Hello, Miss Kanaya
I was hoping to ask a favor

What Is It
no subject
A favor like previously stated
I need to make a special gift for someone
And I am hoping you know something about intricate braiding

Im Free Anytime If You Want To Come By And Learn
I Assume You Want To Make It Yourself If Its Such a Special Gift
And Maybe When You Get Here You Could Explain Just Who This Someone Is
Im In The Shop Right Now

Thank you
[One quick trip through the bubble later, Disciple will be walking through the front door of Kanaya's storefront, smile quite evident on her face.]
no subject
Alright, what's going on? You wouldn't have avoided using Signless's name, nor Nepeta's. Who's this for?
no subject
It... I uhhh..
[She says eloquently, before peering around the room to make sure it was uninhabited by anyone else. Confirming that they were alone, the smile spreads back to her features once again, and she steps closer to Kanaya.]
I have a moirail.
no subject
[After all, there are humans in the bubble that are starting to pick up on the nuances of the quadrants, no reason why Disciple's moirail has to be a Troll... though Kanaya has a pretty good idea who it might be. It's taking all of her Jade blood reserve to hold back her happiness for her friend right now, and she's not sure just how long she can keep herself in check. She already started smiling, after all.]
no subject
I think you know the guy; Tall, strong, blue, good with machines. You know, everything an oliveblooded girl could want.
no subject
It's about time he let someone in. I'm so happy for you both!
no subject
I owe it to a curse, and alcohol, in a away.
[It being the only good thing to come of that particular curse.]
I apparently confessed while severely inebriated...
no subject
no subject
I seem to have been hit by a repeat of one of the curses we already had. It spurred me to drink far more then any one living being should. I am a little ashamed of it actually, at least as far as what I can remember.
[Then there was the part she remember little bits of, that wasn't for a young jadeblood to hear.]
no subject
Oh... That must have been quite the quantity of alcohol then. I home there weren't any other problems caused by your impressive inebriation.
[If there was any particularly embarrassing event caused by the alcohol, it couldn't be that bad right? I mean, it's not like Disciple did the Pineapple Trick in the middle of the plaza or something.]
no subject
Well, I do Recall talking to Nepeta and Karkat as well, and telling them things I probably should not have...
[Nope, no pineapple trick, she was not that drunk. She did the one trick that involves claws, teeth, and a purple seahorse.]
no subject
[Speaking of the pineapple trick, Katia would be a hilarious character to play... and terrible if it was in a smut game.]
no subject
[Then she cocks an eyebrow.]
Oh? Nothing too bad, I hope.
[She would yes, if you like watching all your CR ultimately fail and burnout. She would be so depressing... especially in a smut game.]

People always get so caught up with nudity, it is rather silly.
So how did he take it? Typical loud Karkat-fashion, I assume?
[A small pause, a mischievous smile spreading to Disciple's face.]
And what of Kanaya, does she enjoy the fringe benefits of the job?
[There goes Disciple, laughing again.]
no subject
I don't pay attention to such things when I'm working. It wouldn't be professional.
no subject
Oh, I know, I know.
[A wave of the hand.]
I am in an exceptionally jovial mood, and I believe it is making me especially silly right now.
no subject
And yes, Karkat reacted fairly negatively, though he didn't really start screaming or anything. He usually doesn't get that angry with me.
Anyway, how has your fresh new quadrant been doing then? You're obviously pleased. Had any good feelings jams yet?
no subject
Darkleer asked for a trinket as a token of our moirallegiance. I did not have anything that would have felt worthy, so I thought to make something. I have a pendant, and I was hoping you could help me intricately braid a length of my hair around it.
no subject
[Naturally Kanaya was prepared for this, even with the moderately short warning of the text. She has a box full of twines, threads, strings and ribbons available to pick through.]
no subject
[Disciple admires the box of sewing supplies.]
Wow, you work quick, do you not? Here, let us see what will work the best.
[Disciple fishes out the intended pendant, A small silver disk with a Leo symbol in it, and a grove around the outside where she intended to set the braiding.]

[Disciple beams.]
I like the blue and green intertwined. I think they would be fine by themselves, with the hair serving as the neutral color.
no subject
[She starts picking through the box, trying to untangle a mess of twines and strands. There are a few different half finished braids in here, their loose ends hopelessly knotted together with the rest of the supplies. Kanaya's organized enough to find this box of specific crafts, but very few people could expect to keep something like this from becoming a gordian labyrinth. It's a trans-universal fact that enough cables or strands left together will, no matter how well organized when packaged, eventually become a terrible mess.]
no subject
[Disciple stares in awe at the box of tangled strings and twines. Trans-universal fact or not, It was quite rare to see something of Kanaya's quite so unorganized.]

[And yet, Kanaya knows nothing of the Dualscar situation. The joke is tasteless enough with what little she's seen, but she wouldn't be that blatant about it if she knew that the violet and olive trolls were... whatever it is they're doing.]
no subject
Yeah, I can imagine that would be the better bet.
no subject
[Oh yes. Observant indeed. Not that she has any reason to suspect Disciple is hiding anything from her... but she does have to ask.]
How have you been getting on with Dualscar, by the way? I know his relationship with Signless has been something of an issue for you...
no subject
It is... complicated.
[You know, 'drunken pailing' kind of complicated.]
no subject
Have you told Signless about what happened yet?
[Kanaya is, of course, referring to the incident that involving the Disciple attacking her throat. Not that she realizes there's some other "what happened" that has more recently occurred and may be more on Disciple's mind.]
no subject
[The reaction was immediate, and a bit much. There was a slight olive blush on her cheeks as she realizes just how skittish she was being. The oliveblood also realizes what Kanaya must have meant.]
I mean, yes... Yes. I finally was able to work up the courage to speak with him about it. I actually sort of told him in the process of telling him all the ill things that befell me after he died... It was a bad conversation, but had to happen.
[Disciple lets out a sour sigh. The memories still haunted her, and bringing them up to her matesprit had only served to remind her what she had waiting for her return.]
no subject
[She reaches out to grip the hand of her friend in an gesture of support.]
Did things get better after that? I would hope that such a necessity would clear the air a bit... and I would hate to have caused any trouble for you both.
no subject
You are worried about causing trouble for me? Dear, I was the one who would have... hurt you so terribly, were you not so resilient.
It.. It did get better after the talk. Much better, actually. It was a weight of my shoulders I sorely needed.
[Disciple offers up a succinct sigh.]
I do not like having to hide anything from him, especially something quite so major. I am just glad I was able to tell him this time. I am also so very thankful that I have gotten much better control of myself since then.
no subject
...
Maybe we should get back to the braiding.
no subject
Besides, I have got a present to make, this is a happy occasion.
[Disciple shakes off the mild sadness that had been creeping in on her and flashes a smile. Thoughts of her new moirail did not hurt.]
no subject
[She gestures at a nail sticking half way out of the counter, bent upwards. Normally something would be hanging on it, but for now it serves as an adequate anchor for this project.]
no subject
Okay, let us see if I can manage this.
[Disciple sets to her task, with help from Kanaya, focusing very intently on the three little strands.]
no subject
no subject
[She continues to work carefully with her hands. Twining the braid into existence.]
He might even like it longer, anyways. It will be nice to give him the choice, at the very least.
