It's that time again~
Who: Villa Residents and visitors!
What: Second verse, same as the first? Actually it's more like the tenth time now
When: Any time during the week
Where: Da Villa
Style: Whatever you want!
[The house is repaired, the flood damage is gone, Maka and Kid are back and the house seems to be in good spirits this month!
So, with curse shenanigans in full swing, house-mingle away!]

[All at once, there's the hollow clunk of a small metal wastebin dropped onto the floor beside Rin and the table littered with crumpled wads of paper.
With one gesture, a black-sleeved arm sweeps the offending clutter off the edge and into the trash receptacle.]
...That's better.
[Now that the immediate issue is dealt with, Kid can indulge his curiosity, pulling one of the scraps back out of the wastebin and attempting to flatten it out so he can read the scribbles there. That proves to be a useless effort.]
What are you doing?
no subject
... oh. Sorry.
[Even if it were legible (which it barely is), Rin still writes almost exclusively in hiragana. Good luck figuring that out, Kid.]
Uhm. Tryin' to figure out how to teach a buncha people how to cook...

[Kid's golden eyes dart across the crinkled page, trying to make sense of the foreign squiggles and marks until his vision begins to swim. It's just beginning to give him a queasy stomach when he finally lets it drop back into the wastebin.
Well then. He's decided that he's not very fond of hiragana.]
Teaching others is quite a noble profession, and I have the utmost confidence in your culinary skills. So what is the difficulty?
no subject
Yeah but teachin' is more Dad and Yukio's thing, and I've never even tried before. Plus everythin' I know in the kitchen I taught myself. That ain't the same as teachin' some one else.
[He ruffles his hair again, making it even more messy than it already was]
There's like... actual steps involved, and I've never written a lesson plan in my life. I'unno, is it really a good idea for an almost-middle school drop out to be teachin' anyone?

Creative solutions exist that fit no previously established curriculae. [And, realizing that word might be a bit beyond Rin's ken:] It doesn't have to fit neatly into what's been established by the people who came before you.
If you enjoy giving some of what you know to other people, then you're already halfway there.
[Now he's just going to... reach out. And try to comb down that hair with his fingers.]
You probably started with simple recipes, didn't you? Try doing this at your pace.

[Rin doesn't protest the preening, as always, and merely looks back at the notepad and his scribbles, tapping the end of the pen on the paper rhythmically.]
I've run in to a few people here who don't really know how to cook and they wanna learn. I got a lotta interest when I asked on the network. And they always said Dad was such a great teacher and I wanna be like him...
'course that's exorcism and not cookin' but I guess the feeling is the same or somethin'... ?
[He smiles faintly, glancing up at Kid with his chin resting lightly on his upturned hand.]
I like makin' people happy with what I do and I hope others can pick up on that, y'know?

I'm sure it's close enough that the specifics hardly matter. It's a splendid idea.
[Close enough to be similar, and we all know how fond of similarities Kid is.]
Although I would gladly offer to help, I'm afraid I'd only get in the way. [Besides, there are other, significant reasons to keep Kid away from the kitchen.] Perhaps I can help clean up after.
no subject
Heh. That's true. You're right 'bout that...
[Twirling the pen in his fingers, he gave some thought to what Kid had offered.]
I'd like that, actually. Take a lotta weight off my shoulders to get things done. I think I might need some clean up in between things, too, durin' the later classes.

[There's only one real reason for Kid to be so cheerful at the prospect, at least, that particular enthusiasm sparkling through the reaper's usual attempts at appearing dignified -- but they know about his whole fixation on order anyway.
He's been given permission to clean, enough said.]
no subject
Rin can't help but grin back at that suddenly infectious cheerfulness.]
Thanks, Kid...
