Who: Orihara Izaya & All Of Vatheon
Where: The park
When: Sometime towards the evening but not at night
Style: Prose or action. I really don't care.
Status: Open

He looked like he hadn't slept in days. And really? He probably hadn't. He walked slowly, his shoulders drooped with a bit of a glazed expression on his face. He knew it wasn't safe to be out and about in a state like this but his day was coming to an end and he planned on sleeping tonight. Swinging from his hand was a small plastic bag and in his other hand was a bottle of what looked to be tea.

As he shuffled through the park along the path, he eventually stopped by a tree that was just a few feet away from the path. He walked on over and all but collapsed at the tree's base, leaning up against it and stretched his legs out in front of him. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a breath. A few minutes passed of him just sitting there before finally, he moved again and began to unpack his bag.

A box of ootoro. He began to eat his dinner with his fingers, the bottle of tea on his other side. Of which he occasionally took a sip from. The typically observant informant seemed to be...well. Not so observant tonight. He seemed to be, anyway.

[He just stands there for a while, eyes momentarily glancing to Izaya's finger before staring back at his face. His expression softens slightly- he hadn't been intending to surprise him. What was putting him in such a unrelaxed state?]

You alright?

[He gazes towards the book he's holding and shrugs.]

"The Idiot" by Dostoyevsky. Though this version seems to be starring fish instead of people. But it still seems to have the same plot as the book I know back home.

Good. It looks like it's stopped bleeding.

[He nods, smiling slightly.] Yes. He is one of my favorite authors. I really like his thoughts about the human condition...

[And he tilts his head slightly in curiousity.] Crime and Punishment? Have you ever read it, or was it something this place thought you should read?

[A pause as he considers.] Why not. I was looking for a place to sit, anyways.

[And he comes over and sits next to Izaya, leaning back on the tree with a quiet smile.]

Just asking. The Christmas gifts were chosen specifically for each of us, so I'm just wondering why Vatheon thought you needed books, that's all.

[He puts the books gently in his lap and clasps his hands over them, looking over at Izaya.]

The Stranger is an interesting one. And Kierkegaard's Either/Or was a very stimulating work, if I remember correctly.

[A slight sigh.] Yes, I'm doing well. Are you doing well,Izaya? You look rather tired.

Maybe that's why? And me? [The corner of his mouth twitches upward, making him seem somewhat amused.] I got a snowglobe.

[He glances at the proffered food and drink and nods, reaching over and taking one of the pieces of sushi with a smile.]

I'm not too thirsty, but I like a good piece of sushi. I'm rather fond of fish, you know.

[He doesn't mention the kiss at all and just takes a bite of his sushi, looking contemplative.]

It's good.

It had a replica of the island I lived on inside of it.

[He finishes the sushi off, a pleased smile on his face.] Well, I do like trying new foods. But I didn't cook much back home- just the fish I caught from the sea and the various wildlife I caught around the island. Traveling to other places was like "eating out" for me, in a way.

It was nice. It's a constant reminder of home, really.

[His eyes narrow slightly.] Believe me, I hunted. And really? You would do that for me?

Yes. But at the same time, there's nothing exactly like the place I come from. So having such a physical reminder is special for me.

[A shrug.] Boars. Fish. Whatever I could find. I used traps, though. Not big on the "hunting it down with a spear" method, really.

[A pause and then an interested look. He liked kids. Never had any of his own, but still liked them. They were innocent. Pure. Blank slates to be written on, really. But he suspects that Izaya is not being entirely too serious about that.]

Is that so? How are you enjoying it so far? Are they getting on your nerves?

That's good. That you have people you're taking care of, you mean. And it's good you have company. I wouldn't like it if you were alone.

[He turns his head to the forest in front of them, his smile ever-present.]

If they like you, then it means you're doing something right. People want to be with you because you're you, not because of their own reasons.

[He doesn't answer the first question and merely glances back at Izaya, blue eyes unreadable.]

Perhaps. And I know. I know of people even more selfish than you are. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't get any chances.

[Vagueness is part of the omniscient guardian job.]

I think everyone is a little selfish whether they like to admit it or not. Even the most purest of people cares for himself.
