It's not exactly unusual to see Roxas in the vicinity of the ice cream shop. He's probably one of its top customers, aside from the not-having-to-pay part.

What is a little unusual is that he's eating... strawberry ice cream. It's gotten to the point where he doesn't have to say what flavor he wants, but this time the lady at the counter gave him something different, remarking she heard it was his favorite. He's overheard a few similarly strange things from the natives, but mostly harmless stuff about people he doesn't know and he dismissed most of it.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with trying new things, right? Actually, strawberry's not bad.

((Another rumor going around which Roxas hasn't heard is that he likes kissing folk. Vanitas sure got all the important parts out of that diary. So be forewarned your character may be subjected to kissing... on the cheek.))

Ruca blushed even more and frantically shook his head.

"N-no! I've never kissed anyone!" Except he didn't plan to say the last part. It just happened. "Ah..."

The situation became even more awkward to him and this time he tried to hide his red from blushing face in his hands.

"Um... I-I... I don't know if it's a curse..."

He hoped it was, though, but... If it was one then what kind of curse could it be...?

"W-well, I- barely have..."

He grew redder himself, partly because of how awkward he was making Ruca, and partly because of the memory of that 'barely.'

"Um... M-maybe, you're not affected..."

Hearing "barely" Ruca glanced at Roxas, but didn't ask what the other meant; the situation was embarrassing enough as it was.

"Maybe you're right..." was all he could answer. As soon as he returns home he'll make sure to check the network about any curses.

"S-sorry about that, anyway," he said, scratching his head.

"At least- it was only on the cheek, right?"

That didn't have to be such a big deal, he was pretty sure. Some people would do that with friends, right?

"R-right... No need to worry!" he rubbed his cheek. "It's not a big deal..."

But to him? It was a huge deal. People aren't exactly affectionate with him.

"Right, no big deal."

But maybe it was still a small deal? (If that made any sense...) Roxas wasn't exactly that affectionate with any of his friends either. Hugs were still awkward for him sometimes.

"Um. So." Something else, something else. "Did you wanna get ice cream, too?"

For Ruca hugs were always awkward. Always.

But yes let's talk about something else. Ruca welcomed the change of the topic with a smile, that still seemed somewhat awkward.

"Actually, yeah..." he thought it wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Roxas smiled, almost non-awkwardly, and turned to lead the short way back to the ice cream shop.

"Have you tried strawberry before?"

Ruca followed him, then nodded at the other's question almost right away.

"Yeah." Strawberry was one of the most common flavors, wasn't it? He was pretty sure everyone tried it at least once.

"But speaking of... I think you said you always have sea-salt ice-cream."

Roxas said he has them all the time.

"That's right." All the time, to the point where Roxas was almost unaware there were any other flavors.

"I don't know why, but the lady thought strawberry was my favorite today."

He pulled open the door to the shop and held it for Ruca.

"...If you're buying sea-salt all the time, why would she think that?"

That was something he didn't understand. Maybe she mistook Roxas for someone else? It was possible...

Ruca entered the shop and waited for Roxas.

Possible, and even probable, if Ven weren't currently asleep on his couch.

"I dunno. The locals are saying a lot of weird things today."

Roxas followed Ruca inside, taking a few bites out of his ice cream.

"They sure are, aren't they?" Wait a moment... "...But isn't it strange?"

It was. It was really strange. There were suddenly too many rumors, despite everything.

Roxas blinked at him, not following. "Isn't that what I said?" He was pretty sure weird was the same as strange...

"...I mean that it's strange they say so many weird things. No, actually... it's suspicious. There's suddenly so many rumors."

Maybe if he actually paid some attention to those strange rumors he could figure something out.

"Suspicious...?"

Roxas tried to think over the rumors he could remember hearing.

"They all seem really harmless, though. I mean, maybe someone spread around the ice cream thing, too?" It wasn't like it was doing him any harm to be eating a different flavor for once.

"Yeah..."

They not only seemed harmless, but also kind of pointless. And yet he couldn't help but have a bad feeling about that.

Or maybe it really was just him.

"...Maybe I'm just thinking too much."

"Well, there's been- bad stuff going on," Roxas said with an uncomfortable shrug. "Maybe that's just getting to you."

"...You're probably right."

He tried to smile a little.

"But never mind that. We came here to get some ice-cream, right?"

Changing the topic again.

"Right," Roxas said with a smile and a nod. Ice cream. Always a safe topic.

"So what flavor are you getting?"

They were probably the best topic ever. But asked about the flavor Ruca made a thoughtful look.

"...Which one should I get? ...Maybe vanilla?"

"Why not? Vanilla's like a standard flavor, right? They've probably got it down."

Not that Roxas had actually tried that either. It was probably remarkable enough he even knew it was a standard.

"You're right, but... I was thinking of a few other flavors."

Decisions are difficult. Not like this matter was so important, really. He could just take some random flavor and still be happy. He never was picky.

"Well, if you get two scoops, you could get two different flavors."

Ice cream was totally an important decision, but this way it would be easier.
