Izaya couldn't help but tilt his head at Ruca's concerned expression. It was a pretty unusual sight to see. Not to mention, he barely knew the kid. Anyway, did he look so tired? He reached a hand up to scratch absentmindedly under an eye.

"I'm fine. I've just been very busy," Izaya explained, dropping his hand and he even offered Ruca a reassuring smile. "But it's pretty nice of you to be concerned. Even if you don't really know me," he admitted.

He looked a bit surprised at Ruca's immediate cut off and made a mental reminder to ask the boy about that later. Right now, he'd simply just nod his head a little. "Good. Most people who have lived here for a while know about as much as me. Unfortunately, it's not that easy to find out about Vatheon. I've been an informant for a while but I've always focused on people rather than places in general. What good does that do me? But I also came from a world where the city you lived in didn't impact your life so much. Not in the way Vatheon does. It's like Vatheon itself is an individual person," he said and glanced up above, through the branches of the tree and at the globe around them.

"Scaaary stuff."

He dropped his head back down and then almost instantly laugh. "Oh, God, I have a bunch of philosophy books. You probably will sleep right through them," he said, recalling the books that he had gotten in his stocking around Christmas. It had been nice to see old classics. "And you might be too young to get through them but if you really want, I don't mind lending them."

Luckily for Ruca, Izaya is both too tired and hungry to really care about repeating himself. It was the park after all and he could expect people to walk by just fine. He'll continue eating, that is, until he suddenly stopped and then offered a piece of the sushi out to Ruca.

"Do you want to try some? It's really good," he offered.
