Who: The Okumura twins
When: Late, late night, July 24th
Where: Da Villa
Style: action
Status: Closed
[Some time, hours after a certain post of evil plottings, a certain half-demon was finally released from Marceline's "clutches" and was able to return home. But of course this was after several people already attempted to rescue the supposed captives from the Vampire Queen, and Rin figured there would be a few of them wouldn't be too happy that the whole thing had been fake from the start.
So he was attempting to sneak back in as quietly as he could, but Rin was not exactly the stealthy type, and chances were some one was going to catch him...]

The entire display had been just that. A bullshit display that Rin had been in on.
So he decided to head back to the Villa and wait. Rin was sure to turn up sooner or later, so it wasn't terribly surprising to see that familiar outline scramble in through the window.]
Niisan.
[Yukio's voice came from where he was seated across the room, legs and arms crossed and his glasses glinting menacingly in the low light.]
no subject
[Rin had thought he was being crafty by coming through a window, but that craftiness and any sense of agility went right back out that window at the sound of Yukio's voice.
His startled cry was followed by a thud as he fell in to the living room with all the grace of a wounded pelican.]
Ooow... m'tail...
no subject
He remained in his chair, clearing his throat over Rin's pained noises. No pity.]
You don't look very kidnapped.
no subject
Nng--...
[Rin sits up, rubbing his sore lower back while finally looking at his brother. The 'concerned parent waiting up in the dark' thing just earns a scowl right back.]
... guess not.
no subject
What were you thinking?
no subject
[Though if Yukio is this pissed off already, Rin has a feeling he's already... "spoken" to the self proclaimed Vampire Queen.]
She won a day with me fair and square, no one ever gave her any rules on how she had to spend that day. Seriously, why you always gotta break my balls over shit that goes down, I'm not responsible for everything that goes wrong ever!
no subject
Maybe not, but you are responsible for your own lack of action. Some of us aren't familiar with Marceline. Some of us might see you and others in danger and assume that the situation was actually something serious rather than some big joke.
no subject
Uh. That was the point bro. She said 'act helpless', that's what we did. I keep tellin' ya it was her show but like always you can't let my voice get any further than what you wanna hear.
I swear it's like I could say the sky was blue and you'd have to check just to make sure I wasn't lyin' to you because you can't trust me no matter what I do!
[Rin finally got up off the floor and dusted his pants off with a huffy, irritated sigh.]
Is this all you wanted to bitch at me about?
no subject
You want me to trust you? How am I supposed to trust you when you're so consistently thoughtless where the thoughts and worries of others are concerned?
[Translation: You made me worry about you and now I feel like an idiot for making a big deal out of nothing.]
no subject
[It was probably going to be something he would regret, but Rin stormed up to his brother at that, a faint growl escaping between clenched teeth.]
I do care, more than you know. And I am so fuckin' sorry Marcy knocked you around, but don't you dare tell me that I don't care about others.
no subject
Then I suppose it's just the trouble you cause me that doesn't matter.
no subject
no subject
[Yukio, what even-?]
Why can't you just think?!
no subject
Because it's not all about you!
no subject
no subject
No it's not! You're the only one who sees it that way! YOU! No one else!
no subject
Because they have no idea what's really going on!
SUDDENLY
So, ever so calmly, Shiro opens the door to his room and walks out into the living room. Then, before the two boys can protest, he grabs both of them by the collars of their shirts. Finally, to finish off the moment of interrupting dad, he drags them out into the backyard and dumps them into the pond.
This is where he waits, since he wants to make sure they've cooled off a bit and are listening before he reads them the riot act.]
no subject
At least until he was grabbed by his collar and hauled outside. He let out a choked-surprised yelp and stumbled before getting shoved in to the pond, going down face first and coming up with curls of steam rising from him.
Sputtering, soaking wet, he coughed a few times before looking at Yukio and managing to say in a much calmer, quieter voice:]
They do know... you'd know that too, if you'd bother to ask. 'cause I'm actually honest with the people I care about.
The only thing I don't know is why you hate me so god damn much...
no subject
He squinted up at Shiro through his wet glasses, then looked to Rin beside him, and then back again. Their relocation and the shock of the cold water was enough to snap him out of the angry haze he'd so easily slipped into. He'd never intended for the argument to go so far, but Rin's antics piled on top of everything else...]
I...
[Shit.]
no subject
[Since Rin decided to keep talking after he got dumped in the pond, he'll get his lecture first.]
I don't care what you think about how you can handle yourself and take care of your own things. Yes, you're grown, and yes, that means you get to make your own decisions, but you have to recognize that your choices aren't made in a vacuum. The things you choose to do with your life affect the people around you.
You are lucky enough to have several loved ones who would give up their lives to protect you. What if this had all gotten out of hand, and someone had gotten hurt? Or worse, what if someone had been killed because we thought you were legitimately in trouble? How do you think Yukio would have felt if he had harmed an innocent person because of one of your boneheaded decisions? How would you have felt?
no subject
[but for once, Rin actually shut up. His mouth shut with an audible snap so hard that his jaw hurt from it. He glared at both of them, shoulders hunched and shaking, sopping wet tail lashing slowly but angrily for a few more seconds as Shiro tore in to him verbally.
As much as he wanted to argue that it really was Marceline's idea from beginning to end, he knew Shiro was right - all he had done was warn the vampire that Yukio was a tough fight, he had never once even gone to the trouble of telling Yukio himself that it was a ruse and nothing more.
And some one really could have gotten hurt. Both of them could have. And Rin would have made himself sick with guilt if that had happened.]
I... woulda hated myself... if that happened just 'cause I didn't stop it from gettin' outta hand...
no subject
The young exorcist just sat quietly in the water, eyes on his knees as he waited for what would surely be a lecture of his own.]
no subject
But Yukio isn't completely blameless here, so he gets a lecture too, though Shiro might not be yelling as much as he had been with Rin.]
And you. You know better than to jump to conclusions like this. Haven't I taught you to read between the lines in any situation? You should have been warned ahead of time, yes, but even without a warning there were ways to peacefully end all of this.
And furthermore, yelling at your brother after the fact isn't going to help if you're not saying something helpful. You have quite a temper on you too, and if you can't control it then you can't even hope to be able to slap some sense into Rin. And you certainly shouldn't start a fight in the middle of the night in a house full of people trying to sleep.
no subject
But this time, all he could feel was guilt, and hearing Shiro's words made him realize that it wasn't just Yukio who was being difficult - he wasn't exactly listening to what his brother was trying to say, either.
He stayed quiet, head hung with a mess of blue-black hair dripping water down his face.]
no subject
... Like Rin.]
I'm sorry, Otousan.
no subject
[It's good that they both understand that they fucked up and they both have behaviors they need to change. Shiro doesn't want to waste his time yelling at them for nothing, he wants to see them grow up. It's not like he has a lot of time to inspire change in them.]
Now, I want both of you to hug and apologize to each other.
no subject
And he was tired, achy, soaking wet and was going to have to deal with a pissed off house as soon as he got back inside.
The sooner they got this over with the better.
Huffing, he pulled in a breath and shifted so he could actually look at Yukio.]
Sorry, bro.
[And he actually meant it, short and sweet as it was.
Sorry, Yukio, you're going to have to deal with a sopping wet Rin hug.]
no subject
... Sorry.
[And he meant it. In some way. There were still plenty of unresolved... issues, but they didn't need to be dealt with tonight.
Or ever, if Yukio got any say.]
no subject
Alright then, let's get you two out of there and into some dry clothes. It's late, and you need some sleep.
[And he'll hold out his hands to help them up, one extended towards each of the boys. He can help them both up at the same time he's totally strong enough, as long as they're trying to get up too.]
no subject
After it was done, Rin went to take Shiro's hand...
and yanked him right down in to the pond with them.]
no subject
Niisan!
no subject
But he pulls himself up pretty quickly, coughing and making a face as he looks down at his clothes and sees how sopping wet he is.]
Rin!
no subject
[Then why are you grinning like that, Rin?]
no subject
Glaring at you, Rin. Glaring so much.]
