What: Ky might have gotten drunk with Zelos, and now he's going to sit in the sun.

Status: There might be attempts at hugs with CR where there wouldn't usually be, since Ky is a cuddly drunk.

[Ky knows better than to try to do a patrol of any sort when he's drunk. It's the only firm time he'll willingly relieve himself of his duties, and for that reason it doesn't happen often, hasn't happened in the nine and a half months he's been in Vatheon. Now that it has, it feels kind of pleasant, like he's letting go of everything that's happened over the past month.

He takes himself to the island, where the sun feels wonderful on the fur of his ears and tail -- the parts of him that aren't human, he reflects -- to sprawl out on the ground on his stomach and bask it in, for a little while. He's more than open to conversation if anyone comes upon him, although for now he's actually quite self-content, one hand absently petting his own tail while he watches the water.]

That's what counts, right? And sometimes people who are really opposite get along better than you might think, once you get past a few things.

I suppose so.

I don't think we can be friends, though. Not the way other people mean friends, apparently.

What are the requirements?

There aren't really any set requirements. Sure, having stuff in common helps. But just wanting to hang out with them and spending time with them. Sometimes it doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to.

I'm sure he doesn't want to spend time with me.

Or, that's what we just did, so I was sure. I'm admittedly a little confused right now.

Have you ever thought of just asking him what he thinks of you? The direct approach is usually the best.

I don't know that it would be something he'd want to talk about.

Oh, fine. You might be missing out on getting a new friend, though.

Friendship is apparently a complicated concept anyway, so I'm not sure... I need it.

It's only as complicated as you make it. Everyone needs friends. What's life without them?

I've done fine without them before. Really!

I do have other friends here. If Zelos and I don't get along there's no need to push it.

Does Zelos not have enough friends of his own?

I don't know Zelos, so I don't know how many friends he has. But it's not like someone can only have a certain amount.

No, it just doesn't seem necessary to me to push friendship where it doesn't seem like it would be very natural.

I do. I think you and he would get along better than the two of us, anyway, and you don't know each other yet.

[Partly because she's female, yes, and Zelos seems to get along well with women, and partly because she's clearly more sociable than Ky is.]

Well, if I ever meet him, I guess we'll find out.

[Perhaps she should stop by the club again and meet him in person. Once she ditches the cat ears, anyway.]
