[Karkat predictably frowns. He may not be his moirail anymore, but he can still get stern over important stuff.]
I'll put it this way. I know breaking the news to her all at once can't be easy, and that's why I asked her specifically if she wanted to hear everything about the Veil, since I told her it's pretty terrible and a lot to take in all at once. She turned me down, though I did warn her she'll probably hear eventually from someone.
It's the same situation here. It's difficult, yes, but if you don't tell her, she's bound to learn about it from another source. But the important thing in this scenario is that if you don't tell her, and she figures it out from someone else, it's going to make you look like a dishonest asshole. I can't guarantee I know what she'll say when she inevitably learns what you do in the Veil, but that's no reason to not be honest about this much. You don't screw around with other people's feelings, got it? You haven't been her moirail for ages, and you know she winds up breaking up with you in the main timeline pretty quick.
And if you do tell her - while it will never, ever be an excuse for the shit you pulled back there - how our moirallegiance went, how you've learned, is at least proof that you've tried to make yourself into a better troll and not repeat mistakes on that level ever again. What she'll think after that is her decision, and not your place or anyone else's to force. But if you keep shit from her, you're just going to fuck the situation up worse in the end.
