[CLOSED] Statement of Intent

Who: Barry/Belial and Serph
Where: Starting on the island.
When: Tuesday, just before the thunderstorm hits.
Style: Starting in [action] but I'll match!
Status: CLOSED like Johnny's door when he sees Barry outside his house--

[Serph stands on the island's beach, just watching the waves roll in and crash on the beach and roll back out. There are dark clouds off in the distance, but they have no significance to Serph; the Junkyard had been filled with constant rainclouds for five years, after all.

Okay so maybe Serph is staring at the sea because, dang, he wants to swim in that. But Tidus had also once told him not to be a dumbass -- not Tidus' actual words -- by swimming in a storm alone.

Decisions, decisions...]

[ Barry had been wandering Vatheon for some time now trying to find Johnny's apartment. He hadn't given up yet, but he'd come across the elevator and as the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat. The temptation to find out what exactly was up there was too strong to resist and Barry road the elevator up till he was on the surface.

[ So there was a top side. He looked around and smiled a bit when he saw Serph standing at the edge of the beach. Just the man he'd need to see. ]

I didn't expect to see you up here.

[Serph turns when he hears a familiar voice address him and nods in greeting. His attention goes back out to the restless waves.]

I enjoy swimming in the ocean.

[In the same armour he's wearing right now, even. It's the same thing he wore when he met Barry. It's very rare to see Serph wearing anything different. His attention returns to Barry.]

Did you find your friend?

I've never bothered.

Are you sure it's safe wearing all that?

[ Not that Serph's choice in wardrobe bothered Barry. It was rare he changed his own outfit as he was rather fond of the suit and cape. ]

Yes, I did find him.

[Serph nods. It's good to hear Barry found his friend. He doesn't understand the question, though, and tilts his head accordingly.]

I've always worn this.

[Even from the very beginning of what he remembers. He has a question for Barry, though. Even in his human form, it was hard not to notice that kind of scent.]

Are you a demon?

It seems heavy. I'd worry you'd sink.

[ Though it's not as if he's had a good feel of whatever that outfits made of so maybe it isn't.

[ His eyes widen at the question. Though he supposes he knew from the beginning there was something off about Serph. ]

Why do you ask?

[Mmm well, he's fought underwater before, so going for a quick dip isn't really a big deal to him.

But he answers Barry's question first; it seems he was correct. Serph shakes his head. His reasons aren't particularly malicious.]

I was curious. Though there are other demons here, they are not common.

Hmm so there are others?

[ Barry doubted they were quite of his own ilk, but it was good to know. ]

And you? You're not quite human are you?

[The first question seems more rhetorical, so Serph doesn't answer it. Instead, he focuses on the question directed at him. Serph shakes his head. He's... a lot of things. But the description people understand best is...]

I'm part demon.

That's why you could tell what I am?

[ That made sense. It also explained the slight affinity he felt towards Serph. ]

[Serph nods. But...]

I wasn't certain. The scent of demons from other worlds is different.

[There's a flash of lightning, still distant, followed by a low rumble of thunder some seconds later.]

Hmm, I've noticed.

[ Serph wasn't quite what he was used to, but that explained it. ]

It seems it might rain....

[Serph looks to the sky, as the clouds are rapidly rolling in.]

Does rain bother you?

[Almost everyone has some problems with it, whether it's because they dislike getting wet, or that it represents something they're not very fond of.]

No, but I prefer not to get my cloths wet.

[ Barry smiled sweetly at Serph. ]

Maybe you and I could leave somewhere?

[ He did want to learn more about the type of demon Serph was, and just how close he was to Johnny. Interesting that his unwilling lover would choose a demon as a friend. ]

[Ah, one of the usual reasons. Serph supposes it is a little troublesome, when most clothes seem to get much heavier when wet. Serph nods, agreeing to Barry's suggestion; he doesn't mind forgoing a swim to talk more with Barry.

Serph turns to start walking towards the elevator.]

Where would you like to go?

Your place?

[ At last Barry was blunt about it. He follows close behind Serph as the clouds roll in behind them. ]

[Serph's just as direct in return.]

It would be best if you chose another location. I do not wish to show the efforts of my Tribe's attempts to find another food source.

[It's spoken in the same even tone. There's a sprinkle of raindrops coming in now. Nothing terribly wetting, but there can only be more to come. Now that they're at the elevator, all they can do is wait for the Station Master to arrive.]

Food source?

[ Now Barry was curious. While they waited for the Station Master to arrive the first drops of rain started to fall. ]

[Ever since he went public with the nature of his Tribe's diet, Serph has been less secretive about his devouring. People here understand the situation they are in, and for that, he is grateful.]

We consume Vatheon's natives. The bodies of sapient creatures give us sustenance in the same manner food from shops give sustenance to other foreigners.

Oh?

[ Now Barry's really curious. ]

So you consume the flesh of humans?

[ Serph already knows he's a demon so he has no problem asking the next question. ]

Maybe I can dine with you sometimes~

[Serph tilts his head.]

Do you hunt because it is necessary?

[Because he knows another cannibal, but he doesn't need human flesh to live.]

In a manner of speaking.

[ About as much as people needed chocolate to live. It wouldn't kill him if he didn't eat flesh, but that made life such a bore. ]

[So it's not vital to Barry's survival. Then...

Serph shakes his head.]

I have no desire for unnecessary bloodshed.

[So no, Barry, he's not sharing his meals of humans with you :T But...]

I do not mind dining at one of Vatheon's shops with you.

[And hey look, here's the elevator with the Station Master coming up!]

[ Barry starts to pout a little but the alternate suggestion pleases him so he smiles instead. ]

I'd love to.

[ The rain fully breaks then, a downpour coming down upon them. Barry hurries into the elevator before he can get too wet. ]

[Serph is in less of a hurry to make it to the elevator, being accustomed to being rained on. But he, too, heads for the elevator, accidentally brushing against Barry on the way...

...and

...... it appears he is stuck ......]

[ Barry's eyes widen as he suddenly finds his hand attached to a rather intimate place on Serph's body. It had been an accidental brush, a small movement as he turned to make way for Serph entering the elevator and now here he was hand on crotch.

Well there were certainly worse things. ]

It seems you and I have a small problem.

[POKERFACE :|

Serph. Stares for a brief moment. He's... probably not as bothered at another person would be, although the Station Master looks amused. His voice is still steady and seemingly unperturbed by this new predicament; he's heard about the week's curse.]

Let's step inside.

[Which he will do. Good thing he's wearing an armoured thong otherwise this could have been a whole lot more uncomfortable! (Or does the armoured thong make it worse...?) When they're ready, the Station Master will bring the pair down into the city proper.]

[ Barry moves aside as he's originally meant to do but it feels like he's pulling Serph along by the crotch. Which is really quite amusing when you think about it. ]

You don't seem bothered by this.

[ Barry had only had the pleasure of dealing with this once, and that had been more than amusing enough for him. He hadn't really been expecting it to happen again. ]

[Being pulled along by his crotch is pretty uncomfortable but Serph stoically endures it. POKERFACE. With a small shudder, the elevator makes its way down.

Serph's gaze goes to the walls of elevator, where he can see the water outside flowing past the elevator.]

I've heard about this week's curse. Our situation was not intentional.

[He doesn't see any reason to make a big fuss about it.]

Hmm that's on way of putting it.

[ Though he has to wonder how Johnny would react to this. ]

Are none of your friends going to be upset by this?

[Serph turns his attention to Barry's face -- not his hand -- and tilts his head.]

Is there a reason they should be upset?

[ Barry shrugged. ]

You tell me. You would know your friends better than me, I can't imagine anyone would be happy to know you were stuck in such a [ He flexed his fingers a bit though it was doubtful the point would get across considering the armor. ] compromising position.

[Serph does feel a slight pressure at the finger flexing, though, and his reaction is to step away. Which doesn't quite work, given their situation. Continuing on as if nothing had happened...]

If it's a problem, an explanation should suffice.

[A thought occurs to him.]

Do you believe your friend will be upset?

Hmmm~ He might be.

[ Actually Barry was sure if Johnny found out he'd flip out. It would be quite amusing. ]

But that's if he finds out.

[ Which really more meant when in Barry's book but he'd keep the ammunition for later. ]

[Mmm, well, it's not a terribly big deal to Serph, so he nods in acknowledgement of Barry's words, but doesn't say anything further. By this time, the elevator reaches the underwater city, shuddering slightly before it stops.

Well, Serph's stepping off the elevator, and unless Barry wants to be dragged forward by Serph's crotch, he's probably coming, too.]

Have you decided where you wish to go?

I don't think either of us has much of a choice in where the other picks.

[ Barry shrugs a shoulder slightly. ]

If you wont take me to your home, where will you take me?

[Good question. If Barry thinks there will be trouble from his friend, then it would be best if they didn't hang around a place they could be easily seen.]

Is your friend likely to visit a library?

[ Barry paused to think about that for a moment. ]

Hmm, no I don't think so.
