[ It hadn't really been sneaking out, but Duke hadn't really told anyone in the house where he'd gone anyway.

He just kinda wanted to be outside for a while, so he's out by the coral and .... blankly study the bubble and everything about.

Duke may seem down, which isn't particularly unusual, but he may seem... more down than usual. Guess who didn't really overcome that curse? ]

[ ... huh. That Duke over there by the coral? Yuri pauses, idly looking over in the white-haired man's direction.

... something about him seems more off than usual, somehow. With a shrug, he finds himself wandering over towards Duke, seating himself next to him. ]

Hey. You look like you could use someone to talk to.

Does Duke really ever want to talk to someone? This may be read in the way he hunches his shoulders up and studies the ground away from Yuri. ]

[ Yeah, Duke's still the same as ever, it seems. Yuri sighs, shrugging it off.

It doesn't really seem like he's going anywhere, though... ]

[ Yep. Duke is totally absolutely his normal self. Really. There's no obvious signs he hasn't been sleeping well, or rarely eating often. Honestly.

Although he'll give Yuri a stare of 'why are you still sitting here' after a moment or two of silence. ]

[ Yuri was lucky enough to somehow avoid the curse, but seeing as how most of the people he knows wasn't been able to dodge it so well...

... yeah, he's worried. Even if his expression doesn't show it right now. ]

[ Well, maybe his worries are completely well founded.

This is a cross between a flinch and a wince, and Duke is back to staring at the ground. ]

[ Yuri frowns, pausing a little as he studies the man. For being so silent, Duke was more mysterious to understand, but... somehow, he seemed more troubled than usual, if that made sense. ]

... I know we don't really talk much, but... I can help, if you want me to.

Possibly. Out of all the people here, Duke probably trusts Yuri a fair deal more than the rest. Zelda was pretty close, but he still doesn't quite feel like she completely understands what he tried to do. But.. Yuri did.

So its some silent thinking and then he'll turn partially toward him. ]

... Aware... of who would be considered most important to me?

[ Yuri pauses quietly, closing his eyes and recalling what Khroma told them about Elucifur. How Duke lost faith in humans after he'd died. What led up to the events that Yuri himself now remembers too well. ]

So it was related to Elucifur, I take it...

[ There's no malice in his tone here, just some pity and sympathy. He wouldn't lie, if Flynn or Estelle or... anyone else he knew was killed like that, Yuri was pretty sure he'd have gotten revenge by any means necessary.

Even if it meant becoming the monster he so hated. ]

.... Aware of what curse this week created? [ Its a little pained sounding. Obviously Duke is trying to keep most of it out of his voice, but... Its fairly deep pain. ]

[ Yuri pauses, sighing quietly as he looks at Duke. ]

... I doubt he blamed you for anything that happened, though. If anything, I admit we've done dickish things, yeah.

.... Hard to believe, when things said match what already thing. [ He's fairly sure that yes, the curse had just been using Elucifur with his thoughts, not Elucifur's...

But.... It still hurts more that way. ]

[ Probably because they're people. And... that might be a good point. Elucifur would probably think he was being a little silly, still thinking on this for so long.

... But it was hard to not think about it...

And the topic is really uncomfortable, likely precisely because of the trouble he has breaking the cycle of those thoughts. ]

Niren Fedrok. He was like a father figure to me before he was killed. All because of... what, blastia?

Killing the one responsible didn't really help a lot in the long run, either...
