Recovery - (backdated into oblivion)
Who: Zelos and Zelda (and anyone else who might visit while Zelos is holed up. Please talk to me first)
Where: Ordo 3
When: 11/3 morning
Status: Closed
[It's an hour after dawn when Zelos finally shows up at Ordo again. This wouldn't be odd normally - the Chosen is often out at all hours owing to his much truncated necessity for sleep, but this time it's his first sojourn back home in a week, since the first time the fairies had melted into nightmares.
He's quiet when he enters, not wanting to disturb the other residents if they were able to get sleep, a small pang of guilt gnawing at him as it occurs that Zelda may have had a curse of her own. He hadn't thought about it all week, too wrapped up in his own lack of self worth. And really it just goes to show how his thinking is right. He's selfish and should have thought-
No.
Stop.
Breathe.
He seats himself at the kitchen table, taking a long breath and closing his eyes, trying to relocate that center Sheena had guided him to, that place where he still wasn't the greatest, but he wasn't completely terrible either. What Guy had said before, when he'd come back to life.
For once, he tries just to let himself be human.
That's likely how Zelda finds him. Leaning a bit on his arms on the table, eyes closed and hair partially obscuring his expression.]

She's heading to the kitchen to make a little tea before bed, having taken to being nocturnal during this curse since getting a decent night's sleep is basically impossible. When she spots Zelos there, she can't stop herself from immediately going to his side and hiding her face on his shoulder, shaking slightly.]
You came back. I couldn't find you... but you came back.
no subject
It's what she is, after all. Family. Not the kind of family he'd been used to all these years, but the kind Sheena spoke of, the kind with support and care, the kind he can acknowledge in this moment because he's too exhausted to second guess if he really deserves that kind of trust.]
Yeah, I'm here. I'm sorry. Are you alright?
[Obviously not, but it's more of an invitation to tell him what's wrong if she feels the need.]
no subject
I have been better. It is not so terrible now. The visions fade somewhat if you tell someone about them.
[At this point, she's confided at least a little in three people, so they're bearable. She almost asks Zelos what he's seen. She opens her mouth to do it even, words right on her lips before she remembers what happened with Guy.
She closes her mouth, putting on a small smile.]
It's almost over.
no subject
But Zelda not asking is so strange it makes him meet her eyes, curious at the break from her usual nosy character.]
...what happened?
no subject
Even so, she's still not exactly sure what he's asking here.]
What do you mean?
no subject
[He probably could have phrased that better but in his state his hold of polite speech is tenuous at best. The worry, however, is evident on his face and in the way he keeps his arm on her protectively. Whatever it was, he should have been here, he should have been stronger, braver, not run away.]
no subject
[That came out harsher than she'd wanted it to. These past few months... Zelda shakes her head, taking a breath to calm herself.]
With this sort of thing, this curse, if someone asks you to talk openly about what you're seeing, you'd expect that they trust you enough to do the same in return, wouldn't you? Otherwise it's uneven. You've exposed yourself and let down your defenses, but the other person hasn't done that at all.
[She's not talking about Zelos.]
no subject
Well I can see why it'd be difficult to talk about this kind of thing, but... who're we talking about?
[He's having a little trouble keeping up what with his exhaustion and all.]

[It hurts that it feels like he can't trust her, more than it hurts with other people. It's mostly the fact that they're supposed to be in a relationship. She still hasn't said in as many words that she's basically dating Guy now, since she's not entirely sure what label to put on it. She's even less sure now.]
no subject
[He sighs and leans back in his chair.]
He should know better, if you ask me, but you gotta give the man a bit of a break. He hasn't dated in... well, ever. I'm pretty sure he doesn't really know how to treat a girlfriend.
[The words are mostly to help Guy out. Really, Zelos has seen hints that his friend has been through far more than he's letting on, and he's got trust issues up the wazoo, not that Zelos is really in any position to call him on that but in this case? If he'd hurt Zelda? The proverbial gauntlet's been thrown. He trusted Guy to take care of her, and he finds this instead.
He'll go set him straight once he's sure Zelda's alright. If anything, it's something of a welcome distraction.]

[How does he know?]
2/3
3/3
[She definitely thinks Zelos saw them kissing.]
no subject
[Guy had done some weaseling of his own too, but that's not anything Zelda needed to know. Strictly brotalk. Still he perks up a bit. So they'd done more then just decide they were a couple, eh? Good for them. Especially Guy, considering.
Well, not good if he'd really hurt her because Zelos was going to knock out his teeth but...
...no he's not happy about this, not really. What the hell!
Ahh, but he can't get mad at Zelda for it. She's only apologizing for the rules, not for it happening overall. Which means she probably was invested at the time.
And Guy may be a good guy but he's still a guy which means he can't be trusted until Zelos has grilled him for good.
Despite all of this racing through his head, the only thing that comes out of Zelos' mouth is]
Huh.
no subject
We just... kissed...
[On the couch with her half laying on top of him, that is. As far as she's concerned, that's downright scandalous.]
no subject
Guess you'll have to go out and get yourself a chastity belt then, you hussy~
no subject
I shudder to think of the sort of contraption we would need for you, then!
[A leash with a choke collar? Yes, that sounds about right.]
no subject
[He can't quite stop laughing, even if the pulling on his ear adds insult to injury.]
I'm gonna end up looking like some weird red-eared raccoon at this rate!
[He is still sporting two black eyes from Sheena's shoving open of the hotel door, though they're already beginning to fade a little. He heals quickly thanks to the crystal.
Of course, he never could help himself...]
And at least I don't bring my booty calls home.
[He really, really can't.]
no subject
[She's huffing, but she's not really all that mad with him. It's nice to see him laughing again. The fact that he got incredibly smashed and kissed her isn't something that bothers her a lot anymore, she's sorted out her feelings for him since then.]
no subject
[Zelos is possessed of an excellent memory, sometimes too excellent for his own tastes, but the amount of alcohol it takes him to get drunk is definitely enough to cause blackouts in anyone and alcohol poisoning in most. So it's really no wonder that it takes him a long moment to recall just what Zelda might be talking about.
Zelos blushing is a rare sight. Enjoy it while you can, Zelda.]
It's not like that! You're like my sister!
no subject
I feel that way, too.
no subject
[This.. isn't what he expected out of this conversation in the slightest, even if it does kind of make him feel even a bit better. Still, better get it back on track. He rises from his seat at the table, patting her shoulder awkwardly.]
I've got something to take care of, but I'll be back before tonight, alright? I, ah... well, sharing isn't really something I'm willing to do with this, but I'll be here, anyway.
[Still awkward. And he knows he simply can't share with Zelda like he knows she'd prefer. Setting Guy's head back on straight though? At least that he can do, and maybe not feel so undeserving of those familial feelings they'd both just admitted to.]
no subject
[He doesn't have to say that he doesn't want to share. She can already guess what his nightmares entail anyway, though if he's around tonight she'll be more than a little surprised to see the physical resemblance between herself and his mother.]
If you're going out, wait a moment.
[She reaches up to heal his eyes the rest of the way. It's one thing for him to come home looking like that, but going out that way is difficult for her to picture.]
no subject
Thanks. Can't believe I forgot about that!
[Really he can, the state of mind he's still trying to fight off, but at least he's actively trying again.]
I'll see you in awhile.
[Hopefully with Guy. He might need some black eyes healed too.
With a wave over his shoulder Zelos makes his way back into the early morning.]
