002: Snuff out the light
Who: Ronald Knox fresh from hibernation and Yukio Okumura
When: Early morning
Where: Starting in the clinic and possibly somewhere else after
Style: Starting in teal deer action, will follow you.
Status: Closed
[ The morning went by as normally as they did. Ronald got up, scrounged around for breakfast and flipped through his SFC in lieu of the morning paper. It had become almost routine for him by now. However, there was something strange. Normally, there weren't this many things for him to scroll through. Not after one night. So he paused, checked again as he dressed and decided to make his way down the street in search of answers.
A local was nice enough to sell him a muffin for breakfast as well as some tea and it was through a short conversation that he was finally told what day it was.
A week. He had been asleep for almost a whole week. Was that even possible? Did reapers hibernate? Sure, they slept but was a week normal? There wasn't anyone from their department's infirmary to check on him and who knew if Mister Spears experienced the same thing here. But wait. The infirmary. Yukio. He would know, right? He was a doctor and everything. So without a moment to spare, he made his way toward the clinic.
He skirted around Muraki, grateful the man had looked rather worse for the wear and made the smallest mental note to warn his friend about him thanks to Tsuzuki's advice. But that could wait. For now, he had his own worries. Worries which sent him leaning against the wall of the clinic and asking one of the passing nurses to call for Yukio. ]

"Mr.Knox! What are you doing? You should be at home resting, you are putting too much stress on your body." Yukio lectured as he maneuvered the reaper arms around his shoulders and towards the series of chairs.

"S'what I came to you for, truth be told. Thought you'd prolly be able to help with that." he sighed, turning his attention back to the younger male. "See, went to bed early last night fit as you please. Problem is when I opened my eyes a week went by and I slept right through it. Ever heard of anything like that?"

"Wager there isn't any preventive you've got against that, would you? Figured you'd know about reaper physiology and all or was this all a shot in the dark...?"
no subject
"Unfortunately, I do not have knowledge on Reaper physiology- after all you and Mr. Spears are the only two reapers that I had actual contact with but you looked human enough to tend to the most basic of things like change your clothes and getting you into your house well enough." Yukio answered as he gave Ronald a pleasant and somewhat painted on smile.

"Thanks for your expert opinion then, Yukio... or maybe I could call you Yuki? The last bit kind of rolls funny off the mouth." he said after a moment's scrutiny. "Think I should thank you the best way I know how..." His smile turned into the smallest smirk. It was only right. This was a long time coming and heaven knows he had now mentally filed Yukio away as a personal project of his. The kid had been nothing but accommodating and he did want to do something in turn for a friend of his.

"Ah! There is no need to repay me, I didn't do much." Yukio answered as he reached up and ruffled his brown hair trying to distract himself from his own memories and focus on the here and now. "I barely did anything in the first place."
no subject
"Barely did anything my arse. If you've got some time on you, we could prolly do lunch. What do you say?" Ronald asked, smiling back and extending his hand. "Right now, even. Doesn't really do a world of good for a bloke like you cooped up in this clinic all the time. Besides... I heard a little something from a respectable gentleman about a certain co-worker of yours. Not one to spread rumor. Just call me a concerned friend."
no subject
"It is a good thing that I was on my way home tonight and I don't have a shift to watch over to night." Yukio answered as he shoved both of his hands into his pockets and looked at Ronald. "Where do you supposed my coworker and his mysterious date could be found?"

But there would be plenty of time to talk about that. His mood shifted, all seriousness placed aside for the time being as he managed the same smile. "Well? Join me for a bit of grub then? And who knows? Maybe I can snatch you away from the clinic for an afternoon?" he continued, leaning in a bit closer. "Still owe me a date, after all."
