Ratchet had been here almost an entire month so far. One month, one curse, some new friends and at least one punk who he really didn't like. This place was calm enough, despite all the people and insanity he had heard of happening before he arrived. The fairies exploded, he confessed things he never wanted to, and a man looked like General Azimuth when he first saw him. Normally this might not affect him as badly as it was. Heck, he'd been stranded on strange planets before. But this time was different. He couldn't leave. He couldn't enjoy the freedom he had had for the passed five years. He had spent sixteen years trapped on Veldin. Sixteen years of wanting the freedom to leave a planet whenever he wanted to. And now it was taken form him all over again. That was not sitting will with him at all.

The boredom and antsy feeling in his gut were getting to him. He had to do something, anything; move, fight, snark at someone, blow something up. Which was why he was out in the city, wondering around aimlessly. He just had to get out of his apartment. He needed to do something or meet someone new. Or maybe run into someone he already did and let it go from there. He wasn't sure and he definitely wasn't picky.

Ratchet nodded and rolled his eyes. "I know! And without a hologram chamber I can't keep up target practice. And there aren't any super villains here that need their butts kicked. This place is boring as all hell."

Vegeta suddenly recalled that irritating guy with the monsters following him around mentioning that the coral healed people. Ratchet wants target practice, Vegeta wants training. One of the most basic forms of training for a Saiyan?

Getting hurt and then healing up.

He grinned at the lombax widely. "What if you had a willing target?"

Ratchet blinked and raised one of his brown eyebrows. "That depends on if I thought they'd survive or not. Never actually fired at someone who wasn't my enemy before. Why do you ask? You volunteering?"

"I am. Does your weapon have multiple settings?" He didn't expect it to have any non-combat settings, but something low wouldn't hurt him terribly - something for blowing a door open without destroying an entire structure, for example. He started to hover, ready to fly off if Ratchet indicated that it did.

Ratchet shook his head. "It doesn't. But I have this." He moved his hand and suddenly there was his Combusto Pistol. "It's the least lethal I've got. Fires lasers. Shouldn't hurt too much." He smirked up at Vegeta.

"Looks like you aren't human. So I'm a Lombax. What are you?"

"A Saiyan. The prince of the Saiyans." And with that, he flew up into the air, far enough away to make for decent target practice but not so far that he couldn't keep an eye on Ratchet. He wasn't going to try to dodge the first blow, he had to figure out how much this was going to hurt and what the range of the weapon was first.

Ratchet quickly raised his gun and fired the first laser. It came in fast and hard. Though when it hit, it didn't do too much. It would easily burn through clothing and burn the skin. Maybe even a little bleeding. But that was a normal laser, not a charged one. Though Ratchet was sure he was going to just use the uncharged variety for this one.

Vegeta grinned when he felt the sting of the laser. Good, it had decent speed and impact. The aim wasn't bad either, it hit him square on. He started to fly around, making himself a more difficult target. He was most likely far faster than any organic target Ratchet had faced before, but not impossible to hit. He didn't want to be impossible to hit, either!

Ratchet watched and waited. He was definitely must faster than any organic flying creature he had faced. But not robotic. He took aim and fired three shots, two slightly ahead of Vegeta and one behind. He was hoping of he tried to speed forward one would hit him or if he went back the last shot would get him.

It's the one from behind that gets Vegeta, brushing up against his tail. He's actually angry for a moment before remembering that he did volunteer for this.

This was good. The lombax could keep up with him. He started to vary his flight patterns more, behaving closer to how he would in an actual battle. Of course, he couldn't attempt to take cover behind any of the buildings or anything that would really give him an edge, but he didn't mind. The pain of being hit was good, it reminded his body to stay sharp.

And now he was getting harder. Good. He liked this himself too. He'd only fought a few enemies who moved this quickly or were this smart. The usual lackies didn't think this far ahead. He tried to picture Vegeta as Dr. Nefarious for a moment and opened fire. With the erratic movements he could only lob off a shot or two at his enemy. He fired again and again, trying to aim for where he thought Vegeta was going to go.

Only a handful of the shots hit, but they were good ones. Vegeta's rather deranged laughter echoed in the surrounding area as he zipped over Ratchet's head, continuing their game until his temper started to catch up with him about fifteen minutes and a lot of fun later. He wouldn't be able to play much longer without fighting back, that familiar rage was starting to bubble up inside him. The prince had no desire to hurt his new training buddy, so he flew out of range and took out his SFC, sending a text. Ratchet... there it was.

That was entertaining. I'll see you again, Ratchet.

Ratchet looked at his ammo count once he got the text. It wasn't bad but he was going to need to see if he could find more around here somewhere. At least his aim wasn't totally off. He smiled up at Vegeta and answered the text.

Thanks. This was fun. We should do it again sometime.
