( closed ) ready or not, here I come
Who: Yuri Egin, Death the Kid (Okumura Rin later)
When: 12/23/2012
Where: First in the Plaza, then to the Villa
Style: Action Brackets
Status: Closed!
[ She'd only just arrived here not too long ago, and had only waited and rested a bit, long enough for her clothes to dry, before she was out and about again. Yuri hadn't been able to rest too much; all of this had happened so quickly, and it had made her rather restless. She still had a lot of questions that had yet to be answered, and she had pretty quickly realized that, even with a pamphlet on the city as a whole.
She re-dressed herself in her newly dried clothing, put her hood over her head, and set out into the city once again, eyes suspiciously glancing every which way, keeping on her guard in such an unknown territory.
For all intents and purposes, the city itself seemed rather peaceful. Still, she felt uneasy ... and despite the fact that her clothes were now dry, it was still very cold. She hugged her arms around her, trying to reduce how much she was shivering.
Years ago, she had been used to the cold weather ... it had been a long, long time since she had been alive, though. If she were alive again now at all, that was. ]

[While it's probably not the best way to go about introducing yourself, stepping quietly up behind people who are already uneasy and wary of their unfamiliar surroundings, it's certainly direct. That note of courtesy came from a young man, around six foot and perhaps half an inch more in height, sallow skin a sharp contrast with the stark black that made up most of his clothing -- dark slacks, shoes, and a thin sweater paired with a button up shirt in red, perhaps to keep with the festive air.
He might have been remarkable for this alone, but for the strange color of his eyes, and one hell of a weird dye job. Who puts stripes in their hair? Really!
Kid regards her, calmly. Clothing unsuited to the cold weather of late, tension about the lines of the otherwise shrouded body. She's probably freezing.]
This may be too abrupt, but did you just arrive?

Especially when he asked if she had just arrived. Yuri didn't know this person, but if she wasn't mistaken, he seemed to be inquiring as to her well-being ... by way of asking if she had just arrived in their current location.
Yuri offered a smile up at the tall young man, though it may have been barely seen under her hood. ]
I have! I guess I made myself a little obvious, didn't I?

He stood in the plaza and waited to drip dry before moving. Loser. But at least he's a gracious loser; the teen steps aside, gesturing towards a large villa - gaily decorated for the coming holiday - just a short distance away.]
I find adapting to your new situation is much easier on a full stomach. Why don't you come in and warm up? You must be freezing.
[She is welcome to refuse, and wouldn't be blamed for it, either; it's not every day you're welcomed into the home of a weirdo with gold eyes, no matter how generous.]

So, it was after a few moments to think on it that Yuri nodded in response to his offer. ]
I think I'll take you up on that. Thank you.

Pip! We're returning! [And, to the fox-like creature that comes bounding back to the reaper with eyes bright (and a few pounds worth losing, apparently):] We'll continue our walk later, come along.
[In fact, he realizes the silence that follows is the sort of companionable one that feels queerly familiar in a way he can't yet place, so he seeks to break it with conversation.]
My name is Death the Kid, and like you, I was brought to this place in precisely the same manner. And you are?

But she quickly shook the thought of asking that away. Whoever or whatever he was, he was being nice and generous to her. She couldn't look any gift horses in the mouth with this. Besides, it didn't matter what he was. He was a good person; or, he seemed to be thus far. She couldn't imagine him being anything else.
His name, though ... that definitely pings her interest a bit. This was no ordinary human boy, for certain. Not with a name like that, and the abilities ]
Yuri Egin. It's nice to meet you.
[ She would have bowed, but she figured now was not an appropriate time for that. ]
That's quite a name you've got there, though!
[ Okay, so she couldn't help but mention that. She's only human, gosh. ]

On the other hand, Earth has nothing quite like an Eevee, and the closest approximation is a vulpine creature, so to think it a summoned one isn't entirely surprising.
Speaking of, Pip was presently fixating on Yuri, greeting with a noise that sounds suspiciously like 'Vee'. HEY, NEW PERSON.]
A pleasure, Yuri. ...Do you like it? His name is a palindrome!
[...She meant your name, Kid. Not Pip!
This, as he opens the door and steps aside to allow her through the foyer first.]

Could I pet him? Pip, I mean.
[ Yuri is all smiles as she asks about this. ]
He reminds me a little bit of some friends I had back home ...
[ Well, no, Pip's actually much cuter in comparison. But this is a girl who thought Gehenna's creatures were adorable, so. ]

Noting this with an indulgent smile, Kid answers her:]
Seeing as he's taken a shine to you, I don't see why not.
Where is home, if you don't mind my inquiring?
no subject
Yuri actually had to think about that, for a moment. ]
Gehenna.
[ She didn't think he would recognize it, but that technically had been her home for the past sixteen years. Formerly, it had been Assiah ... while she considered both as her homes, however, it would have gotten confusing if she had tried to explain that. Thus, she kept it simple and only responded with Gehenna. ]
Pip is juuuuust a bit cuter than the little ones I'm used to, though.
