Who: Saber and Rarity. (Closed.)
When: Now.~
Where: Middle district.
Style: Prose.
Saber had decided that morning that she wanted something more casual to wear, but she hadn't expected that after several hours.. she would find nothing to her taste. It was all too colorful, or too showy, or not formal enough and..
The King of Knights raised an armored hand over her mouth as she frowned heavily into it. She was standing outside, in front of the window of the current clothing store she was investigating.
This was frustrating. What was even more frustrating about it was that the knight knew this was supposed to be a simple task, and she was having so much difficulty with it. The experience she had with such things was her fault, Saber acknowledged. Her clothing had always been picked and tailored to her by others.

Trotting along, Rarity turned a corner and began to head down the street to check out some of the shops--maybe one of them would have fabrics and supplies she could gather for her future work--and when she happened upon the clothing store she paused, backed up a bit, and eyed some of the designs from the window.
She sighed. "Oh, no, no, no. The colors are all wrong," she began. "And the stitching is a tad bit off, if I must say..." Don't mind her, Saber. She was just awfully picky about her fashion.

Well done, Vatheon. You have finally given me something to feel truly flabbergasted over.
The knight remains quiet for a few more moments, and then pulls herself together with a quick shrug of her shoulders.
"Excuse me?" she asks, turning to look at the pony who is critiquing the clothes through the window. "Do you have experience with clothing?"

Glancing back at the shop window, she shakes her head. "Which is why I find these ensembles mediocre at best. The flaws are so clear as day! Ooh, it makes me want to pin and hem just about everything! Do you know what I mean?"
no subject
"Ah.. would you be able to help me then?" Saber asks, biting her bottom lip as she does. This is, really, almost embarrassing, but-
"I am kind of out of my league with this area of expertise, and- Forgive me. I'm called Saber," she adds on, bowing her shoulders and head politely.
no subject
"And I am Rarity. What might you need help with?"
no subject
She'd go on in more detail, but Saber would like to make sure Rarity is interested and not waste her time.
"If you are able to help, I can offer you some of the Starfish currency, and can also repay you in other ways. I am not above doing errands and tasks."
no subject
"I would be more than happy to assist you, my dear. What sort of outfit are you hoping to wear? Something flowy and free like a dress, perhaps?"
no subject
That wasn't easy to come across, as Saber hardly had a body that could be described as masculine. She was very particular in having the suit appear as a man's, however.
"It was black in its entirety, with a grey dress-shirt."
Saber realizes she might be letting down Rarity in her request, as she was sure Rarity into .. well, as she said, things that flowed and were more elegant.

As she speaks, Rarity starts trot around Saber again, inspecting and envisioning all the wonderful things she could put her in. She really does have an adorable frame! She would look stunning in a lovely ball gown!
"Whatever will you be wearing this for, if I might ask?"
no subject
"Every day, which is why I need to be able to move easily in it. My normal tasks are for the Defense Force. I felt that a suit would be very appropriate."
No, Saber isn't wearing this for an evening out or even to look nice. She'll be possibly running, swinging her sword, and doing any other activity she'd normally do in her armor in it.

Rarity's actually thinking practically for this! Applejack would be proud.

Frankly, the suit isn't exactly standard even as far as men's suits go, so Saber doesn't mind if Rarity adds a few touches to it. The dress-shirt's sleeves were poofy on the shoulders, and other such details had been there.
"How would you like me to repay you?"
no subject
Rarity can be quite a concerned mother sometimes, you see. Even if she doesn't know you very well, she wants to make sure that you'll be ok!
"Repay me?" She thinks for a moment. "How exactly does currency work here?"
no subject
The knight finds Rarity's sudden concern surprising, but is unable to help but smile briefly in return to it.
"Ah, in Vatheon we have Starfish Bucks. I'm assuming you have realized most things are offered here at no charge. In the Nostalgia Nook, however, items do cost Starfish Bucks since they are brought from other worlds. These Starfish Bucks can be stored on SFCs and moved between users as needed."
no subject
"Well, I suppose if you really insist, then a small payment would be very helpful to me, especially if I happen to find special fabrics and items from my home in this shop."
