It's still too early to wake up

Anyone who was at the plaza today would notice a scantily clad young woman lying on the ground nearby the coral. From afar she might had seemed unconscious, but one who came closer would realize she was only sleeping.

If anyone tried to wake her up she would only stir a little and mumble in her sleep:

"Lemme sleep... five more minutes."

Better wake her up quickly or else she was going to catch a cold.

Normally Dhaos does not speak to newcomers; he's hardly part of the Welcoming Committee, and not many of them really catch his interest. To be sleeping in the plaza while wet and barely clothed though... That's a cause for concern.

He kneels down next to the woman - Aselian by the feel of her mana - and softly calls out to her.

"Miss...? Are you alright?"

It really takes a bit to actually wake Rodi up and maybe if it wasn't for that oddly familiar voice that she was sure shouldn't be here Rodi would be still sound asleep.

But she isn't. Her eyes open right away and she stares at the person before her.

"...Dhaos?" she asks. Is he really here? Is it some kind of illusion? Or maybe it's just a dream? It has to be a dream! After all... it couldn't be...

Yuan just happened to be passing by. He's still in the 'exploring Vatheon' stage, himself. There were so many nooks and crannies and districts to be found- the map didn't quite do it justice. Every so often, he'd return to the coral to observe it some more. It was in vain, of course, as the coral remained just that. Coral.

Imagine his surprise when he found a girl sleeping there, today. "... Excuse me, miss."

The said girl stirred a little in her sleep, then mumbled:

"It's too early..."

It didn't seem she was planning to wake up anytime soon.

Yuan crossed his arms over this chest, peering down at the girl. Somehow, she reminded him of someone. Perhaps Lloyd- this seemed like something Lloyd would do.

"It's past noon."

Rodi reluctantly opened her eyes and only then she realized that she was soaking wet and lying on the ground. She quickly sat up and looked around.

"Huh? Where am I?"

She didn't even seem to notice the man. She did notice the coral though.

"...Vatheon again, huh?"

Progress at last. Yuan couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her words, though.

"Again?"

"Yeah!" the young woman replied now smiling cheerfully. "I've been here before. Not for too long, but still."

She quickly stood up, then looked around once again. Ah, memories of Vatheon. Rodi didn't have many of them, but at least she had some. She wondered how much time passed since the last time she was here.

"This place sure didn't changed much."

He frowned, trying to recall what the brochure said on this subject. That some foreigners experienced the "come and go", and might not always remember Vatheon when they returned. Obviously, this girl did.

"Then, you were home for a while?"

He visibly startles a little at the mention of his name. Someone who knows him? ...But if she knows him, how is it that he has no idea who she is...?

"...How do you know my name?"

Who would have thought that one little sentence could make her freeze in one place and make her heart ache.

"...What do you mean?" it has to be a dream. "You... don't remember me?"

It has to be a dream.

"That's right. For a very short while."

It was only a few minutes in her world, but she knew better that she could had been gone for months or years in Vatheon.

"In that case, I suppose I should say 'welcome back'."

He couldn't imagine the girl would be that happy to be back in Vatheon, though. Dhaos told him that not everyone had a life to return to, but surely she must've, or she wouldn't have experienced a 'short while' home.

The look of pain on her face reminds him of his own first meeting with someone he knew here. It had...hurt very badly.

"...I apologize, but I do not."

He offers her a towel.

"Here. It would do no good for you to catch cold."

No matter where she was, Rodi was always smiling and cheerful. That was just part of her personality.

"Thanks!" she replied with a happy smile, then she turned around.

"Alright, I'd better find a towel or something now." but then, almost as if she just remembered something, she glanced at the man again. "Oh, my name's Rondoline E. Effenberg by the way. Thanks for waking me up!"

Yuan just bowed his head. He wasn't entirely sure if he should be thanked for something like this, as he wasn't exactly polite about waking her up. Still, he wasn't going to say anything against it.

"... The name's Yuan." He would've suggested the Welcome Committee's building for a towel, but... Well, she'd been here before. She could probably find her way around with no problems.

She shakes her head almost instantly.

"It's not your fault."

But it still hurts. The person that was so dear to her doesn't even remember her. She's been searching for him for so long, wishing to meet him, to talk to him and when she finally found him, he didn't remember her...

Still it isn't his fault. She isn't blaming him, like he couldn't blame him for anything else. Even though she did not agree with what he was doing back home. Even though she did not hesitate to fight him. He still is someone dear to her and memories about him are still her most precious ones.

She takes the towel from him.

"Thank you..." what could she say now? "I... My name is Rondoline E. Effenberg."

It feels so strange to introduce herself to him.

Rodi was going to be fine, no need to worry.

"Nice to meet you then!"

And with that she was about to go, but stopped and walked up to Yuan. Perhaps she was a little too close to him now? In any case, she was giving him a curious look.

"...How long have you been here?"

She needed some new information about this place and since Yuan was already here...

Yes. Yes, she was a bit too close for his liking. Yuan automatically took a step back to compensate for it.

"Almost two weeks. ...Why?"

Rodi put a hand on her hip.

"I only thought that maybe you could tell me what was going on around here while I was gone."

She looked thoughtful for a moment, then smiled again.

"Not sure how long I was gone, though."

He shook his head faintly. There was no way for him to tell how long she'd been gone or how much she'd missed during that time.

"The only thing I can tell you is that at the moment, there seems to be a serial killer on the loose. I'm unsure how many have died by his hand and unless it hasn't been publicly announced, he hasn't been caught yet."

"A serial killer? Here?"

Rodi wasn't happy to hear that. She remembered Vatheon as a pretty peaceful place. A serial killer around here wasn't something she expected to hear about.

"Rondoline..."

The name does not ring any bells, and though she does not blame him, he still feels terrible about it. Perhaps being sealed away those ten years had damaged his mind even more than he originally thought. The thought scares him a bit.

"...How do we know eachother?"

"When I was a little girl I met you in the Forest of Spirits..." she paused, not sure if she should just tell him everything. Would that change something? She doubted it would.

"Yes, apparently."

Considering the killer even managed to make a victim out of someone like Lloyd, it wasn't someone to be taken lightly, either.
