Who: Orihara Izaya & All Of Vatheon
Where: The park
When: Sometime towards the evening but not at night
Style: Prose or action. I really don't care.
Status: Open
He looked like he hadn't slept in days. And really? He probably hadn't. He walked slowly, his shoulders drooped with a bit of a glazed expression on his face. He knew it wasn't safe to be out and about in a state like this but his day was coming to an end and he planned on sleeping tonight. Swinging from his hand was a small plastic bag and in his other hand was a bottle of what looked to be tea.
As he shuffled through the park along the path, he eventually stopped by a tree that was just a few feet away from the path. He walked on over and all but collapsed at the tree's base, leaning up against it and stretched his legs out in front of him. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a breath. A few minutes passed of him just sitting there before finally, he moved again and began to unpack his bag.
A box of ootoro. He began to eat his dinner with his fingers, the bottle of tea on his other side. Of which he occasionally took a sip from. The typically observant informant seemed to be...well. Not so observant tonight. He seemed to be, anyway.

Regardless of his surprise, he smiles around his finger and looks pretty cheerful anyway.
Well damn, he didn't think that he was this tense really.]
Jacob! Hi-hi. Yeah, something like that.
[A mumble around his finger.]
What's that book?
[And finger out and he's good.]
no subject
You alright?
[He gazes towards the book he's holding and shrugs.]
"The Idiot" by Dostoyevsky. Though this version seems to be starring fish instead of people. But it still seems to have the same plot as the book I know back home.

[He pops his finger out and waves it around to show Jacob. There had only been the one bead of blood but it looks fine now.
Any-way. He's just going to keep eating and not really looking at Jacob. Y'know, avoidance and all. But that's until Jacob mentions the book and his eyes instantly go to the man.]
You like Dostoyevsky?
[He sounds a bit awed by this, though instantly feels a little irritated.]
Vatheon..tch. I actually got a few copies of books in their original format in my stocking for Christmas. Crime and Punishment being one of them.
[.....]
...Would you like to join me, Jacob?
no subject
[He nods, smiling slightly.] Yes. He is one of my favorite authors. I really like his thoughts about the human condition...
[And he tilts his head slightly in curiousity.] Crime and Punishment? Have you ever read it, or was it something this place thought you should read?
[A pause as he considers.] Why not. I was looking for a place to sit, anyways.
[And he comes over and sits next to Izaya, leaning back on the tree with a quiet smile.]
no subject
Of course I've read it. What type of question is that?
[Really.]
I also got The Stranger and a collection of Kierkegaard's works.
[And a children's book but he leaves that out.]
Aheh, look at you. You look happy. Is Jacob doing well tonight?
[He kind of wants to lean on Jacob but after their last interaction decides to keep himself to..well. Himself. No, he's just going to try and behave and eat his dinner.]
no subject
[He puts the books gently in his lap and clasps his hands over them, looking over at Izaya.]
The Stranger is an interesting one. And Kierkegaard's Either/Or was a very stimulating work, if I remember correctly.
[A slight sigh.] Yes, I'm doing well. Are you doing well,Izaya? You look rather tired.
no subject
[Izaya's got a look on his face, a smile of sorts, but it's not at all cruel but there's something not entirely right about it as he looks at his company.
Ahah. Philosophy. Jacob, you just become more and more interesting.]
Eh? Do I? I suppose I am. [He shrugs and takes a sip of his tea.] Would you like a drink or a bite?
[He holds out both the small tray of sushi and his opened tea bottle.] We've already kissed so it's okay if you share a drink with me.
no subject
[He glances at the proffered food and drink and nods, reaching over and taking one of the pieces of sushi with a smile.]
I'm not too thirsty, but I like a good piece of sushi. I'm rather fond of fish, you know.
[He doesn't mention the kiss at all and just takes a bite of his sushi, looking contemplative.]
It's good.
no subject
[Izaya's kind of excited to share his food so he's smiling a little wide when Jacob accepts his offer.]
Are you? I didn't know. I don't blame you. That's my favorite type-
[Annnd cue a relatively happy looking Izaya when Jacob agrees that it's good.]
Of course it's good! It's ootoro. I've never had a bad piece in my life. It melts on my tongue and nya~! So delicious. I'm a pretty big fan of food myself. I think that you can tell what a person is like from the food they prepare for you. I used to go to this one really nice restaurant once and they had two chefs and I could always tell which one was working because of the food I got. Do you cook much?
no subject
[He finishes the sushi off, a pleased smile on his face.] Well, I do like trying new foods. But I didn't cook much back home- just the fish I caught from the sea and the various wildlife I caught around the island. Traveling to other places was like "eating out" for me, in a way.
no subject
Ah! Jacob. I can't see you hunting. You seem too gentle to kill something soft and innocent. You seem like you had such a cave man life style but you don't really come off like it at all. Maybe I could cook for you some night.
no subject
[His eyes narrow slightly.] Believe me, I hunted. And really? You would do that for me?
no subject
[Izaya quirks a brow at that. Jacob doesn't really come off like that so of course it's a bit of a surprise.] So adamant about that. What's with that? What'd you hunt?
[Not that Izaya really likes the idea but hey, he gets it. Besides, he was a hunter of sorts himself if he were being honest.]
Sure. It's not a big deal. I like you. So I might as well do something nice for you. Although I kinda live with a bunch of kids now so. Ahah.
[Granted, they were each mature in their own ways. Ion was probably the most tolerable in that regard.]
But they're all real cute.
no subject
[A shrug.] Boars. Fish. Whatever I could find. I used traps, though. Not big on the "hunting it down with a spear" method, really.
[A pause and then an interested look. He liked kids. Never had any of his own, but still liked them. They were innocent. Pure. Blank slates to be written on, really. But he suspects that Izaya is not being entirely too serious about that.]
Is that so? How are you enjoying it so far? Are they getting on your nerves?
no subject
[He smiles at that and it's actually a little fond. He shakes his head and when he speaks, it's pretty genuine.]
No, not really. I chose them all for a reason after all. I think they like me. Their company is pretty nice. Even Laharl's got his soft spot for me. Ahah. But you tell him that and he'll turn red as blood.
no subject
[He turns his head to the forest in front of them, his smile ever-present.]
If they like you, then it means you're doing something right. People want to be with you because you're you, not because of their own reasons.
no subject
[He's looking at Jacob, his expression mostly blank.]
Ahah! But what if I'm just pretending to be nice to them and taking advantage of their innocence~. And you don't know that. There's some pretty selfish people in the world after all.
no subject
Perhaps. And I know. I know of people even more selfish than you are. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't get any chances.
no subject
Me? I'm not selfish at all. [He almost looks offended.] I like to think I'm one of the most selfless people I know. And no, I suppose not.
no subject
I think everyone is a little selfish whether they like to admit it or not. Even the most purest of people cares for himself.
