It's not exactly unusual to see Roxas in the vicinity of the ice cream shop. He's probably one of its top customers, aside from the not-having-to-pay part.

What is a little unusual is that he's eating... strawberry ice cream. It's gotten to the point where he doesn't have to say what flavor he wants, but this time the lady at the counter gave him something different, remarking she heard it was his favorite. He's overheard a few similarly strange things from the natives, but mostly harmless stuff about people he doesn't know and he dismissed most of it.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with trying new things, right? Actually, strawberry's not bad.

((Another rumor going around which Roxas hasn't heard is that he likes kissing folk. Vanitas sure got all the important parts out of that diary. So be forewarned your character may be subjected to kissing... on the cheek.))

[Asch is just passing by -- quickly, too, considering he doesn't have anything to be in a hurry for. He's heard enough about the nature of the rumors going around that he doesn't care to spend any more time in public than he has to. He slows down for a moment, however, when he spots Roxas, mainly because it takes him a sec to remember where he knows him from. Right -- when he first arrived at Vatheon.]

[Overhearing the comment from the sales lady reminds him that yes, rumors, and he was heading home. Asch starts to walk on by, only to nearly collide with Roxas as he turns away from the counter. He flinches away quickly -- please tell him he didn't get any pink ice cream on his clothes, that would be a mess. Yeah, uh. Oops?]

[Roxas turns and-- woah! What are you doing standing right there? Luckily Roxas has strong protect-the-ice-cream instincts and although there's a bit of flailing, that pink ice cream manages to stay in its cone.]

A-asch! Hi.

[He was just trying to leave!] ...Hi. [He could probably sound less thrilled and more awkward, but it would be hard. At least he's not covered in ice cream. He glances around for lack of anything to say. There's an ice cream shop here? Seems pretty frivolous.]

[He's picking up on the awkward, but he figures it's just that. Awkward.]

Um... are you here for ice cream, too?

[Confused blink.] Of course not. [Might come out a bit curt; why would he be wasting his time with ice cream?]

Oh.

[Roxas looks just as confused by his reply. Why else would you come to an ice cream shop?]

You... don't like it?

[Wait, why is that relevant to the conversation?] That's not what I... [He stops, looks away a few degrees.] I was just walking by.

[Maybe that came out a little harshly. Now that he actually thinks about it. Quick, subject change!] ...I didn't know they sold ice cream in this city. [Completely smooth and not random at all.]

[Totally smooth, Asch. It was still on topic, don't worry.]

Well, sure. They've got the best flavor, too. You should try some.

[The best flavor being sea-salt, not what he's eating now. Oh well.]

[Asch gives Roxas a blank look. Try some?] ...What's the best flavor? [Almost said suspiciously, and kind of stalling. Seriously, why would he want to...]

Sea-salt. [This is like a fact of life, Asch.]

Here, I'll get you one. [Since he is still standing right by the counter, he just turns to ask the lady.]

... [Okay, that doesn't sound right.] Isn't ice cream supposed to be sweet--

[Oh crap she's handing him a cone. Oh no. Asch takes it and looks at it a little suspiciously. Does he have to...?]

It is sweet. And salty, at the same time.

[Somehow. Through the magic of KH.]

It's really good, I promise.

[That... doesn't sound much better. But he guesses he can't exactly just get rid of it after Roxas bought it for him... So he takes a bite (that's how you eat it, right?).]

... [After a moment of 'ow, my teeth', his expression goes blank.]

... It's good. [There doesn't seem to be much conviction behind the words, but Asch saying them at all is an accomplishment.]

[Asch doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd say that enthusiastically... about anything, really. So Roxas just goes with it.]

Told you.

[But here comes the truly awkward part, Asch. Right after that remark? Roxas leans in to give you a peck on the cheek, as if you're sweethearts or something.]

[Okay, so the ice cream's good. Asch has not considered that maybe it would be polite to finish it, so he just goes back to ignoring it--]

[He flinches away defensively and then takes a step or two back when Roxas kisses him, right hand dropping to his side for a moment almost as if he was going for his sword. (Which would be ridiculous, and he's not carrying it anyway.)] What-- [He pauses, starts over.] What did you just...

[Roxas starts back a bit himself. ~~Wrong redhead!~~]

I- I dunno.

Well, I mean, that was-- [Obviously it was a kiss, he just doesn't know the why of it.]

Sorry.

[Asch eyes Roxas for a moment, because that was a strange response. He'd almost think he was hiding something if that made any sense.]

Do you... always do that? [A little wary sounding, because he is going to be avoiding Roxas from now on if that's a regular occurrence.]

Of course not!

I don't go around- kissing people just because they're-- [...good-looking? Is that really where he was going with that sentence? Probably best not to finish that one.]

A-anyway, I don't.

Fine. [Comes out a bit faster and sharper than he'd intended. He doesn't know what Roxas was about to say, or if Roxas even knew, but he doesn't really care as long as that was an anomaly.] Just don't do it again.

[...He stares at the ice cream. Takes another bite for something to do.]

I won't.

[Though he does inch back a little more, because keeping his distance is the only way he can think to be sure. It's not like any planning went into that kiss.]

Sometimes- this place just makes you act weird. [Because he feels like he should offer some kind of explanation. He hasn't heard about any curses going on right now, but they're not always obvious.]
