[Well, he doesn't want to leave the house, but it's better than having to deal with Demyx and his Other's bonding time today. So Axel takes this as an opportunity to wander about find more interesting things in this underwater bubble, starting with the forest that Demyx recommended he go to.

He isn't alone in this trip, however, because, just as Demyx also offered, a bouncy blue Vaporeon is following at his side, her tail swishing back and forth. Occasionally he looks down to check and make sure that she won't, you know, bite or anything, and once they reach the springs he nods at her to which she walks over to leap into the hot water.]

Hm. Cute.

[With a sigh Axel plops down on the edge of one of the springs and feels the heat coming off of the rocks rejuvenate his body and rekindle his inner fire a bit. The water may be hot, but it's still water...so he's not very comfortable going in it. Or taking off his clothes in public. If anyone passes by at all they'll also see his thought bubble floating around his head, displaying convoluted moving pictures of sunsets and a large heart shaped moon rising over the horizon. Occasionally he'll think of Lea's face, too, and he'll see him cuddling up to Demyx or something...and that just makes the images turn to red and fade away.]

Vapo! Vapo!

Mm? No, I'm not coming in. [...But Vaporeon swishes her tail and splashes him anyway. In the water. Now. B|] Hey!

*Selphie was just trying to think of places where she could go with her bubble that would be safe. The hotsprings was one place that she hadn't actually ever been to, so no one would think to find her there, surely. She walks her way towards it, her bubble a neutral colour, reflecting the scenery around them as she enjoys it.

But then she stops dead still as she sees Axel, and a serious of quick images move through her bubble - her and Axel sparring, sharing icecream, talking, riding chocobos, at a fancy restuarant, all sorts. This isn't the same Axel, or it is, but it's not the one that was here before... He hadn't seemed to remember her, because he hadn't been in touch since being here. And Selphie was doing her best to deal with that, but here he was*

((ooc: whoa, sorry about all that! Selphie and the Axel that was here before were really close, went on a date(ish) or two and stuff, and she's all OMGMYFRIEND at seeing him))

[Axel heats himself up a bit to make the water on his coat and in his hair steam off before it becomes too cold but even after that Athena still swishes her tail and splashes him.

He sighs. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to bring her along after all.

By the time he's dried himself off a second time he hears some footsteps coming up from behind and slowly looks up, a bit shocked that someone else is even here. And here he thought that this would be fairly secluded.]

Uh--

[He'll just be staring at you for a few beats, Selphie. His thought bubble meanwhile shows nothing but a couple of whisps and question marks, showing that he obviously doesn't remember her.]

((OOC: No worries! I actually never knew about any past CR between the two, so this is definitely interesting.))

*Selphie watches, thoroughly amused that Axel seems to have a pet. It was quite cute, and she couldn't help but giggle. But of course, then she was noticed, and she blushes instantly*

Oh! Hi...

*She's trying so hard to act like she had never known an Axel, so she stares at the pokemon thing, willing that that's the only image in her bubble. But her thoughts turn to Axel again, and bubble-Vaporeon suddenly has Axel hair*

Vapo!

[Athena wades over to the edge of the hot spring to watch Selphie and then both she and Axel sort of stare at the strange image projected on her thought bubble. Axel's bubble, to match, reflects the Vathoreon with Selphie's hair.]

...Hey. [Pause]

Have we met?

*Oops, Selphie can't help but giggle at that - too cute! But then she smiles gently*

...Uh, yeah. I guess. But, looks like you don't remember...

[Axel shakes his head 'no' and then looks over to Athena to see if she recognizes the girl.]

My memory's different.

[Awkwardly, he rubs the back of his neck.]

Sorry.

*Selphie blinks, the epic disappointment on her face for only the briefest moment before she bursts into laughter*

Sorry... it's just funny! To think you were always the one to tell me to 'get it memorised'!

[Blink blink]

Funny? [Oh--That? He awkwardly laughs a little now.] It's not my fault I forgot, you know.

Maybe you're just not that memorable.

[He's kidding, though.]

*Oh, but that's so much not a funny thing to say. Selphie has issues with her memories... and of other people remembering her. Her face falls, and her bubble clouds over blue*

Yeah... I know it's not your fault...

[He notes the change of color in her bubble and blinks, his own bubble once again filling with question marks.]

Uh...so--

Vapo? Vapo, Vapo!

[Athena splashes a little more water Axel's way to which he grumbles and stands up, his hair now wet on one side.]

*Selphie might have been about to say something, but she's distracted by the animal splashing Axel. Sorry, but she can't help but giggle, moving forward to approach his pet*

Hey.. who's this cutie?

[He squeezes out some of the excess water when she approaches and Athena stares at her curiously as she continues wading along in the hot spring.]

She's Demyx's pet. Name's Athena.

Demyx's pet? *Selphie couldn't help but laugh at that, a vision of mermaid Demyx in her bubble* That totally makes sense!

*She approaches the edge of the hot springs and kicks off her boots, before sitting at the side, her legs dangling into the water*

Hi Athena! Wow, this is nice!

[Axel crosses his arms as he looks down to watch the two of them bond. Athena swims up to Selphie and makes more of her cute little sounds (I know, isn't water the best thing ever.) before she swims back to make a lap around the spring.

He sighs.]

So you're one of Demyx's friends too?

*Selphie reaches forward, more than happy to humour the pokemon, and she smiles to watch her to some swimming. It's very tempting to jump in, all the same, and Selphie's bubble shows her jumping in*

Uh huh. He does have a lot of friends!

It's crazy.

[He always knew that Demyx was the social type, but not that social. He watches Athena swim about a little more before he sits down next to her on the rocks and stares down at the steaming water.]

Were you gonna go in?

[Her bubble seems to show that she wants to.]

*Selphie smiles brightly and turns to Axel as he sits next to her, her eyes seemingly quite excited*

It does look really good in there, doesn't it?

[Excited? Well, that's interesting. He shrugs and leans back on his hands.]

Then go in. No one's stopping you, right?

*She glances down at her dress, and then at the water*

But my clothes will get all wet!

[Axel waves his hand in the air.]

Ah, what's a little water gonna do to a couple pairs of clothes, huh?

*Selphie giggles and tilts her head towards him. It felt nice being with Axel again, even if he didn't remember him*

Alright then!

*She stands to her feet before swinging her arms and just dropping herself into the water with a splash*

[Buh--He hadn't thought that she'd take him seriously.

Axel just stands off to the side, however, to avoid being splashed too much with water, and when Athena sees Selphie jump in she swims right up and circles around her, excited.]

Vapo!

Geez. You actually did it.

*Selphie dunks beneath the water and splashes up to the surface, happily paddling with Athena*

Sure I did! It's just water, right? Now it's your turn!

*She giggles and takes a mouthful of water before squirting it in a little fountain*

[Athena seems thoroughly amused by this girl and paddles alongside her. Axel, on the other hand, stays right where he is.]

Nah, water's not my thing.

[Even if it's hot, it's still water, and he doesn't like it.]
