11 ♐ Patience, n. A minor form of dispair, disguised as a virtue
Who: Darkleer and anyone/everyone
When: Saturday, starting in the morning and lasting far into the night
Where: The plaza
Style: Any, will follow
Status: Open
He wakes up that morning feeling... calm, in a way. No, calm isn't the word. Darkleer isn't quite sure what his feelings are doing, but it isn't something objectionable. It's almost hardly noticeable as he goes about a regular morning minus two adolescent highbloods. And at some point, he finds himself needing to leave the hive on some minor errand, something he could do at a later time but he simply decides to get it out of the way sooner. It brings him towards the area of the plaza...
And in the plaza, by the sprawling mass of the coral Lamufao, he pauses.
In his memories, he recalls someone who would lazily sprawl against him and drawl out things to tease him. He remembers a warm shoulder beneath his palm who'd lean against him now and then. Darkleer remembers other people, people who have never been here but he thinks maybe there's a slim chance they could be...
Deciding that his errand can wait for now- it isn't going anywhere, Darkleer knows- he goes over to one of the benches in the center of the plaza and takes a seat.
That's where he stays the entire day, and well into the night, just watching and waiting. He has a very long life, after all.
A long life and so much patience.

Darkleer? Are you okay?
no subject
Hm? Oh, hello... Sola. [Did he get that right?] I'm perfectly fine. I'm simply waiting.
no subject
[Inquisitive Hylian is inquisitive~]
no subject
[It's said just very calmly, like it isn't kind of pathetic.]
no subject
Without a word, Sola climbs onto the bench next to Darkleer and sits.]
no subject
Are you sure you don't have other things to do?
[He could have swore he saw the other passing by before...]
no subject
[He kind of has a ton of them. After his initial buying spree of every item in the Hyrule shop all he really gets anymore is Lon Lon Milk and his errand business keeps him much busier than that.
He'd rather wait here in case his Trolldads do come back.]
no subject
[He can understand that. Darkleer doesn't say anything else. He simply shifts his hand until its on the bench between the two of them, and keeps his palm up. It's a silent offer if Sola wants to take it.]
no subject
Sola takes Darkleer's hand, curling his smaller fingers into the much larger palm.
And waits.]
no subject
Toward the early evening, when he's decided to turn in, he finally hovers on over to Darkleer. He's curious, and perhaps even a little concerned. He keeps his tone affable and light.]
You waiting for something, dude?
no subject
That's right.
no subject
Uh, what is it? I've been here and there but noticed that you've only been here. Maybe I can help.
no subject
Besides, I'm not sure how much you could help.
[After all, the only individuals capable of pulling in other people into Vatheon would be the scientists, and possibly the coral. This place does well to limit the powers of anyone else.]
no subject
It's pretty late, and I'm not busy anymore. Unless . . . it's a person you're waiting for?
no subject
[He shifts a bit, just to stave off the ache in his muscles for a bit longer.]
They haven't shown up yet, but I suppose I simply have to wait longer.
no subject
You mean people not in Vatheon? In that case, it doesn't hurt to head in and rest for tomorrow. That, and you can always check the SFC for new names!
no subject
[There's no point in denying it.]
I could do that. However, the hive is rather empty because the boys had an argument, and I haven't been sleeping as well as I should be. [His shoulders roll in a slow shrug.] I have nothing but time.
no subject
Shouldn't you be relaxing and getting some rest, then? You're not going to camp out on this bench waiting, are you?
no subject
[His sleeping habits, particularly as of late, have not been the best.]
If I'm ever needing of it, I can always use the coral to help avoid sleep.
no subject
That's true . . .
Hey, mind describing to me at least the guys you're expecting? I'm not sure how much I can be of help when you're gonna be on the watch all day, but I may as well try.
no subject
[At the suggestion, however, he pauses, clearly thinking it over.]
There's quite a few.
no subject
You've got time, and I've got time before I head back in. You don't have to explain them all if you don't want to -- even one will do!
no subject
[It would be a very noble and pious sort of thing, he supposes, to have to agonize over who to pick and choose from. But he already knows.]
He's a troll, like myself- gray skin, horns, fangs. He has two pairs of horns, however, simple points. One eye is completely blue, the other red. He will probably have a pair of protruding fangs which give him a lisp when he speaks. Depending on where he is on the timeline, he's likely not to be very well fed and thus very skinny. His name is Psiioniic.
no subject
Psiioniic, huh? Gotcha; I'll keep an eye out for him! By the way, what's your name? And what's a troll, exactly?
no subject
[Then that makes things easier. Darkleer feels a bit more at ease.]
You may call me Darkleer. I am a troll, as was Psiioniic. It is a race of gray-skinned individuals with horns, often varying with the individual.
no subject
And I'm Kurow. I've never heard of trolls like you before, but I've seen a couple guys like you before here. Guess Vatheon really does bring all kinds.

Statistically, there is pretty much no way that this isn't true. Roxy does plenty of things, but Dirk is fairly certain that she wouldn't let anyone into his room while he was asleep. And there's certainly no way that she would let harm come to the glasses that are essentially a gift from his brother/ancestor.
Normally, he'd just stay inside and pester Roxy continuously to get them back, but he just spent four days asleep and even the idea of it is making him twitchy. He needs to do things. So the first thing he's doing is finding some replacements, for the time being. Maybe he'll grab some aviators.
He's just passing through the plaza sometime in the early afternoon on his way to the shops. This kind of errand isn't normally one he'd pause on, but he catches sight of Darkleer, and he has to marvel for a moment. Sometimes, text and video can't do a person justice, and this is one of those times.
He's uncomfortable without the eyewear, but Equius and Darkleer both seem to wear glasses just as much as him. He'll probably understand.
"Sup?"
no subject
He's more than aware of Dirk approaching, and he gives a small nod to him. He seems rather calm, more than usual. "Good afternoon. Are you out on an errand?"
no subject
no subject
"I'm just waiting. I only had a few things on my metaphorical plate, but they can be pushed back for another day."
no subject
"Waiting for what?"
no subject
"For individuals to come back, or to arrive."
no subject
In the back of his head, Dirk is considering the statistics for it already. The numerous connections between people here versus the millions of people in some worlds, and the multitude of worlds represented... it's an interesting set of statistics.
