A tour with her two dads ~!

Malik hasn't been in Vatheon long, but Sophie's still taken it upon herself to show him all the things (that he's probably already seen) that she's seen and done. Of course it isn't just the two of them, but a third, that being Asbel, both father figures accompanying the not-daughter around Vatheon for a tour as she points out various things.

Pausing by a spot in the plaza, she points, "I was sleeping there. That's where Tiger Festival found me." Tiger Festival being, of course, her silver tabby kitten that was currently sprawled across her shoulder, enjoying a ride. She is of course, keeping an eye out for familiar faces so she can introduce her friends (new or old) to 'the family'. Asbel will feel better if he knows who she hangs out with right?

[He doesn't laugh, but it takes a bit of effort. Tiger Festival. It's so amusing and cute at the same time. What is it about that name that Sophie and Asbel like so much?]

You were sleeping out in the middle of the plaza?

[Asbel placed his hand on Sophie's head before turning to answer Malik's question.]

Sophie used to wait here in the plaza to see if any of us had arrived in Vatheon.

[He knows this because he tripped over her when he'd arrived.]

[He looks at Sophie.]

How could you be sure that any of us were going to end up here?

[ Smiling at the gesture from Asbel, Sophie nods at Malik. ]

I asked the coral to bring you here. [ Really it was a coincidence, but it was too much of a coincidence for her. Glancing back to Asbel, she adds. ]

But we're still missing Richard...

Well, I'm grateful that it answered.

[He smiles at the two of them. It's the truth. It warms his old-geezery heart to see the two together and to be with them again. He had missed Sophie's naivety and candidness almost as much as he missed seeing his star student growing up into a fine man.

Sophie had a point. His Majesty King Richard was the only one missing.]

[Asbel smiled at Sophie's explanation. He wasn't sure if that was the way the coral worked, but Asbel was glad that he'd been so lucky to come here with most of his friends.

His smile became smaller at the mention of Richard.]

Yeah... But I'm sure he'll be here soon, Sophie.

[He looked at Malik as though his stare could tell him when his mentor had come from. The question of Richard's condition clawed at him but he kept it to himself, not wanting to ruin the mood if it turned out to be ill news.]

So has anyone told you about the mark yet, Captain?

[Asbel's concern about Richard goes unnoticed by Malik. Malik knows that Richard is quite fine and doing very well as King of Windor. It doesn't occur to him that from Asbel's time and point of view Richard may still be the victim of Lambda.]

The mark?

[It takes a moment to register.]

Oh right. The mark.

[He scratches at the middle of his back a little absently.]

Zelda mentioned something about getting one when I arrived but I don't know that much about it.

... do you think, if Richard comes here...

Will he still want to be friends with me?

[ This question is for Asbel as much as it is for Malik - after all, from her timepoint they did fight, and ... ]

Of course he will be! What difference would being in Vatheon make?

You have to visit the coral once a month and touch it with the mark. I don't really know why but it's supposed to keep you healthy.

[He frowned a little at Sophie's question, but he was glad when the Captain answered her first.]

That's right, Sophie. Friends are still friends no matter where they are.

[Richard is still our friend; that's what he wanted to believe.]

[ Sophie at least looks relieved at that reassurance from her dad figures. ]

Okay. Do you think I should make a sign for Richard too? The coral doesn't know what he looks like, and it brought Asbel when I made one.

But it brought you, without one, Captain, and Cheria, Pascal, Hubert and me.

Hmmm. [He rubs his chin as he mulls over having to visit the coral monthly. It seems a little... ominous. Anyway - back to signs.

He smirks slightly at the mental picture of Sophie making a sign to bring Asbel.]

A sign is probably a good idea.
