Hmm.

It's been almost a month, Jungo. Just a month ago, we've been dealing with... the longest week of our lives.

Hmm.
[ Gently wondering, Hiro leads as they walk through the currently cheery streets of Vatheon. As he looks up the "sky," he can't help a faint nostalgic smile. ]
It's been almost a month, Jungo. Just a month ago, we've been dealing with... the longest week of our lives.
[ A short, maybe a little too quiet laugh escapes him, then quickly turns to face his dear friend. ]
Yet, everything is so peaceful now. [ ... ] Hey, Jungo... We'll be able to bring a similar kind of peace back at home, right? Surely...

[It's strangely relaxing in this place. Jungo could almost forget that his home is in danger at the moment. Almost. But then he quickly remembers that time has technically stopped while the two of them are away.
At least there is some comfort in that.]
We definitely will, Hiro. We're really close to that goal. Once we return home, I know we can do it.
no subject
[As they're literally out of time. They have— ...must to be able to meet Polaris before Sunday passes. Indeed, there is comfort in knowing that time has stopped for them. Even while they're here.
It's the only reason why they could relax until now.]
Hey. I know that I don't get to say this a lot... [His shoulders lightly sink, keeping that very smile up.] I want to be able to express it whenever I have the chance. As you've always supported me, all this time. Even when we face doubts, you never hesitated either way... You continued to stay with me.
Jungo, thank you. I'm really happy that you're here.
no subject
[Jungo starts pulling on his hat a little while looking away. He's never had a problem thanking others over and over again. But when people do it to him, Jungo becomes strangely shy.]
If it weren't for Hiro and the others, I wouldn't be around right now.
[He stops playing with his hat as he properly faces Hiro this time.]
But... I'm happy too.
[Words sometimes do not fully express that though.
Jungo has noticed that there has been an abundance of flowers growing around the area for a while now. As they continued to walk, they continue to appear more and more.]
There are a lot of flowers here...
no subject
I told you already, though... I won't be able to do things by myself, too. That's why... I owe you and everyone the same thing.
[Hiro glances around him now, noticing it just now. It was subtle earlier, but as they go further, it's becoming very eye-catching.]
It's amazing how an underwater city exists... Even more on the fact that they can keep life flourishing down here.
no subject
[The lack of teasing is definitely appreciated. At least now, Jungo is able to smile back without feeling too embarrassed.]
Do you think we're allowed to pick them...?
[They pop up in really random places... Even sprouting out from the cracks on the floor. It really is a wonder how these plants are surviving.
There's plenty of water... sea water. Plants can't thrive off of that though.]
no subject
[Aw, the thought of Jungo holding flowers... ;u;]
Did you want to decorate our kitchen with them?
no subject
[He actually had a different idea in mind.]
Wait here for a second, okay Hiro?
[He walks off for a moment to quickly gather some of the flowers, picking a little bit of each variety.
It seemed like he's pulling out a bunch even though there's only a small handful in his fist. But that's only because a lot of the flowers end up breaking; Jungo keeps pulling a little too hard.
Several moments later, he finally returns to Hiro's side and holds the small bouquet out. His hands were dirty with pollen from the work, and some of the flowers still had a couple (or a lot) of petals missing.]
Here you go...!
no subject
[Hiro watches how Jungo works really hard to pick the flowers. Even that sight makes him smile... Everything Jungo does is always so precious. He waits patiently until Jungo returns, only to unexpectedly offer him the flowers.]
... Jungo. [Despite the beat-up state of the flowers, they still remained pretty. It's because Jungo's effort and sincere feelings are present within them. When it was offered to him, Hiro's heart immediately warms.] Thank you.
[He moves two hands to accept the bouquet, holding it close to him. Shortly after, however, he picks the nicest-looking one and separates it. Only to reach up and slide it into Jungo's hair.]
And here you are, too.
no subject
[Jungo is a little surprised to see that he's getting something in return. But he smiles a little as he hesitantly the single flower.]
Thank you, Hiro. But... are you sure about giving this one to me? It's the prettiest looking one out of the bunch.
[Jungo would accept anything from this person, good or bad. So even if Hiro offered him the flowers that were in the poorest condition, he'd happily take them too.]
no subject
[He holds up the bouquet a little, looking down unto it with a softer smile.]
Vibrant, gentle, and kind... That's you. And, no matter how many times you're stepped on, you still continue to stand and live on. Even through the harsh days of rain.
no subject
...Thank you again. I really appreciate it.
But Hiro is a lot more kind and gentle than I am. I think you just bring out the best in people.
no subject
[Hiro notices that Jungo's starting to be embarrassed, so he decides to lighten the mood. His smile furthers on, then waves a hand casually as if to wave away the shyness.]
Sounds like... a commercial line! Bring out the best in you.
no subject
[That's an opinion that Jungo does not plan on changing anytime soon.]
Or more like, you're just really understanding.
[Hiro's way of trying to lighten up the mood certainly did the trick. He laughs a little.]
...What would it be selling?
no subject
[... Eh heh. Jungo's good reaction makes him laugh along.]
Hmm. A beauty product, maybe?
no subject
Haha, it sounds really catchy. A lot of people would definitely buy it!
Even if it's a product only made for women, I'd get it.
[Then a quick realization as to how odd that sounded. Jungo quickly adds;]
....Oh, but as a gift though! I think Airi would appreciate it.
Um... It'll take a lot more than beauty products to do anything to me.
no subject
"Are you implying that I'm not looking my best?!"... He won't say that out loud, though.)]It's okay. Beauty products usually have nice bottle containers, after all... Even buying it for just a collection isn't a bad thing.
And, what are you saying? I think that you are already very good-looking, Jungo. You don't need any of it.
no subject
[Okay, now he's really pulling his hat down, enough to cover his eyes. Then Jungo turns and proceeds to walk straight ahead... only to end up walking right into a wall.
If the collision didn't look painful painful enough, Jungo falling and landing on his back might have done it...!]
no subject
[That was completely unexpected. Hiro didn't mean to tease him, too... He really meant it, after all—! Not wasiting time just staring, Hiro quickly makes his way to the boy's side, then assists him in sitting up.]
Are you all right?
no subject
[He slowly sits up straight rubbing at his face. It's a little bit red, but at least he's not bleeding. Yet.
Oh wait... here comes a nose bleed!]
I'm okay, Hiro! Don't worry about me!
[Just going to wipe the blood away with his sleeve like no big deal!]
no subject
[Before Jungo uses his own sleeve as a tissue, Hiro quickly takes Jungo's hand to halt it at the last second. He shortly lowers it before letting go, only so he could reach into his pocket.
Hiro's handkerchief is eventually taken out, which he now uses to wipe away that nose bleed gently.]
Silly, you have to be careful...
no subject
[But he winces a little as Hiro carefully wipes away the blood. But Jungo continues to remain still so the other could complete the task without problem.]
I'm fine now, Hiro. Thank you.
....But you got your handkerchief dirty because of me.
no subject
[Folding away the handkerchief, he keeps the clean side outside, so that it's safe to keep it in his pocket until they get home.]
Jungo, take care of yourself, okay? No one would want your attractive face to be scratched.
no subject
[Oh, he's turning red again when Hiro calls his face "attractive".]
Hiro, please...
[Jungo might end up walking into another wall again because of you :c]
I'll try to be more careful next time.
no subject
[As Hiro is sincere with that compliment, he won't take anything back. He does, however, feel sorry for Jungo's reaction. This boy is just too shy.]
As long as you keep your words then, I won't have to worry so much.
no subject
[He slowly and carefully gets off the floor, and at that moment, he notices the crushed flower. Jungo must have dropped it when he accidentally collided into the wall and then fall on top of it. ]
...Oh... I ruined it.
[Jungo carefully scoops the broken flower off of the floor.]
...Mmm, I'm sorry Hiro...
no subject
It's okay, Jungo. It's as I've said... Even after being stepped on, flowers will continue to stand. They will come back one day, to bloom even prettier than before.
Flowers are indeed beautiful. But, it is not them who think so. It is those who see them.
[That's why... Even if Jungo doesn't think that of himself, there will be someone out there who will think exactly that.]
no subject
[His cheeks couldn't possibly get anymore redder than they are now. But rather than hide his face like earlier before, Jungo looks directly at Hiro for a long moment.
Then a small smile graces his lips as his gaze drifts towards the direction the wind had blown the pollen earlier.]
Mmm, thank you. [Even though he still feels unsure but,] Hearing that from you makes me feel really happy.
no subject
[A lot of people are selfish, after all. But, Jungo has that childish innocence that is definitely hard to find... Especially from someone at his age.]
I'm happy that we met. I'm glad that we got to fight together. Even if I'm a mere civilian, you and the others still treated me well, believing in me as you all had.
no subject
[But being too naive can be trouble on the battlefield right?]
Hiro was the one that called me a friend first.
[He smiles happily at that memory.]
Those words saved me at that moment. And then you and the others saved me once again only hours later.
There's also the time with Jungo too. Hiro has done a lot for me so... I really want to return all of that to the fullest.
no subject
[The two of them who just wants the best for their dear friends. It's no doubt now that they'll continue doing their best, supporting each other as they always had. The thought alone softens Hiro's expression.]
It's not so bad, being here. We have assurance that everyone is still safe, even if we still can't find a way back. But, most of all... Being here, I got to learn more about you and Juneko. I'm thankful for this chance.
I wish that the others are here, too. But, that might be too selfish to wish for...
no subject
[Because honestly, Jungo also feels the same way too.]
It's a lot more peaceful here. And yes, I'm happy that we get to spend a lot of time with you too, Hiro. It won't be like this forever, but I'll always cherish everything!
no subject
[To find a way back, together with their new friends in this world.]
no subject
Mmm, I'll support you to the best of my ability.
But before that, we have to keep our strengths up right? Let's have chawanmushi together, okay Hiro?
[What better way than to eat a nicely cooked meal like chawanmushi?
He smiles grows wider as he gently pulls on Hiro's sleeve to lead the both of them home.]
