Weclome to the Creepshow
Who: Ioder, Asakura
When: August 16th, late night
Where: Out in the city, in close proximity to the coral
Style: Prose
Status: Closed
Warnings: Blood, stabbings, general bad things
Another late night at the host club, another quiet walk through the city at night.
Ioder thought nothing of doing this. To him, Vatheon was far safer than most of the places he traveled to, and he actually enjoyed the freedom that came with not needing an escort to get around everywhere. Sure, there were the odd moments when something odd or dangerous happened, like the recent attack on the island, but he still saw no real need to concern himself with safety. Especially when he didn't live terribly far from Golden Victory.
So after bidding Zelos and the few remaining hosts good night, he walked his usual path through the city to the home he shared with Estelle. If anything, while he walked home his mind was more on the fact that Yuri was gone from the city. Estelle didn't seem to be taking it too terribly hard, but he knew his cousin missed Yuri terribly when he wasn't around. He even missed Yuri a little, though he certainly didn't miss the teasing he'd been receiving as of late.
But they would persevere, just as they always did. He had no doubts of that.
He began to hum a bit to himself, an old familiar song from his youth that carried along as he turned down the streets, unaware that he wasn't the only one out there under the odd streetlamps of Vatheon.

But she does notice Ioder, and addresses him.
"Hello!" So cheerful.
no subject
Ioder's reply was just as cheerful, completely oblivious to the fact that this is the same girl who seemed oddly disgusted at his line of work. He continued walking, thinking she was just another resident out for a stroll.
no subject
"Ah, you're Mister Heurassein right?" She asked, putting both of her hands behind her back as she walks.
no subject
That was a little odd. It gets him to stop and turn, finally getting a good look at the girl in the light.
"Oh! Miss Asakura! I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you. That was terribly rude of me. How are you this evening?"
no subject
"And yourself? I do hope you didn't get caught up in the craziness that happened during the eclipse a while ago."
There is concern and worry in her voice, making it seem like just a bit of harmless concern.
no subject
"Ah, I missed it entirely!" he admits with a bit of a sheepish smile, "My cousin and I were planning on going to watch the eclipse, but she wasn't feeling well so we stayed home instead. I'm sorry to hear you were caught up in it, though! Are you recovering alright?"
no subject
She's keeping her eyes on Ioder as she circles in front of him, always making it so he, hopefully, can't get a look at her hands behind her back.
no subject
But individuals confused him. He was book smart and socially dumb, and Asakura had already served to utterly confound him once before. Because of that, he was currently completely unaware of any danger he was in.
The comment does get a raised eyebrow, though. That was certainly an odd way of phrasing it.
"Have you... never been injured before?" he asked, watching her movements.
no subject
"Hm? Ah, no. I've never been hurt before," And she moves her hands, and in the right one happens to be a knife. One she got from Rin Okumura after giving the demon boy his knife set back.
"But that's not important right now, since I'm not the one who will be harmed tonight."
no subject
His voice caught before he could even try to ask what she meant, mostly because his eyes at the very moment he attempt to speak fell on the glint of the blade.
Oh.
His green eyes go huge, foot unsteadily taking a step back as he holds his shaking hands up.
"Wh-why are you doing this... ?"
no subject
Hm, that sounded familiar. Didn't Kyon ask her the same thing? But this time it wasn't to see the data from Haruhi Suzumiya's reaction that is driving her, but the same impatience of then is also behind why she's doing this so soon.
"To observe how the coral works, of course!" She answers, smiling as she absently waves the knife back and forth.
"While my own injury could provide data, seeing how it works on others and how quickly it works is always a good idea."
no subject
Even as he cried out, he had a terribly sinking feeling she wasn't going to listen. There was something disturbingly... empty about her expression. As though it were little more than pasted on to mimic false emotions that didn't exist within her.
no subject
"And don't worry, I won't kill you. That would ruin the observation."
Oh she has emotions, just none of the negative kind.
no subject
He stumbles back another step, shaking his head frantically. He only half heard what she had said, too focused on the fact that some one wanted to stab him
"P... please... don't..."
no subject
Like an arm. Or his shoulder. That is if he doesn't react fast enough to avoid her that is.
no subject
But as the knife gets closer he does finally react, jerking out of the way. He's still not fast enough, though, and the blade digs in to his upper arm deeply as it passes through, leaving a very nasty, bloody gouge in his skin.
The blood stains his white button down and brown vest, droplets rolling down his arm and dripping from his fingertips. He lets out a cry of pain and grasps at the wound, trying to slow the blood.
For another moment he just stares fearfully at Asakura before turning and bolting away as fast as his legs will carry him.
no subject
In fact she'll do just that taking off after him, going much faster than one would expect.
no subject
He skids around a corner, nearly falling in the process, his panicked breathing so loud in his own ears he can't even hear her footsteps hot on his trail.
He had to get away. He had to get somewhere safe. But where was safe? Would going home to Estelle save him, or would that just put her in danger too?
no subject
Since hey, it'll help him and her all at once.
"I don't think I'll ever understand why you humans always run," a pause. "Or try to run."
no subject
Another corner, closer to the coral, and nothing that looked like a decent hiding place. His heart was racing and he already felt dizzy, footsteps stumbling even more as he ran.
no subject
And hey, hey. Asakura is pretty much right behind Ioder now, yet she hasn't made another attempt at stabbing him. Since it seems that the Emperor bleeds.
A lot.
"If you pass out I'll carry you to the coral, so try to not do that alright?"
no subject
Except that right now that would be the furthest idea from Ioder's mind. He just wants to get away, get somewhere that she isn't, eat a damn apple gel and hope he can avoid nightmares some how.
He doesn't want to pass out, not anywhere near her, but fear has worked him up so bad that, coupled with the wound, he's just getting slower and slower. He stumbles again, this time tripping over his feet completely and crashing in to a collection of trashbins.
He hits them rather hard, landing hard enough on his injured arm to elicit a cry of pain as they go clattering noisily around him. He lays there for a moment, panting and whimpering, only opening one eye to watch Asakura fearfully.
no subject
And she's frowning, if he can even see her expression, as she kneels next to him.
"If you had stayed still this wouldn't have happened," is all she says as she slides her knife into the waistband of her skirt so that she has both hands free so she can move to grab a hold of Ioder.
And what is she going to do if/once she gets a hold of him? Why she's going to pick him up and try to carry him to the coral. Now who'da thunk a teenaged girl who is only five foot four could do that.
no subject
"Put me down! Put me down this instant! HELP! SOME ONE HELP ME!"
no subject
"We're not to far from the coral, actually."
Which is true, she had actually did her best to figure out how to reach the coral the quickest way possible. And even with Ioder flailing about, she's running pretty fast to make sure they get there before he passes out.
no subject
He stopped screaming, at least, mostly because it didn't seem like anyone was coming to his aid anyway. But he continued to thrash about, attempting to kick at her or find some way to break free.
"Let go-- let me go, you lunatic!"
no subject
Except she's going to solider through.
"Oh, you'd rather just bleed out in a trash can? I can do that if you wish?"
LOOK AT YOUR LIFE IODER.
no subject
He went quiet, hand gripping at his bloody arm again with a wince of pain.
no subject
There is the coral.
Hopefully he won't mind being very unceremoniously dropped as close to it as Asakura can get.
no subject
Which he isn't doing. He just looks up at Asakura, panting heavily with a look that's halfway between anger and fright.
no subject
"Ah... well this is a bust it seems," she sighs, frowning slightly as she turns her attention to the coral. "Or is it because it's not as powered as it has been before?"
The question is more asked to herself, since she's now turned her attention back to Ioder.
"Thank you for being a test run run, Ioder-kun. But I should be going now, since you were very loud someone is certainly going to come by."
