Who: Ky Kiske and Sol Badguy (or the other way around)
Where: The island
When: Very earlly morning of the 17th
What: Sparring and shenanigans
Style: Prose
Status: Closed
Getting Sol to agree to fighting him was Ky's tour de force, a victory that he couldn't be assured would be repeated in the future -- particularly if he had clear problems keeping up -- and Ky wasn't about to beg out just because he was tired. They'd been going for a couple of hours, maybe, time wasn't exactly the most important thing to keep track of.
Ky picked himself up off the ground to throw another ball of lightning at Sol's face, keeping his sword high as he moved in for a closer attack. He could feel his muscles protesting, but he wasn't a quitter, and surely Sol had to be close to his breaking point too. Sol went pushing into him and Ky went stumbling back, not quite able to keep himself from falling to the ground again, and blacking out.
When he came to he was immediately aware that something was quite wrong. For one thing he could see his own body lying there, and when Ky moved his hands to make the sign of a cross they felt heavy and simultaneously energetic, like they had more power in them. He completed the gesture anyway, then resumed starting at himself as he seemed to stir.

ohay /tags into this, whee
And so it happened that Sol was staring at himself, as well. Flatly. Unimpressed. And annoyed at the fact that every movement seemed to just... feel too light and he felt sluggish, tired. It was a bizarre change, one without explanation, until he caught sight of his "own" attire. Which gave way to the rest of the explanation. As if staring up at himself didn't offer it on its own (but there was that whole "out of body" experience bullshit that happened, and this being Vatheon...).
"Ky"'s expression was one of annoyance, lips drawn into a scowl. A very Sol-like scowl.
"Kid," and it sounded bizarre like this, in Ky's voice, but Sol opted to ignore it. "Th'fuck happened?" ...Definitely not a voice used to this kind of speech. Sol held a hand up to rub at his throat; the lack of cigarette crap stubbornly trying to cling to his lungs was another strange feeling.
no subject
"It must be the kind of thing that this place does, sometimes." Ky tried not to focus on all of the ways in which this felt weird, and thinking about the fact that it was some kind of science experiment for them really didn't help. He rubbed his forehead, surprised to encounter Sol's headband there. This whole thing was so bizarre. "It will probably last the week, judging by usual precedent."
Ky took a couple of steps, just to prove he could, and to stop himself from asking Sol what he should do. How would Sol have any ideas with something like this? No, clearly Ky just needed to get through the week, which really shouldn't be so hard as all that.
