[Tatsumi is late to come home tonight. He knows Tsuzuki is probably there waiting for him, and he should have said something. Then again, that would spoil the surprise he has for his housemate. And well, if he's honest to himself, Tsuzuki is more than just his housemate. He just doesn't really want to define their relationship. Not yet anyway. He has always had trouble expressing his real feelings, especially where his ex-work partner is concerned.

Anyway, since Tatsumi is away for a good time of the day at work, his housemate/friend spends a lot of time alone. That's why he thought that maybe he would like to have a pet keeping him company. So after work, the secretary devoted some time to choose a suitable pet for them. He just hoped Tsuzuki would like the surprise.

So, on this evening, Tatsumi walks into the house somewhat later than usual, holding a box in his hands. The box contains an adorably shy golden retriever puppy. He also brings along a bag with the basic stuff the puppy needs. But they can always go back to the petshop together to choose some toys and other things.

However, Tatsumi finds the house to be a bit silent tonight.]

Tsuzuki-san? I'm home. Are you here?

I am here ! [Asato comes in the house, a bit disheveled and with a few traces of mud on his cheeks.] I was working in the garden and...

[He suddenly notices the box and tilts his head on the side, coming closer.] What is it ?

[Tatsumi smiles at Asato's adorably dishevelled look. He is glad the younger man is taking care of the garden.

As Tsuzuki looks at the box, he may suddenly notice it moves a little.] This? It's a gift for you, Tsuzuki-san.

[Wait, what ? A gift from Tatsumi ?

Asato carefully moves to the box.] What is it ?

[He smiles fondly at Tsuzuki. Yes, it is rare of him to give gifts, but... Well, Tsuzuki seemed still a bit lonely...]

It's a surprise... You'll see when you open the box...

[Yes, he is. Asato is always lonely.

The young man opens the box and a wide grin replace his hesitant expression. This is probably the cutest puppy he has ever seen.] Tatsumi- san !

[Tatsumi would like that Asato made more friends. He's a very nice puppy after all. But knows there's a lot of things about him that prevent them from being more social.

He is glad that Tsuzuki seems to be pleasantly surprised by the puppy.] I thought he could keep you company at home.

[He's trying, Tatsumi, he's trying.

Asato happily huggles the puppy and kisses its head.] Does it have name ?

I asked at the petshop, and they say he doesn't have a name yet. I thought you should have the honor...

Mm... How could we call you, little one ? [Something food related of course !]

Maybe something referring to his color? [He watches the puppy cuddling in Tsuzuki's arms.]

I think that Cinnamon woukd be cute !

Not bad, actually... [Though frankly, he'd given the dog a more intellectual name.]

Thank you ! [Yes, of course. But remember that Cinnamon's master is Asato.]

This is a wonderful gift, Tatsumi-san... [And both Asato and Cinnamon go to hug Tatsumi.]

[Of course, that's why he won't say anything about the dog's chosen name.

He's feeling pretty friendly tonight, so he hugs them both back.] You're welcome, Tsuzuki-san. I'm pleased that you like him.

[Hugs forever. And Tatsumi smells so good.]

He's just adorable ! I promise to take good care of him.

[Well, he expects you to!]

I'm sure you will, Tsuzuki-san.

You'll be proud of me ! [And yes, he kisses your cheek, Tatsumi.]

[Tatsumi actually blushes a bit at the kiss.]

I-I... [He just nods and hugs Tsuzuki a bit longer.]

[Asato finally pulls away, slightly blushing.]

Maybe that we should feed him... ?

Yes, that would be a good idea... [He undoes one of the buttons of his shirt. It's suddenly too warm...]

Cinammon is still young, so maybe some milk?

[Asato watches him do a bit longer than necessary and then turns away, a slight blush creeping onto his cheeks.]

I... Hum... I think so...

[Don't get excited Asato, it's just the first button. You can't even see his chest.]

I'll go get it. [Maybe the cold from the fridge will make him stop blushing like a teenager.]

[Yes but it is still sexy to watch.]

Alright...

[Comes back later with some milk on a plate.]

Here you go, Cinnamon.

[Asato smiles as the puppy happily starts to drink the milk.]

Do you think he can sleep in my bedroom tonight ?

[Why would Tsuzuki want that? Fortunately they have separate bedrooms.]

Just tonight. Or he'll get used to that and he won't be able to sleep anywhere else. [Gives Tsuzuki and Cinnamon one of his strict looks. He is all for proper housebreaking]

[Pets Asato. ~~Someday~~.]

By the way, the petshop owner told me we can start feeding him solid food almost immediately. He was old enough to leave his mother, after all. But he really likes milk.

Awww, ok ! Heard that, Cinnamon, you can have good meat !

[Smiles and pets Asato.]

I'm glad you're happy.

[Asato smiles back, a very soft smile.]

Thank you, Tatsumi-san. Really, thank you.

We can go back to the petshop is Cinnamon needs more things. I really just got the basics.

It's very good for now, isn't it Cinnamon ? [The puppy happily barks and Asato squishes him.]

[Smiles.]

Why don't you take him for a walk, Tsuzuki-san? Cinnamon looks really happy about getting to know you.

Oh, good idea !

[And Asato grabs the leash Tatsumi is handing him before leaving with Cinnamon. It's hard to say which one of them is the most happy about that walk.]

[Tatsumi can't help but smile gently as he sees two puppies going for a walk.]
