[With Jake English being taken from Vatheon yet again and Dirk acting like it wasn't such a big deal, Bro figured it was time to put one of his plans in motion. What better way to bring the family together and cheer up his alternate self than with puppets? Hell, he knows that'd bring a smile to his own face if he were in Dirk's shoes and he likes to think that the two of them very similar in that aspect. That's where Muppet movie night comes in. Striders only, attendance mandatory. It's something he'd been hoping to do for a while now anyway, he just figured he'd save it for a special occasion.

Of course, Bro made sure to take all the necessary preparations. There's an abundance of snack food, soda, AJ and a stack of DVDs that'll play nicely on their big screen TV, which means they're ready to roll. Bro is taking a seat on the couch, of course, feet up on the table and Lil Cal by his side. Barkbeast the robot puppy is lying in a doggie bed in the corner, its gaze following the other Striders. Bro doesn't care too much where everyone else sits, so long as they're careful they don't park their butts in a stray ninja star. Those little buggers tend to get lost between the couch pillows.]

[Dirk, by habit, might have aimed for the floor or a solitary chair- he still doesn't sit close to people unless they're exceptions of the Roxy sort. But there's a different kind of exception to be made here, which is that Bro has Lil Cal here. For that reason, he grabs a seat on the couch, and doesn't stay all the way on the far side of it from Bro. He doesn't get his feet on the table, but they are stretched out in front of him and crossed at the ankle.

He's still irritated about Jake leaving, but this ironic-sincere gesture from Bro, no matter what the motives are, is a good thing no matter what, in his opinion, even if Dave and Davesprite might think it's torture.]

Let's get this puppet party started.

[Considering the fact that there's AJ, naturally Davesprite will want to join this party. More so because he knows that it's to cheer Dirk up in typical Strider roundabout ways. He can deal with the puppets for that reason. He'll just. Make sure he doesn't make eye contact with Lil Cal.

Davesprite will not sit on the couch, however. He's going to float above it in a position of lying down on his side, propping his head up with his hand and a big ass mug of apple juice in the other. The joys of being a sprite! He doesn't have to suffer the fear of getting poked in the ass by a stray shuriken!]

Better than suffering through Vatheon versions of sick videos.

[Dave's seat was already chosen as far as he's concerned. As far away from Lil' Cal as possible, preferably with him out of sight though he knows that's a hopeless endeavor. So he'll just be chilling on the floor by the snacks on the table, already reaching for the chips and the AJ. If he's gotta sit through this puppet bullshit, he's going to at least hoard his fair share of junk food.]

Not like I've got anything better to do.

[He could list a shitload of things he'd rather be doing actually, anything's better than having to sit through puppets. The shit he'll do for his bros.]

[By now, Bro's starting to become aware that Dave (and Davesprite by proxy) is no longer as cool with puppets as he used to be. Just another one of those reminders that his little bro's growing up and there's not a damn thing he can do about it. He's not about to turn his own puppet love down for Dave's sake, either. Or Davesprite's. They're both going to keep having to put up with this for as long as Bro's around.]

True fact. There is nothing better than this. [Puppets, Dave. Beautiful majestic puppets going on an adventure!]

[Bro, at least, has gained Dirk to share an interest in puppets with, though Dirk's ability to get along with different versions of himself is somewhat questionable.

He snags a handful of popcorn from Bro's wide array of snacks.]

Noted. Waiting around for a movie to start is the best thing in your universe.

Not everybody can have the benefit of being four centuries ahead of the cinematic game. Probably a good thing, otherwise John'd find something worse to replace Con Air.

[God he hopes that it takes John another three years or so before that happens. Davesprite needs a respite after that episode.]

What're we watching first, again?

There's only a few things that are worse than Con Air.

[If John ever starts liking Dane Cook movies, Dave's going to have to stage an intervention. He can deal with one best bro liking that talentless fuck, he won't stand for two.]

Someone just hit play and find out which one's in there already.

[The remote's in Bro's hand in less than a second so he can press Play. He already knows what's in the DVD player, though. It's The Great Muppet Caper. Can't go wrong with a classic!]

[When Bro starts the movie, Dirk settles in and falls silent. Years of watching with no one to comment on it with means that he's generally pretty silent during screentime, though livestreaming movies with Jake and so on means he can get irritatingly chatty if text is involved.

When they're done with the muppets, Dirk might just suggest some SBaHJ. He's in company that will appreciate it, after all.]

[All the Muppet movies are nostalgic classics for the Dirk side of the family. Still, Davesprite will just be quiet as he sips his drink.

As this is the Strider family, he has a feeling the silence will quickly devolve into a cacophony of something like MST3K.]
