[So there's that cuddle for warmth curse going on for a few more days, but that aside all seems well inside the Villa. For now.

I wouldn't mind that, actually.

[Stein is actually a pretty normal human being about 75% of the time.

He makes up a pot of coffee (strong, and not the absolute best quality), and then goes poking around in the cabinets a little.]

We have sugar somewhere.

[He takes his coffee black, so he's not quite sure where the sugar is.]

[And poor Yukio doesn't even realize that he hasn't actually seen proper insanity yet.

He nods and starts poking about, quickly finding the sugar near to where the tea's kept. He's taught himself to drink coffee black (because sometimes you just don't have the time to stop for milk and sugar), but definitely prefers to take a little of the edge off.]

There's cream in the fridge.

[Stein finishes making his sandwich, and then pours himself a cup of coffee.]

How have you been?

[Two sugars and a little milk in his mug and Yukio settles against a nearby counter with his hot beverage.]

I'm doing fairly, thank you. Vatheon as a whole is much quieter than I'd thought it would be.

When there's not a curse stirring things up, the most we have to worry about is personal conflicts.

[Meaning yeah it's pretty quiet around here.]

Are there personal conflicts often?

[circumsutus]

Just as many as you would expect from a group this size trapped in a single location for years.

[doctor_dragoon]

[He nods. He certainly managed a few personal conflicts of his own already.]

And there's really been no progress made in terms of getting home?

[circumsutus]

Nothing tangible. We've made changes, but there's no way to know what those changes really mean. [Stein is a scientist, and needs all the data before he can make a conclusion.]

[Sigh. Yukio's been hoping that other would have more information that what's provided in the database, but he's getting similar answers from everyone he asks. Not cool.

He frowns down at his coffee.]

Very few residents seem overly concerned about our situation.

Most people have just come to accept it.

I don't have much of anything to look forward to back home, so I'm not too concerned about leaving here.

[Yukio's on the fence. He hates the idea of being yanked around at someone else's whims... but home really isn't better at the moment. At all.]

I suppose apathy would set in after a while, wouldn't it.

Humans are remarkably adaptable creatures.

Besides, you're in a position where no one else in your family really wants to go home. Your father has nothing to go back to, and your brother has entered into a relationship that makes him happy.

I'm aware.

[He sips at his coffee, delaying further response. Going home would mean going back to a dead father and a brother constantly on the verge of execution. Gehenna Gates and possible emerging demonic powers and... ugh.

What a mess.]

[Stein's not going to start up any more lines of questioning. The curse is leaving him in a less than conversational mood.]

[They can just enjoy their coffee in silence, then. Small talk is for losers.]

At least Yukio hasn't started yelling at Stein for sparring with Rin.]
