[Kimblee was gone. His stuff was still around and his SFC still connected which was the only thing saving people from Vanitas going to all out war with the nurses. He needed something to do and sticking around a very large house wasn’t really helping matters.

Thusly he decided to bother Roxas. Helping himself to opening a portal into the apartment the blond shared with Axel. He heard the sounds before finding both of his face twins playing a game in the living room. Roxas would probably have picked up on Vanitas being around because of the portal, but Kitten might be a different matter.

Approaching slowly to stand behind the couch before draping his arms over the back of it as he watched the television screen. Wow, Sora. Was this his first time playing?]

You should have dodged there, Kitten.

[Roxas sensed the portal, but wasn't paying close enough attention to exactly who had come through. Portalling happened all the time in an apartment of two Nobodies, so he just assumed it was Axel until he heard the voice.]

Wha- Vanitas?

[Whoops, failing to dodge himself as he twisted to glance at the intruder. Truth be told, he wasn't doing much better at this than Sora. Whatever undersea co-op game they were playing must have been a recent discovery.]

Are you ever gonna learn how to knock?

[ Sora jumped which didn't help his already poor chances at winning this particular round. Sora scowled his anger and irritation at the other boys presence instantly bubbling up. And what was up with the Kitten comment?! ]

What are you doing here?

Don't you have something better to do?

[ Or someone, but nice boys like Sora didn't say that sort of thing, though he was definitely thinking it. ]

[Roxas gets to escape his scrutiny because Sora was easier to get a rise from.]

[People would wonder if something was wrong with Vanitas if he used manners. Reaching over to flick at some of Sora's hair.]

Where's the not-boyfriend? [Aimed at Roxas since Sora already lost that weeks back.]

[That was true, it would be suspicious. Like he was possessed or something.

Roxas turned most of his attention back to the game to try to keep their characters alive, but he was keeping an ear out in case the two of them got into another fight.]

[ Considering how the two of them usually acted it was very likely. ]

[ Sora tried to force himself to pay attention to the video again, but Vanitas at his back made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. Why was this guy so annoying?! ]

[And goody about Axel being out. Means he wouldn't have someone getting in the way of his quality time.]

Shouldn't you be with your girlfriend?

[Oh god Vani don't bring up the girlfriend. Roxas raises his voice a bit and focuses on the safer topic of video games.]

Y'know, if you really wanna show us how it's done, we can trade off at the next checkpoint.

[ Sora grit his teeth together, and his grip on the controller tightened. He tilted his head down a bit so his eyes were mostly hidden from Vanitas's view thanks to his hair. ]

I don't need you to tell me what to do.

I rather like watching you two fail.

[That sure was an interesting topic change though.]

Got dumped already, Kitten? I wouldn't be surprised with how you dress for dates.

[Usually he would be vigilant about checking the list for names, but with Kimblee being away, he didn't feel up to it.]

[Also Roxas may have had a hand in his current wardrobe.]

[ Reason or not that was almost the last straw. Sora turned towards Vanitas his eyes blazing. ]

She didn't dump me!

[ His hands were gripping the controller so tightly it was a wonder the thing didn't snap. ]

We don't want you here, get out!

[Given the chick was wearing a zipper dress, he can't really be sure she would be a good judge of clothes.

And whoa Sora, bros don't break other bros' joysticks.]

I was bored.

[Why else? He didn't want to say it felt stupid sticking around a very large house all alone.]

Usually it takes a little longer before I get you like this, Kitten. Did someone drown your goldfish?

Sora, calm down. You know he just says this crap to get on your nerves.

[Please don't break his controller. Also, looks like both their characters are probably dying, since neither one of them is paying attention to the screen now.

He turns his gaze on Vanitas.]

Kairi went home, so knock it off.

[ Sorry bro. Sora dropped the controller for the moment, pausing was out of the question they were already too far gone for saving now. ]

I am calm!

[ No he really wasn't. He had been trying to hide it and Vanitas was just brushing all the dust off. He hated this. He hated that he was left behind, hated that he couldn't do anything to bring them back. He wanted to be with both Riku and Kairi again, but he didn't want to leave Roxas here either, and there was nothing he could do anyway. For the first time in a long time, Sora felt completely powerless. ]

[Good job at the not dying part of the game, boys.]

[Dropping his tone to something low and slightly playful.

His attention moves to Roxas for a moment as he thinks about it. Kimblee likes Roxas because he was trying to make the most of what he's been given. Kimblee wasn't there though.

[Wait, what? Fine? Did Vanitas actually agree to let something go?

Roxas looks at him strangely for a moment, wondering what brought him here besides boredom, and then shoves his controller at him.]

[ Fine? Sora gave Vanitas a weird look before turning back to the screen and picking up his own control to try again where they'd left off.

[ He didn't say anything, but he was still silently seething. ]

[He'll lay off on the missing girlfriend part, but Sora's performance was totally open game.

He'll raise a brow at the controller in his hands. This was just to make sure he didn't do anything, huh?

Fine. He'll show them how to play.]

[Yes, this is totally a bid to get Vanitas to behave. If you're going to come over to Roxas's apartment and "visit" with your cousins, do it like a semi-normal person.

Roxas leans back as if relaxing, but he's watching both his face twins out of the corner of his eye.]

[ He kept his eyes on the screen though he was still annoyed he was trying not to let Vanitas get to him. ]

I'll show you.

[ The game started and in true Sora fashion his character rushed in guns blazing. ]

[He could call him moron, idiot, and a number of other things what would work for the brunet in Vanitas' mind.]

[This was one of the things he played with Kimblee a lot. The older one was actually better at it because he had a stupid thing about getting every secret, ability, and whatever else the game had to offer. Vanitas preferred beating things as hard and fast as possible.

If by showing, they wanted Vanitas to actually walk them through things, then they were totally nuts. He did help himself to hopping over the couch and settling between them as he played. Sora didn't mind the proximity, right? At least he wasn't behind him and breathing into his ear.

Though he's going to mock Sora's rushing in like a moron method.]

Don't tell me this is how you fight outside of video games as well.

[How did he manage to live so long and against Xehanort?]

[Darn. It probably would work out better for Roxas to be sitting between them, but at least it's easier to keep an eye on Vanitas with him next to him.]

Video games are a lot different from actual fighting.

[...even if charging straight in pretty much is how Sora fights most of the time. And Roxas was like that sometimes, too, if he's being honest.]
