*Ion is just tidying up their room in the penthouse. Dark Link is not exactly the neatest roommate you could have. Links in general kind of just... toss things*

Sola says:

*comes in, clutching a squat glass bottle bottle and looking quite pleased with himself, a complete 180 from the gloom cloud that had hovered over him that morning* Hi Ion!

Ion says:

Link! *looks a little surprised, then smiles* Hello.

Sola says:

*shakes his head* Call me Sola, okay? *he places the bottle down carefully on his nightstand and sits on his bed to take his boots off* I have my own name now.

Ion says:

Sola...? *tilts his head to the side, then... smiles widely all of a sudden and hugs him*

Sola says:

*lets out a small 'oof' as Ion throws his arms around him. He blinks, confused and blushing slightly, but decides to just go with it and hug back* Zelda gave it to me.

Ion says:

*beaming up at him and actually looking his age*So you decided, didn't you? To be YOU.

Sola says:

W-well, yeah.. *rubs the back of his neck self consciously* I mean... I thought I might just.. fade away, but I couldn't without saying goodbye, but when I did she gave me a name so...

Sola says:

*He smiles a bit* I should grow into it.

Ion says:

*the desire to fade away doesn't really surprise Ion, he's felt that way before* It's a good name. Does it mean something? *pretty much obsessed with knowing the meaning behind people's names, but this is tragically NOT Auldrant and not all names are derived from Ancient Ispanian*

Sola says:

She said it's a Sheikah word for someone's shadow, 'cause they thought a shadow was their own person.

Ion says:

*blinks*Interesting... honoring your original and yourself at the same time. I like it!

Ion says:

I'm really happy for you.

Sola says:

Umm.. does it? *sheepishly. Truthfully, he'd agreed to it because Zelda had said it. He would have agreed even if she decided to call him Purple Monkey Dishwasher* I guess... ahh, but what about you?

Well you have your original's name still too, don't you? Isn't it confusing?

Yes. For most people, their parents record the date of the child's birth and celebrate it yearly... but I think in our case, it would be fine if we picked one for ourselves.

Sola says:

Well today is good, then! Did you pick one already?

Sola says:

I don't mind sharing if you didn't

Maybe he's your world's hero.

Yeah! My world has Link, my original. I bet other worlds have other heroes too. I mean, someone has to keep them safe, right?

Ion says:

Well, yes, but you speak as if heroes are... I don't know... assigned.

Sola says:

No, but... well I guess there could be more than one.

Ion says:

So... what do people do for birthdays?

Ion says:

Oh! Well, they have cake, and people bring them presents! I haven't actually done it myself. *sounds sheepish*

Sola says:

No no, that's okay! You being my friend and explaining everything all the time is an awesome present already. *He grins widely*

Ion says:

*just blushes a little and laughs. he can accept that kind of comment with a straight face*It looks like you got something anyway, didn't

Sola says:

Yeah! I'm supposed to get more milk for Zelda in the morning when the shop opens, but she said I can keep the bottle after that!

Sola says:

*picks it up* I could put all kinds of stuff in here!

Ion says:

Really? Like what?

Sola says:

Anything! Milk, water, fish, bugs...

Ion says:

Err... you'd wash it after you put the bugs in it before you put milk or water in it again, right?

Sola says:

*blinks* What for?

Ion says:

Well, you're supposed to keep containers for food and drink clean, or you might get sick...

Sola says:

Sick? But you can eat all those things... *yes even bugs*

Ion says:

O-oh. You mean edible insects and larvae! I'm sorry. *thinks privately that Zelda is crazy for letting Sola do her milk deliveries*

Sola says:

You can eat any bug really, unless it's poison.

Sola says:

*sets the bottle back on his nightstand* Hmm.. maybe I should post on the network that it's my birthday. And tell everyone my new name so they don't keep calling me Link and get confused.

Ion says:

I think that would be a good idea. Maybe the city registry will even update your name!

Sola says:

Yeah! That'd be good!

Ion says:

You do that then, okay? I'll be RIGHT back. *has to get a cake. he just has to*
