[Rin wasn't used to being left behind. Rin was used to be the one at the head of the pack, ready to jump in to any situation, and more than willing to throw himself to the proverbial wolves if it could save the people he cared for. But Maka was the same way, and more than once Rin had been the one to go off and leave her behind first. He knew some day it would happen, she would get there first for whatever reason, but he never thought it would be a sudden bout of weakened confidence in himself that would do it.
He was still helping people on the island in his own way, but with her gone with the others trying to help the Station Master and C, he just felt... lost. Out of place. Out of touch. Not himself.
And as always, he wore his heart on his sleeve enough to show it. He was curled up in his temporary bed, tail swaying lazily about, a game system in his hands. Even though he was playing something that should have taken for more attention than he was giving it, he was just pressing buttons without really any mind to what he was doing.]
