[ There's only one thing worse than a teenage girl hellbent on playing out her video game fantasies in real life, and that's one that is already an old hand at it.

She has absolutely no sympathy for the two humans she's dragged off on this zombie mermaid cave quest because they were just lucky enough to go on an adventure with her. As it was, a dark and undoubtedly dangerous cave loomed directly in front of them. Any reasonable person would pause for a moment, plan ahead, or something of that nature. ]

There we go, don't flop around like dead fish! Let's get going!

[ And with that, when Feferi bolts forward. ]

Oi! Don't run ahead like that!

[Yeah, he's hurrying after her. She's the only one who can kill these zombies, apparently, so it wouldn't do to have her get killed.

Better keep up Stein.]

Then you'd better keep up.

[ She pauses just long enough to bounce on the balls of her feet and wave at them before skipping forward some more. Maybe proper light sources would be a good consideration, but she seems completely content in the low light.

At least she's generous enough not to lose them. ]

You've got perfectly fine hooves, so use them.

[Hey now, Stein's got a 5/6 speed for this curse. Ain't nobody faster than him. Apparently, low light isn't a problem for Stein either, since he doesn't bother to pull out a flashlight. ]

We have to stay together or we'll all be eaten by zombies. Even you, Feferi.

[Really though, this is pretty par for the course in Stein's opinion. He's done stuff like this more times than he can count.]

[Well, Shiro is old and his eyesight is going bad, so he'll go ahead and whip out a flashlight. At least now he won't trip over everything.

He's got the slowest speed, though, so he's lagging behind everyone.]

I think there's some high ground over there. That should be a good place to attack from.

[ Feferi rolls her eyes dramatically, but slows in a startling display of obedience when Stein speaks. On the other hand, whim might have been a far more likely reason. She certainly wasn't worried about being devoured by the ravening undead.

She heaves a very teenage sigh. ]

Well, lead the way, you silly old humans. Just don't take forever if you're going to be reeling me in, it's unfair.

Feel free to run ahead if you want. I'm not going to clean up the mess.

[He's not going to rush in, not after the troll girl slows down and stops running ahead. Better to assess the situation and let their opponents come to them, where they still have the opportunity to get out into the open.]

Stein, be nice to her.

[Seriously she's just an enthusiastic teenage girl, no need to be rude.

Also is that the sound of mermaids in the distance?]

Yeah, you heard him, be nice.

[ That was hardly the way to encourage someone to be nice.

Anyway, was that mermaids in the distance? When they get a bit closer towards the telltale sounds of the finned undead, Feferi does what any proper troll would do. ]

Hey... [ She speaks in a stage whisper. ] Watch this.

[ And then she cast magic missile Holy to attack the darkness-- or, you know, just light things up and maybe incinerate something. That was how RPG combat tactics worked, right? Right. ]

[Oh it's been a while since he's been on a mission with children, but this is nostalgic. Kids do stupid things, like rushing into situations and attacking first.]

Very impressive. Hopefully you didn't make them too angry.

[She probably did, since there's a lot of screaming now, and Shiro can hear the scrambling in the darkness. He shines his flashlight over in the direction of the screams, and at least half-a-dozen pairs of eyes stare back at him.]

...Well then! Miss Feferi, I believe we've found our targets.

[terribubbly]

[ Feferi giggles wickedly and ducks behind Shiro when they start clambering towards them. ]

It they die, it hardly matters if they're mad or not.

[ Other than actually casting the spell directly at the mass of creepy-crawling zombie mermaids, though, she really hasn't figured out any particular tactics. ]

Then you should kill them before they get all the way over here.
