I find we suit each other perfectly on the matter.

[ Ivory and marble. The doctor's decided to make the most of the city giving everything for free and really spared no expense in the set. It's the best he could find and looks about normal... except for the obvious sea theme. The king and queen are mermaids, the knight pieces seahorses, the pawns are dolphins. It's inescapable, really given the setting.

And yet Ciel still continues to impress him. Most children would have balked at the prospect of chess but then... Ciel isn't really most children.

He begins without signal, as he usually does with most things. Though his fingertips lightly trace the back of a dolphin-shaped pawn, he instead chooses to open by moving his queen-side knight. The doctor reclines in his seat afterward, fingers pressed together as he considers his next possible move. ]


And how have things been in the manor, given Sebastian's leave?
