[ If it were anyone else, Naoya would have been looking awkward, standing on the edge of the room as he was.

But boy is a protag. He owns standing alone on the edge of rooms. You never knew being a wallflower could be quite this cool. ]

[Naoya picked a good place to stand - he's right near one of the tables that so happens to have fun little snacks and hors d'oeuvres upon it. Akihiko steps over to grab a few, catching sight of Naoya and gesturing for him to come closer.]

Hey, Toudou. Come try some of this.

[There's a lot of weird French things here that may or may not be bacon-wrapped.]

[ Naoya does so, looking curiously at the odd snacks. ...well, it's covered in bacon. How bad can it be? ]

Give them a try. They're French or... Something like that.

[He glances around, looking for Mitsuru. She'd know the proper name for whatever these delicious things were...]

[ Naoya does so, a bit surprised after he takes a bite. ]

They're good.

[Yeah, Akihiko's popping another one into his mouth.]

They are, aren't they? Mitsuru says they add an air of class to things... I just think they're delicious though.

[Of course, in the back of his mind, he does wonder if they're beneficial or detrimental to his diet...]

[About to grab another one, Akihiko suddenly pauses and blinks. His brow furrows, thinking very hard on that question Naoya just presented him.]

...You know, I don't think I've ever seen Mitsuru cook before.

[ A light smile appears on Naoya's face; he is certainly teasing. ]

[He scratches the back of his neck instead of eating any more bacon-wrapped things.]

If it's stealth then she must be a ninja in her spare time...

Maybe one of the local shops makes them.

[He eyes the appetizers again, frowning for a moment before recovering. The mention of cooking brought a silly, passing thought to mind, one he quickly tries to dispel. I bet Shinji could make these...

He turns his attention to Naoya again, managing a smile.]

There's also some little... Pastry puffs with green stuff inside. [It's an accurate enough description] I think they're French too.

[ Naoya picks one up, and, after inspecting it, takes a bite. Why not? ]

I did not bring much. I was not certain what anyone would like.

I didn't know what to get for people who didn't live in the dorms. So I can say the same thing. *She nods reassuring.*

Besides, it's the thought that counts right?

[ He smiles slightly at her. ]

Although I am rather curious. What did you get for your friends?

Brown is the only one here I really know... I found him a spear.

[ It was not the most fun of gifts, but for someone who had spent weeks on end armoring and equipping his teammates, it made him nervous to leave Brown unnarmed. ]

It's not a bad idea though since you don't know what will happen in Vatheon.

In fact, giving your friend something to protect himself with is pretty wise choice.
