(Closed) It's candlelight beams
Who: Ky Kiske and Yukio Okumura
Where: The tea shop
When: Afternoon
Style: I'm starting in action but am fine switching to prose
Status: Closed
[Ky still feels guilty about swapping out when he patrols with someone else so that he can meet Yukio when he's free, but he can't deny that thoughts of his religion -- and a sort of quiet loneliness from the fact that he's had no one here to talk with about it who truly understands -- have been on his mind for quite some time now. If he can reach some kind of resolution, then he welcomes it. Might even need it.
He approaches the tea shop confidently, not quite certain what the man he's looking for looks like but confident that he'll be able to recognize him anyway.]

There weren't many people in the tea shop, and Yukio had a more than passing resemblance to Rin. Ky offered the man he thought was Yukio a polite nod. ]
Thank you for agreeing to talk with me.

Of course, Mr. Kiske. From what you said and my own experiences it sounds pretty rare to meet someone that practices the same traditions as yourself.
[With the meet and greet finished Yukio motions back towards the table where he was at.]
Would you like something to drink as well?

[He stops at the counter to order it before he takes a seat at the table.]
There are numerous people here who aren't from Earth and don't seem to have received the kind of revelation that we have on their worlds. Or are from Earth and choose not to believe.

In my line of work, some of my coworkers believe in different traditions and as much as I would like for them to believe in the same religion as myself, I have to allow for them to make their own choices.

It's hard, when if I care about them I want them to follow the path that I know is right.
Particularly if they've never had the chance to believe before.
[He shrugs, pretending a casualness he doesn't feel.]
I'm learning it's better just to not talk about it at all.

[Yukio lightly ran the pad of his thumb around the rim of his mug in thought.]

But here... So much of Catholicism relies on structure, on community. I feel like I'm slipping, myself.

As this is the first time that I am officially meeting you- I lack the ability to provide you with something more then my support and an open offer to be here for you, if there ever comes a time for you to need someone to lean upon. I may not be an official priest but... I was raised by one and I have followed his guidance as best as possible.

Thank you for the offer. I wouldn't want to impose, though, since you don't know me and you're not obligated to me in any way.

....My offer is still open anytime you find yourself deeply troubled by something, unless it is with girls. I am still having trouble with that myself.
[Yukio answered with a small laughing hoping that his little joke would help lift the other's spirit just a bit.]

Understood.
If I can ever help you, I'd like to.
And I'll think about it. We could always just...pray together, if you wanted.

It would be nice to have some semblance of how it was back home.

It would help, I think.
