The Doctor Arrives (again)

[A rather damp man in a tweed dress jacket and red bow-tie suddenly appears in the plaza next to the corral.

He spins around quickly, observing and taking in the scene before him in a rush of information.

He runs his hand through his hair nervously only to discover that it is wet.]

I'm wet. [He brings his hand down from his head and inspects it. Sniffs it. Then tastes it.]

Correction. [He looks down at the rest of himself and flaps his jacket out a few times as if to get rid of the excess liquid. He begins to straighten his bow-tie.] I'm soaked... [There is a pause.] with salt-water.

And I'm inside a bubble under an ocean next to an enormous piece of coral.

Ooookay. [He claps his hands together and tilts his head to one side and then the other.]

No TARDIS in sight. [He checks his pockets.] Sonic accounted for, that's good. [He removes his sonic screwdriver and takes a reading. There is a green light and an electric buzzing noise for a few seconds. It turns off and he flips the device up to his eyes to inspect the data.]

Well I haven't mis-aimed. There is certainly something odd about this place.

[He places the sonic screwdriver back in his waterlogged pocket.]

So here's a question. [He continues to talk to himself and walks in a semi-circle around the coral.]

Why does this feel oddly familiar?

I suppose you're right. I'm a Time Lord though, we usually aren't affected by these kind of space-time anomalies.

[He sighs a bit and scratches his head. Putting the matter aside, he remembers his manners and his dampness. He resumes toweling himself.]

I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm the Doctor.

The Doctor? Is that your name? What kind of doctor..ah you said Time Lord. I'm not familiar with those kinds of Doctors.

It's nice to meet you though~ My name is Fai D. Flourite.

Just the Doctor. [He tosses the towel away and smiles.]

Well, Fai... [The Doctor moves closer and puts his arm over Fai's shoulder, urging the two of them into a slow walk.]

Tell Me about Vatheon.

[behind_my_smile]

[Fai settles into stride with the Doctor.] It's a bubble~ But you probably want more then that, right?

Let's see..[Fai lifts a finger to his lips and taps them in thought.] People from all kinds of worlds are brought in and we live together and get to have all kinds of fun. And sometimes the world curses us and makes us do crazy things and one time there was even a monster attack.

But overall its a very nice place.

It sounds exactly like my kind of place.

It does seem a little strange that we're all brought to this same place. Is there any way to get back out?

Not that anyone has found. I know many people have looked for a way out but it seems we are here until the coral, or whomever controls this place, decides they are tired of us.

[He frowns a little at this news. It's one thing to be here by choice, it's another if he can't escape when he wants to.]

You haven't seen a large blue box around have you?

[behind_my_smile]

[Fai tilts his head curiously as he looks at the Doctor.] A blue box? Not really. Do you need to send something, somewhere?

Something like that. It's actually more like a ship. A time-and-space ship.

I had it just before I arrived here and it's fairly important. I'm sure it'll turn up.

Oh I see..that would be convenient. They probably won't let you have it though. I don't think they would want anything that will let you leave.

They? Who are 'they?

[behind_my_smile]

Well...I'm not sure exactly. But there has to be someone who controls this place and is able to bring us here. Some sort of magic user..people say its the coral but certainly someone has to control the coral.

[The Doctor stops walking and fully turns to look at Fai.]

Magic? [He decides to let it go.]

Sounds like that's the person I'd like to have a good long talk with.

[He goes back to walking.]

You can't just kidnap people and hold them here.

[behind_my_smile]

[Fai hurries after the doctor once he starts walking again.] Well..normally you can't kidnap people. This world doesn't really think like that. Unfortunately we have to try and make the best of it until it..or they..or whatever, grows tired of us.

How long have you been in Vatheon?

[behind_my_smile]

Ahh, lets see~ [Fai acts like he is counting in his head.] It's been about six months at this point, I believe.

[thelastgallifreyan]

And you've never wanted to leave during that time?

[behind_my_smile]

I don't really have a home to return to though I do miss my traveling companions. I just figure there is no point in dwelling on the fact that we are stuck. Plus this place has allowed me to see my brother again.

[thelastgallifreyan]

[The Doctor is unusually quiet a few moments. He has a somewhat melancholy smile.]

I suppose you're right. Always make the best of a situation. Right? [He gives Fai a pat on the back.]

It doesn't really do us any good to look on the down side right? That will just make things harder.

Precisely.

So, where are we headed?

[behind_my_smile]

Ah well..I was following you. [Fai laughs and looks around.] Do you have someplace to stay? We could start there.

[thelastgallifreyan]

Normally I stay in my ship. I also don't tend to spend too much time in any one place.

But, since I don't have the former and the latter has been more or less decided for me by the former and the giant coral - I suppose I should find something for the night.

Where do normal people usually stay?

[behind_my_smile]

There are all kinds of apartments around the city that you could stay in. You just have to find an apartment building you like and then you can find an open room.

Really? That sounds amazingly simple. There's no rent or anything else like that?
