He looked like he hadn't slept in days. And really? He probably hadn't. He walked slowly, his shoulders drooped with a bit of a glazed expression on his face. He knew it wasn't safe to be out and about in a state like this but his day was coming to an end and he planned on sleeping tonight. Swinging from his hand was a small plastic bag and in his other hand was a bottle of what looked to be tea.

As he shuffled through the park along the path, he eventually stopped by a tree that was just a few feet away from the path. He walked on over and all but collapsed at the tree's base, leaning up against it and stretched his legs out in front of him. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a breath. A few minutes passed of him just sitting there before finally, he moved again and began to unpack his bag.

A box of ootoro. He began to eat his dinner with his fingers, the bottle of tea on his other side. Of which he occasionally took a sip from. The typically observant informant seemed to be...well. Not so observant tonight. He seemed to be, anyway.

Sola pressed his two pointer fingers together, pouting. "They just sat down under the tree I was in already..." Okay maybe he was watching just a little.

He listened to what Izaya had to say and nodded a bit. "I know, Johnny said so too, but I don't really have a who I am, not yet. I realized it when I was talking to Sheik. I was made to replace someone who's still around, so... I'm just a fake." He looked down, expression troubled. "I actually went to tell Zelda I was sorry and she didn't have to ever talk to me again, but instead, somehow, she ended up making me feel like an individual. I mean, she accepted me anyway, even though she's the one who said I'm not Link in the first place when I was too confused to listen."

"I'm glad you get it, though. I don't think I can explain it better." Sola rubbed the back of his neck with one hand. "You'd really teach me about everything? Won't that be annoying?" He looked hesitant, but blushed again all the same. "Though I guess impressing Zelda wouldn't be a bad thing."

Following Izaya's logic was far too complicated for a simple person like Sola but he tried, nodding along with what he said, though he wasn't quite sure about his master not being smart. You had to be some kind of smart to use magic, didn't you? Still, Izaya was kind and the last thing Sola wanted to do was contradict him.

When it came to Izaya's last statement, Sola smiled broadly. "I like you too, Izaya, and I'm really grateful for your help. You look really tired though, do you want to start tomorrow instead?" He cocked his head to the side slightly, wondering what Izaya did that made him look so haggard. Probably helping everyone else too, he decided. That's just what nice people do.

"Great!" And he really was looking forward to it. Maybe it would help that much more to feel like less of an outsider. It never even occurred to Sola that Izaya wouldn't have his best interests at heart. In his, admittedly very limited experience, evil and good were obvious and easy to tell apart. Everything was straight forward and clearly defined; black and white.

"Do you want to go home together? I'll wait for you to finish your dinner."

Sola grabbed his hand and used it as a brace to hop to his feet. There was indeed a huge difference in the replica, a self-assurance that hadn't been there previously. It was more than the name, it was what it stood for: An identity all his own. With it came unlimited promise, unbridled potential, and the opportunity to grow and define himself however he wanted to. It was a vast and daunting feeling, but it was one Zelda had given him, deserving or not, and he wanted nothing more than to honor and be worthy of it.

Side by side with Izaya, Sola started in the direction of their penthouse.
