invention blow up. That's what happened."

As for her, she was sitting on one of her floating cushins with her back towards him. In front of her was a key board and there were at least a dozen holographic screens laid out in the air before her all displaying various statistics and graphs. At least two of them were replaying the events she managed to record before everything went boom.

One recording was playing forward, the other backwards and both were looped as her computers dissected everything.

The after effects of attempted mind reading, Crocker could still feel extra pain in back and teeth and groans in agony.

"Did you have to make my bones hurt?"

There's a pause as what Washu said finally processed, "The - HECK? How did that happ- And why am still in these?!" Quickly starts to fight or try to fight his way out of the restraints,

Denzel appears to be tuning out the noise of what the screen is playing, however, everytime the flash of light comes up playing on cue, Denzel starts twitching and jerking his body in ways that are obviously not trying to break out of the restraints consciously at least and screaming 'Schnauzer'.

"That would be why you're still restrained."

She turns to regard him for a moment before having a screen record the twitching, jerking and his screaming to analyze later. She's already drawing the connection between the flash and his reaction and after a few moments, cuts the flash out, instead continuing the loop from the seconds before the flash to see the results.

Whatever that flash was, it was obviously the start of something larger than she originally thought.

After flash stops, Crocker calms and breaths heavily trying to catch his breath and moans loudly again because of his bones peering up, from his glasses, "What's going on? Why am I like this?"

"Not a clue, but that's what I'm here to find out."

She plays the recording a few more times with out the flash, noting the lack of reaction and then turns her attention back to that piece of footage. This time she runs it through various analysis and for curiosity, plays it on a small screen he's unable to see in order to see if there is any reaction.

Long face of confusion, "......That doesn't answer my question. What am I doing in this chair, strapped down and why are my memories playing on that screen?!"

Washu really hasn't a clue how much she's messing with the man's mind and how now Crocker has a short term memory loss because of being exposed to Jorgen's magic.

The insanity brews in the man's eyes and begins to gnaw on his shirt collar.

"....I was running an experiment to see why there was a disconnect between the child I saw during the age down curse and the adult I've been living with."

She raises an eyebrow and starts to get the idea that the flash was more of a memetic agent suppressing short term memories.

The mystery just keeps on getting better and better.

"I recorded your memories to a point where it became impossible. You are strapped to a chair to make sure you don't hurt yourself." And to make him more cooperative, but that was besides the point.

Washu turns off the memory loops and dismisses the recordings of the flashes. Her computer is still anaylizing the data, but now, it was time for a more personal experiment.

She hops off her pillow and walks towards him. She takes on her adult form and.. after a soft flash, she looks, well.. very different. Ageless and in a rather revealing dress with a strange golden collar and three gems on her forehead.

...A very watered down and very controlled version of her Goddess form. She leans in and smiles before poking him in the forehead.

"This shouldn't hurt a bit. Now relax and think about your childhood."

"Yes, you've mentioned that preposterous notation before and you're out of your mind."

Though, Crocker still couldn't shake the strange dejavu of Washu.

"And where exactly did they start to become impossible, mmmm?"

Crocker widens his eyes at Washu's transformation, "Egad!"
That was before Crocker's nose starts bleeding, "Put more clothing on."

What is she going to do to him, that was a joke Crocker relax. If anything all of this was making him more anxious, however the man did try to do as he was told and goes to focus on what he believes is his childhood.

"You're a grown boy, get used to it." His amusing to her outfit was way to amusing~. Admittedly, she could wear whatever she wanted, but this was by far her favorite.

Her finger gently rests against his forehead as she closes her eye and delves in. At least he was doing as she asked and thinking about his childhood. That just made this easier. And for a bit, she examined them, noticed there was something hidden underneath.

Washu tugged gently on the tangle of memories and loosened the magic suppressing his true memories before backing off. This was going to take time.

A few more gentle nudges at the magic and she finally pulled away and opened her eyes to see how he was doing.

"That's besides the point!" Crocker exclaims to her about 'get use to it'. Denzel wonders if this is where Ryoko gets this behavior.

However, Washu still doesn't understand Crocker doesn't have interest in things like that! There's also the fact, the man views Washu as his mother figure. Making the all of this moment even more awkward. The eyes shut and his focus on his childhood, Crocker's nose starts to stop bleeding.

Crocker jerks on and off in the chair, restrained still as he feels something penetrate a block, there's flash of light in Crocker's mind, that the man sees though inside of his eyes and passes out.
