[Ahiru's arrival, as much as he likes the girl, has rather less fortunately served to remind the prince of just how trapped they are. He had not wished for another person he counted as a friend to arrive, he had wished- and still does- to find a way for all to return home. In the absence of one, however, he will just have to make the best of his time here. At least, he has decided is as much, and while that is hardly a recent decision, he finds himself in need of a reminder of it.

So it is that he has decided to speak with his princess now. He wishes to spend more time with her, for as much as he wants to return home, he does believe that he has been granted truly wonderful luck in having her with him, even here. He will protect her, if it needs doing; he will not fear her being in danger, because he simply will not allow that. It seems most fitting for them both to appreciate their time together now.

After knocking, he straightens with a flutter if his silky cape and clasps his hands behind his back, while his feet reflexively assume fourth position. One would think he is waiting to make his entrance for a grand stage production than to greet the girl he loves for something like a date; though he would see no difference in the importance between those two events.]

[It isn't as if Rue gets many visitors, really. So when she hears the knock at the door, she can pretty much assume who it is. After brushing the last of her (admittedly unruly) hair, she checks her mirror one last time before walking over to the door to answer it, unsurprised by who she sees.

It doesn't make her smile any less, though, and she opens the door wider, stepping back a little to allow him to come in if he wishes.]
