If they ever do my life story, whoever plays me needs lots of hair color and high heels
Who: Cielo and the lovely residents of
vatheon!
Where: Plaza
When: ALL DAY
Style: This is too silly to be anything but Action
Status: SO OPEN
[Sometimes you just feel lazy. And today, Cielo decided he was going to be lazy. Lazy meant that he slept in an extra hour. Lazy meant that he wasn't going to do any of his (completely unnecessary) patrols of the area around the Embryon base. Lazy meant that he wasn't going to bother braiding his hair today. He kind of looks like a girl like this.
What lazy doesn't mean is that he's going to do nothing, however. He's in Vatheon's plaza right now - new shops and restaurants are opening up all the time and he wants to visit them.]

Ja. It's just for today though.

[Well, she'd assumed as much...
A-Anyway, she's sort of adjusting to the new look, so it's becoming not quite so stare-worthy. Which is probably a good thing.]
It can't be easy to make it look like that all the time, I guess.
no subject
Oh, I don't do anything special. It usually turns out like this on its own.
[It's naturally fabulous.]

She hadn't really been clear. She meant that it can't be easy to dreadlock it all the time, and that it doesn't surprise her he'd want something different every once in a while--different and easier.
Lol but she gets the feeling trying to correct herself will just result in more confusion so yeah. She's just nodding. Because it is pretty fabulous, yes.]
...How long does it take to braid it?
no subject
[Good thing he goes for large braids - otherwise it would take forever.]
Faster if I can get Serph to do it for me.
[If Argilla and Sera were here, he'd ask them too. He doesn't even try asking Gale.]
no subject
...She spends that long on her hair sometimes, if she's feeling particularly indecisive. It's amazing to meet a guy who spends just as long on it.]
Cool. So guys braid each others' hair, too, huh...
[She looks so amused at the thought, and the mental image.
She's also reaching to feel your hair, Cielo, feel free to bat her hand away if you don't want that.]
no subject
Is there any reason guys shouldn't?
[He's genuinely curious. He can't think of any reason other than most guys have shorter hair than he does.]
no subject
[She can't really think of any reasons either, if a guy's hair is long enough. In Japanese schools, though, they wouldn't really allow for that, so in a way, the issue hadn't really come up.
She kind of shrugs, and after stroking his hair a few times, allows her hand to fall back down to her side.]
It just might get you some funny looks, where I'm from. But then again, most guys don't grow out their hair long enough.
no subject
I'm used to funny looks, so that's okay.

...Sometimes she wonders herself why society cares so much about things like that; about appearances, about the superficial. But she supposes people have just come to expect certain things from people.
And she doesn't like to disappoint.]
You do stand out a little, don't you?
[She just laughs a bit teasingly. Her tone suggests she doesn't really mind it in the slightest. Makes him easy to find!]
no subject
[He's aware that even in a place where a large part of the population is made up of people that come from different worlds, he sticks out.]
I guess for a while, even back in the Junkyard we were a bit weird to everyone.
no subject
[She lets that sink in for a moment, laughter fading. She doesn't think standing out is a bad thing, necessarily, but--]
How so...? I get the feeling you mean more than just your appearance.
[She wonders.]
no subject
[You know what was weird in the Junkyard? Black hair. Seriously, it was the weirdest thing coming to Vatheon and seeing a bunch of people with black hair.]
Being comrades, caring about each other, making friends outside the Tribe. That was something people didn't do.
no subject
She has to tilt her head a bit though at what he says, looking a bit surprised.]
But...why not?
[She doesn't see what is so taboo about this--but then again, come to think of it, she doesn't know a whole lot about their world in the first place.
...She just knows it's not...exactly pleasant.]
no subject
[Neither Mick nor Varin Omega cared for their Tribes, and this lack of concern trickled down to their underlings who followed their leaders either out of obligation or fear.]
Others, they just hadn't thought about it. For years, it was your fellow Tribe members were your allies and everybody else was an enemy and that was it. Nobody understood what being friends or comrades was until they learned about it, and that includes me and Serph and Gale.
no subject
But this is a pretty good opportunity that's presented itself.]
That seems so...lonely.
[As she attempts to gather her thoughts, images from the long nights she spent without her father appear in her head. Hoping all the time that maybe tonight would be the night when he'd return...
It's hardly the same, but to her, the feeling is kind of similar. Especially since she'd gotten so good at shutting everyone out after she'd lost him...
Everyone but Minato.]
no subject
[Not until Atma. Not until their demons.]
Looking back on it now, it seems so weird, ja? That I spent five years like that.
no subject
[She frowns. Loneliness is bad enough, but not understanding what it is on top of that is...
It just seems needlessly frustrating and cruel.]
If you weren't the one telling me, I might not even believe it.
[That, and, being trapped in a magical city with people from all kinds of worlds probably helped open her mind some.
Buuut still.]
no subject
So why was his world so different?]
I often wonder why. Somebody was in charge of the world and they purposefully made it like that.
[He's seen people affect it. Sera held power over all the inhabitants and there were ties linking her to the world itself all over the place, but Cielo doesn't believe that she's the one who made the Junkyard the way it was. Sera cared about them and she would never do that. Angel, maybe? He could believe Angel had something to do with it.]
If I ever go back, I want to find out who and why.
1/2
He has a reason to go home, huh...but what's her reason? What's her motivation for going home, when the time comes? Vatheon has a beautiful beach. Vatheon has free stuff and everything you could need.
And while Vatheon is missing a great deal of her friends, it has Minato...]

She has to nod, though, admiring his determination. She thinks of when they were first starting out on their journey, trying to find out what was behind the Dark Hour, behind Tartarus...
And why.]
I hope you do. And maybe if we find a way...
You can tell me.
[She'd like to know, too. And she'd like to listen.]
no subject
[Never mind that he has no idea how he would let her know. But he would find a way.]
no subject
[That's pretty much all the reassurance she needs, since she believes that they'll definitely be able to manage something.
They don't have to worry about that now, though, so she laughs a bit to lighten the mood.]
So, where are you headed today, if not to a hair salon?

I haven't heard about any new shops, but I'll have to check 'em out, too. I'm just out picking up some groceries for the dorm.
