Damn.
It happened again. Some one who didn't agree with the way he was dealing with the empire, some one who wanted to make a "statement" that thought the way it needed to be done was by kidnapping him.
At least this time his advisers had the forethought to give him bodyguards before he left Zaphias. Sadly they were probably dead. Emperor Ioder Heurassein considered himself lucky to have gotten out with little more than a nasty whack to the back of his head.
For a few minutes, he'd woken long enough to see a dark room with little in the way of furnishings, and feel that his hands were bound behind his back with a rough and scratchy rope and he was against a wall, sitting on the floor. There was something sticky on the back of his neck. Likely blood. He could hear hushed voices in the room, but they were muffled, and consciousness didn't last long enough to hear what they were talking about.
And that's when things got weird. He had the oddest sensation of floating in water, or rather floating through water. And when he woke up again he was sopping wet, clothes heavy, head still aching something awful, and rather than being against a wall he was face down with his arms still bound behind him.
It was highly uncomfortable, to say the least.
But as uncomfortable as it was, it was also confusing, because it was a lot brighter than it had been before, and the ground was much smoother and cooler, too. When he opened his eyes (much to the displeasure of his still pounding head) he was greeted to a very different sight indeed. Everything was so... clean. Almost shining. And he could have easily been mistaken but... was that water beyond the rise of the buildings?
"What--..." he tried to speak, but his voice came out a raspy cough. A green light flitted around his head, almost as if it was worried about him, but he really couldn't make heads or tails of what it was or why it was there.
After a pained groan and a bit of struggling, he was able to sit up with his arms trapped behind his back, staring blearily at the area before him.
That certainly didn't help his confusion any. Where on Terca Lumireis was this?

"... I've gotten myself in to a very odd situation, haven't I?"

... stupid icons.
That's pretty much Duke's reaction to spotting the blonde young man. He has the feeling he should know who this is, if by basic description more than the faint familiar feel to the clothing nobles in Zaphias wore.
There's an awkward moment of staring - injured, wet, new, and most definitely from Terca Lumireis, as he hears the words. He should know the boy, or know of.
"... The coral heals." Just keeping his distance for now.
/pets
With a bit of an awkward smile, he turns enough to show he's not exactly in any state to touch anything.
"I'm afraid I'm a tad helpless here..."
Oh this poor guy....
But there really was something awe-inspiring and impossibly coincidental about finding a tied up blond. That almost made Izaya want to reevaluate his belief system. Izaya had been walking through the plaza when he noticed the potentially God-sent gift and he tilted his head, leaning his entire body to the side to observe the tied up blond.
Well then.
"My, my," Izaya cooed delectably, approaching the blond with great fiver, "I would say so."
Vatheon really had been very kind to him lately. He didn't know that his karma had been up so high. He side stepped around the boy and instead presented himself in front of him. Izaya squatted down and folded his arms around his knees so that he could properly look at the kid. He looked hurt. He looked wet, more importantly, and that rope looked pretty painful.
"See, I'd let you go," he explained, suddenly flicked a knife from seemingly out of nowhere. The blade glints briefly and he tosses it into his other hand, wagging the knife in front of the blond' face as though to taunt him with it.
"But how do I know that you're not some sort of scary monster?"
Well. This is going to be interesting.
He was about to take that chance when (what he thought was) a bit of good fortune happened. He stared at the person now crouched in front of him with the knife that was just out of reach from his bound hands.
At the question, he gave an awkward smile.
"I'm afraid I don't really have any way to prove to you that I'm not a scary monster. All you would have is my word. But do I really look like one? I'd hope not."
Re: Well. This is going to be interesting.
So one couldn't hold Izaya responsible for making shotgun judgements. Regardless, the boy was right, he didn't really seem like a monster. Even if he was, Izaya didn't think it'd be too much trouble.
"I'll trust you though," he said eventually, sighing heavily as he reached around behind the blond to flick his knife upward and slice evenly through the rope in one go. He withdrew his hand and snapped his blade shut. He stood up shortly after and put his hands into his pockets, looking down at the kid.
"I never got your name," he said, "I'm Orihara Izaya. It's nice to meet you." And with that, he held out a hand to the boy- to help him stand up.
no subject
He took the hand and got to his feet, wobbling a touch but not enough to go toppling over. The question of his name was enough to finally confirm his thoughts, though - this very obviously was not Terca Lumieris.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir," he said, putting a hand to his chest and bowing in a polite yet rather elegant manner. "I am Ioder Algios Heurassein."
no subject
"Ioder Algois Heurassein. Quite the name. Are you royal or something?" he asked. Perhaps it was a little blunt but Izaya wasn't blind to how royalty acted. Not the prestigious and legit type anyway. Besides, the boy looked like he was dressed well- despite his tricky predicament of coming into Vatheon all tied up.
"Why don't you wait here for a second? You're kinda beat up," he said. He could have shown Ioder to the coral. However, Izaya was one of the residents of Vatheon who tried not to depend on the coral for too much. It didn't look like Ioder was too severely injured either. He rushed off to God-knows-where and came back a couple minutes later with a small plastic box.
"C'mon," he said, grabbing Ioder's hand as he passed by him, leading him over to one of the many benches. For a brief moment, he recalled the first time he met Kaori in the Plaza like this- with his bleeding stomach. Shaking the memory off, he sat down and gestured next to him. "You look like you got hit in the back of the head," he explained. "And your wrists probably hurt, hn? How'd you get like that anyway?"
/purrs. /follows home.
"... So it seems." He has a blade on him, but if this one was from Terca Lumireis.... Duke gives a tiny shrug-ish motion and crosses over to crouch behind the blond and start untying those ropes. He has the feeling, other than the fact he wouldn't want to use Dein Nomos on something as simple as this, that using the blade was likely a bad idea.
.... and this blond was most definitely important.
/trololololol
Kohaku instantly rushed over to the boy, kneeling beside him and placing a hand on his shoulder. She wanted to help him into a sitting position, but she didn't want to hurt him more if he was hurt at all.
"H-Hey, are you feeling all right? Any pain? Can I help you sit up?"
/hugs and pets and calls George
It was a relief, getting those ropes off, though his wrists were quite raw from how much he had squirmed around. Nasty red rope burns were visible.
He ignored them for a moment, mostly to get a better look around at the area and his odd surroundings.
"I'm sorry to ask so abruptly, but what is this place?"
*sings~*
"Yes, please. I'm fine, thank you, but I would like my hands free..."
no subject
At the request to stay where he was, he did just that, only fidgeting enough to gently touch each wrist and check them for any further damage. At least he was relatively unharmed, all things considered.
When Izaya returned, Ioder allowed himself to be led off to the bench without protest, and the question earned a bit of an odd smile.
"Oh, well... unfortunately being a noble does garner unwanted attention sometimes. I'm afraid someone took advantage of my caravan passing through and absconded with me."
He carefully omitted that there was political motivations behind it, and that his guards were all likely dead.

"I've never been a fan of head injuries. Although really, I'd rather a head injury than a cracked rib. Have you ever had one of those? They're a real bitch," he said, but then quickly backtracked, "Eheh, excuse me~. So royalty huh? What are you then? A king or something?"
While Izaya may seem to be making idle chatter that was really the furthest thing from his mind. Royal blood had always fascinated and during his stay at Vatheon, he had met quite a few kings, queens, and other fascinating pieces that would make a wonderful addition to his chess board. Granted, certain pieces were irreplaceable.
Izaya stood up and went to instead sit behind Ioder to more easily treat the head wound. After he cleaned it sufficiently, he got a swab with alcohol and tapped the side of Ioder's head.
"It's going to sting." With that, he began to rub the alcohol swab in against the abrasion, though not too much before he pulled it back. "I'm not about to cut your hair or anything for a bandage but that should be okay. It doesn't look too serious anyway," he said, curling his fingers around Ioder's hair to part it away from the damage- eyeballing it carefully.
Izaya might not have been a trained medic or anything but having a friend so thoroughly invested in the medical career meant Izaya knew a few tricks of the trade.
"Do your wrists really hurt...?"
no subject
Clearly, he was not the easily flustered type. At least in these situations. Being grateful for the help and care went a long way towards that too. And, well, he was asking nicely and it wouldn't be right to out and out lie.
"I'm Emperor of Ilyccia, actually," he answered while Izaya cleaned his wound. It did sting, and he hissed a bit at it, but really it was better than leaving it bleeding and dirty.
"Thank you. ... unfortunately, yes. They weren't exactly kind captors."
Do I get a fred too? c:
This might be the familiar glow of a Healing Circle starting. A bit overkill, but it was the healing spell he was more comfortable using. ]
... It is not anywhere upon Terca Lumireis.
FFDKGJDKG SORRY ABOUT THE DELAY. I'm bad at email alerts ;-;
Obviously he wouldn't enlighten Ioder that he was one of those scary people but he'd find out soon enough by gossip. Possibly. That and Izaya had never much cared whether people knew or not. It's not like he could do much of anything about it. Even if he could, he probably wouldn't. In Ikebukuro, he liked his reputation. It was no different here.
"You're welcome. Here. Not like it'll do much but maybe it'll help with the pain a bit," he said, grabbing one of Ioder's hands with surprising gentleness and began to apply some ointment to where the ropes had dug in. His fingers were quick and diligent and he moved onto the next wrist. Once he was done, Izaya seemed satisfied with himself.
"There. How's the Emperor feeling now? Little better? You're still wet. Not much I can do about that though."
... yes. After I get my brain back.
Well. At least his wrists don't hurt anymore. He can worry about what that all means later.]
Vatheon?
It's okay. My brain died for a day anyway xD
Of course knowing his luck, they'd be exactly like Zagi or Alexei.
"Despite being emperor I am capable of taking care of myself, Mr. Izaya. Please don't worry about that."
He watched the ointment get applied to his wrists, moving them around a bit. It still stung, but he was feeling better at least.
"Yes, much. I really do appreciate your help."
muwahahahaaaa!
"I may need to get something to help free you. How did you end up like this, anyway?"
Brains are helpful
[ He's moving away again - out of what would be potential weapon reach, either the reach of his own blade, or any weapon the young lord had. ]
They are. *noms them*
Ioder just head tilts slightly, eyes inspecting the area a bit more.]
Interesting...
x)
:0
The Child of the Full Moon is here as well, young lord. Although no others that I have encountered of Terca Lumireis, this location seems to hold a great deal of others - from both this location and a great many others.
*omnomnom*
The comment gets an odd, confused look that quickly turns in to excitement. He's glad to know he's not here alone, but there's a bit of worry, too. If they're here, who is taking care of the empire in their absence?]
She is? ... I see... I'll have to speak with her as soon as possible then.
[unfortunately there seems to be a small problem - standing is almost instantly met with weak knees and shaking legs, and he winds up back on the ground just as quickly as he tried to stand, letting out a cry of surprise.]
D: don't eat mine!
This may be awkward, but Ioder is now going to experience the detached not-quite-feeling up of someone vaguely trained in medical things checking what his healing spell didn't heal. Studying your eyes now. Can you focus on him?
If anyone asks, it's because Estelle would freak out. ]
Attempting to stand is foolish. I can either aid you to a location [ and he doesn't quite sound thrilled about that ], or contact the young lady.
aww but it would have been delicious!
I... suppose I might need to recover a bit before I go anywhere, won't I?
[and an awkward smile to go with the awkward situation.]
I'm sorry to put you in this position.
D: it might have given you indigestion though
Duke sits back, and after watching Ioder for a moment more, seems to be deciding for contacting Estelle. She's better at this healing stuff than he is. ]
... ah. damn. that's a good point. *gives it back*
[Whatever he decides, it's not like Ioder can really argue.]
/wraps brain back up
Ioder, are you really this short. ]
A bench, this direction.
Re: /wraps brain back up
Thank you...

... Little trouble. [ He's more or less towing Ioder along if he stumbles, but he is adjusting his longer steps to be ones that Ioder... could keep up with easily. ]

... a moment. [ Don't mind Duke tapping about on something that looks a lot like one of the Superstar monsters.
Young Lady; someone of Terca Lumireis you know is injured at the plaza. My arte of healing has done little to aid.
He debates adding more to this, but he isn't quite sure what. So send and wait. ]
no subject
her eyes widened. someone else from Terca Lumireis was here? someone she knew? Estelle didn't need any more information. she just needed to know where they were.
and so, she typed back, as quickly as she could. ]
Where are you?
no subject
The area with the coral - a bench to one side. Should be visible. [ Given that.. Duke still wore his massive amounts of red and his hair is pretty much a beacon. ]
oh, Ioder. you adorable thing, you.
"I take it this is a regular occurrence for you?" She asked, still fiddling with the knot in the rope.
"I'm definitely going to need something to cut through this ..."
That he is.
"I believe my boot knife was taken off my person when I was captured..."
no subject
no subject
... well, it wasn't like anyone was going to attack him in this place. At least, she hoped not. She sighed, then looked to him.
"I'm going to go to a nearby shop and see if I can find a knife or something that can cut through this, okay? I'll be back soon."
no subject
[ and with that, she makes good on her word and leaves to find the plaza. it won't take her long, and when she does approach the two, she stopped and froze at the sight.
Ioder?
and he was hurt? oh, no ... Estelle rushed over as quickly as she could. ]
Duke! Ioder!
[ she was going to give that cousin of hers a hug, dammit. :| ]
no subject
"Alright... I would say 'take your time', but this is rather uncomfortable..."
no subject
Okay, so he will say something as he pockets the starfish. ]
... On her way. [ The moment she shows up, duke is going to vanish though. ]
no subject
In the next second he was tackled in a hug, and by the time he looked back... Duke was gone.
But the name had been spoken, and it rang equally familiar in his ears.
So... that was Duke...
Something he could concern himself with later then because holy hell his cousin was there. He hugs her back tightly, so grateful to see a familiar face.]
Estellise... I didn't know you were here...
no subject
"I understand. I'll be back as soon as I can, I promise."
And with that, she got up and went into a nearby store. Luckily, she was able to find a knife fairly quickly, and, after determining that it could cut through rope, she returned to him, kneeling down in back of him and beginning to saw through the rope.
"All right, hopefully this won't take too long ..."
... actually, it looked like it could take a while.
no subject
"Ah... would you mind telling my your name, miss?" he asked, figuring conversation might distract him from the pain.
